Your currency is big better go there n experient the real China ❤️
Yes we are! Thank you so much we really appreciate you ❤️
Honestly, this video looks like a couple who are using wemedia to save their family from bankruptcy.
You can go to other cities in China, and you will get a better experience, Chongqing or Guilin.

I remember your first video in China, you both look so nervous, now you both look so relaxed and happy!😂😂
First video, still in horror that ccp
would arrest them without any reason, with the impression western media tell them
Thanks! 😃 yes lot more comfortable now ❤️
They should be more prepared when they go to China with a language barrier. Im surprised that people still dont know what ChatGPT 4.0 is.
Look very good 👍 thank you your video from China 🇨🇳 I am in American 🇺🇸
Thank you too! 🇨🇳❤️🇺🇸❤️
Always so impressed by how travellers in China eat and look so healthy. And you guys too. Happy for you.
We walk a lot as you probably see in previous videos 😂
Street snack food in China are much healthier than any snacks in a bag, percentage of real food are much higher than processed food.
The more I watch your videos the more I like you two. My first impression wasn't so nice tbh, from that ridiculous walk in the night for hours and many other bad decisions/signs of some prejudice in the first few videos, but now you two are one of my favourite TH-camrs travelling in China! You two are just a very real cute couple who gradually learn as things go, say straightforwardly what you think, down-to-earth and completely honest, and we love you for that.
I said to you at the time you will fall in love with us eventually. We are very stupid sometimes but we are just being ourselves. We appreciate you a lot ❤️❤️
@@OTWD_yt Wow thank you for the reply! Hahaha you are very right, I am indeed in love. Enjoy your time in China and maybe sit down in a proper restaurant and have some proper dinner sometime in the future! Like half of the restaurants in China have basically the same price as the street food you have been having (sometimes even cheaper), and the other half are more expensive (like how it is in the UK).
2:10 The first food is called hand cake(手抓饼) in Chinese.
11:41 Stinky tofu (Chinese: 臭豆腐;) is a Chinese form of fermented tofu that has a strong odor.
17:02 Jianbing guozi (Chinese: 煎饼馃子) or "deep-fried dough sticks rolled in a thin pancake" is a popular Chinese street food.
20:47 冰糖葫芦 is a traditional Chinese snack consisting of several rock sugar-coated fruits of Chinese hawthorn on a bamboo skewer. It is named for its calabash-like shape.
Thank you 😊
First one is 鸡蛋灌饼,which is made from pancake( or flatbread, “Bing饼”)infused by egg
7:30 I think donkey filling for buns is super rare even in china. But I had tried dumplings with that. Supppperb. Must try if you see that.
Now you've really tickled my fancy to go visit China and try out their street foods.
You won’t regret it 💯
@@OTWD_yt I'm sure I won't regret it. London food is just garden variety and very dear. I used to eat out frequently before covid, but then covid struck, everything has become so expensive.
Yes I know. Since co vid U.K. has gone through the roof. That’s what we travel and do this it cheaper and a better life + we get to see the world too
@@OTWD_yt I live in London, work in the square mile, even I feel the pinch. The cost of living has gone thru' the roof in the UK. I hope with the incoming Labour government that they will tame down the inflation, though having said that I don't have much expectation in our politicians in general. Your videos are very very good and I do enjoy them, especially you show us how the other side of the world lives and what makes them tick. The food in China is dirt cheap and there're so much to choose from and that's what fascinates me to go there. Destination China is definitely in my bucket list.

1:33 Those are "鸡蛋灌饼" (egg-filled pancakes), a traditional breakfast item from Henan (pronounced "her-nan") Province in East-Central China. The egg is in the middle, but it's not sandwiched between two pastries. Instead, a wheat flour dough is cooked on the griddle until it puffs up, and then whisked eggs are injected into it. It can then be used to wrap all sorts of fillings, such as the shredded potato, lettuce and sausage you saw in the shop.
5:29 Although the menu was only partly visible in the video, the first two rows Ben pointed at were both pork buns. Also, the eggs at 5:39 are not ordinary boiled eggs, but "tea eggs". They are first half boiled in water, cracked and then further simmered in a sauce of tea, soy sauce and spices. Each cooked tea egg has its unique exquisite marble-like pattern on the light brown white, and a savoury and aromatic flavour. It's one of the most popular snacks across China, particularly among people who don't like plain boiled eggs.
10:41 You just bumped into one of the most famous stinky tofu chains called "黑色经典" ("Black Classic") from Changsha, a South-Central Chinese city renowned for stinky tofu. The black colour and the distinctive smell are from fermented soybeans, shiitake mushrooms and bamboo shoots used to brine the tofu during fermentation. The black stinky tofu is then fried and served with pickled daikon (an Asian radish) as seen at 11:28.
13:45 Did you notice the first ingredient she added? It's wheat gluten, porous and good for soaking up all the flavours. And Beijingnese loves a generous spoonful of sesame sauce (13:58) in many dishes.
15:09 Unfortunately, as much as Reanne wished, the meat she pointed at wasn't duck, but beef...😂 Also, did you realise that the pink colour in the dough was from dragon fruit? 17:33, this is "煎饼果子" ("crepe with crisp fritter"). Note that "果子" normally means fruits, but here it means the crisp fritter, which may confuse some point-and-translate apps. It's a traditional breakfast item from Tianjin, a central municipality to the southeast of Beijing. The wrap is made of wheat and green bean flour, hence the stretchy texture you described.
21:12 Reanne might be right this time - it's probably pureed dates, a commonly used ingredient in Chinese desserts.
22:12 The tart Reanne bites into says "豆乳蛋挞" ("soya milk egg tart") on the label, and the one Ben is enjoying at 23:06 is "海盐芝士" ("seasalt and cheese") flavour.
Whew~ I'm impressed by how much street food you guys munched on in this episode, but it's SO satisfying!🤩 I'm mouth-watering now...🥰
Thank you 😊
Better than any Subway and or poxxie Tescos sandwich!!! the hell do English people have for lunch in the UK, is a boring dry chicken salad sandwich for about £3.50!!! and a packet of half walkers and a drink thats like a £5!! EVERYDAY!!!
so much variety and choice and value in chinese food and its so affordable and healthy!!!! No E numbers or preservatives and its ALL fresh fruit vegetables, even the sugars and syrups are naturally made sweeteners and honey etc
Yes 💯
这是政府的“菜篮子”计划,目的让每个家庭都可以吃到新鲜蔬菜。
When I heard that the jianbing you bought was 34 yuan, I knew you added too many dishes😂
Haha guilty 😂❤️
Your channel on your travels in China is impressive. I love how much you enjoy yourself
Thanks John. We just try and be ourselves. People seem to like it.
The thing you had on 5:00 is kind of like a egg burrito. You can actually use uncooked tortillas to replicate, after it's heated, it will puff up, and you use chopsticks to poke a hole and put egg into it. That's how you made it. It's called 鸡蛋灌饼 basically means egg into the dough. It's my favorite food for breakfast. Cheap, and fast. I miss that so much😢
Amazing. Thank you 🙏
那是煎饼果子
You guys don’t look that nervous anymore, happy for you
We are definitely more comfortable ❤️
21:24 The red fruit on the outside is hawthorn, and the inside is sugared osmanthus red bean paste.
Ah ok thank you 😊
12:30 Changsha people here😊 Those black stinky-tofu is from Changsha where known as one of the most famouse origin of stinky-tofu.The flavor of tofu is created using a special brine. The modern Changsha stinky tofu technique ensures that only the brine smells bad, while the tofu itself has a mild or even no odor after frying.
Those egg tarts are an attempt at southern Cantonese style egg tarts. The ones that are flambé on top are known as Portuguese/Macau style egg tarts. The crust of a good egg tart is made with butter as shortening and with at least 18 layers of flake and the egg custard not floury tasting.
Ah yes thank you 😊
and the best egg tarts hide in KFC for real.

Hello everyone, I am from Hangzhou, China. And I have traveled almost the whole China, so I can say that I know a lot about traveling in China. Recently, because of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy, I see that more and more foreigners are very interested in traveling to China. However, many foreigners don't know much about China, including the apps they need to use during their travels, some cultural customs, the choice of travel locations and so on. As a Chinese ,I am very happy to provide convenience for those who want to travel to China, if you have any information you want to know, please feel free to comment or contact me!😊❤
It is so much fun to watch you guys eating the street foods and exploring a new place
We love it 😍
Each province has its own cuisine.Have fun on food adventure.
Yes! Thank you!
you guys are brave to try stinky tofu - most westerners avoid it lol. the pink crepe wrap is jian bing. I tried to get sunkissed to try it out but they still haven't so far 😅. you guys got a totally loaded version - the basic one is just the crepe, crisp cracker, herbs and sauces and normally runs around 10 rmb so it's a great cheap snack. btw you got beef, not duck lol. maybe imitate animals better next time 🤣
Oh 😂 🤦♂️
Kj mm
In China beef is tenderized using baking soda so the meat just falls apart in your mouth.
for night life, street food, changsha is the most popular city to go in China. The night life starts around 11pm, 12am, you will see full of people even at 3am on street eating street food. the black tofu is a famous traditional changsha street food for many years, like couple hundred years. Nowadays, many young Chinese like travel to changsha for the night life, the vibe and eating, it is a less popular destination for foreigner travellers though.
Its definitely on our list of cities to visit in China trust me.
长沙很辣 和四川是另外一种辣。不过长沙东西很好吃!
@@OTWD_yt The food in Changsha is very tasty and popular, but get yourself prepared for different kind of spiciness. In Chongqing or Chengdu, the spiciness is giving you a numbing kinda sensation, but the spiciness in Changsha is more of pure hot.

Beijing welcomes you, and we're delighted you've come to experience the culinary delights of Beijing.
1. Firstly, apart from Peking Duck, duck meat is rarely found in Beijing's menu. Moreover, donkey burger is a specialty of Baoding, and dishes made from donkey meat are also relatively rare. So, what you'll mostly consume here would be beef or pork.
2. Secondly, there are various types of stinky tofu, and the well-known stinky tofu in Beijing is a kind of fermented bean curd in cans. Beijing stinky tofu has an unimaginably strong odor, filling up to 100 square meters around with a fermented stench upon opening the can, making it unsuitable for consumption in public places. The type you'll experience is Changsha stinky tofu, a fermented dried tofu product with only a very mild distinctive odor. After breaking the fried crust, the soft center is added with ingredients like dried radish, chili, sesame, garlic paste, and crushed peanuts. The Changsha region also adds flavorful soup, garnished with coriander and bird's eye chili. A generally unknown eating method among ordinary diners is adding a bit of vinegar, which makes it taste even better.
3. Moreover, local snacks in China originated from people's practice of storing seasonal foods through various methods such as air-drying and fermentation in the absence of ice cellars and refrigerators, forming the distinctive flavors of local ingredients. Additionally, some direct consumption materials that taste bad but are nutritious (e.g., duck meat, hawthorn, various scraps like fish mix, innards, paws, necks, heads) are made into flavors that suit people's tastes, forming the local snacks across China.
4. Therefore, the culinary scene is divided into major cuisines and snacks. The main dishes are those originally delicious and high-quality ingredients processed by chefs into fine dining, which requires visiting well-known restaurants of various cuisines. As for snacks, they are originally less tasty but become popular delicacies after processing, commonly found on streets and various small shops.
5. The place in your video is "Guijie Street," where 80% of the food belongs to snacks. To find Beijing dishes, look for restaurant names that include "xxx zhai, xxx ju, xxxx fanzhuang.” Spicy flavors are mainly found in Sichuan hot pot restaurants, the Xiang and E cuisines have more spicy flavors, Fujian and Guangdong cuisines feature more soups, Yunnan and Guizhou are known for exotic mushrooms, while Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang offer bold meat dishes.
Finally, budget-friendly restaurants can usually be found in the food floors of major shopping malls, and economical restaurants are scattered all over the streets. Only the following areas have relatively pricier restaurants: around the Forbidden City, on Wangfujing Street, in the center of Sanlitun and Shichahai, next to five-star hotels, beside embassies, around the CBD area, and on Financial Street. Other than that, 95% of restaurants are not too expensive unless you accidentally enter a place like "Shunfeng Restaurant." Most beautifully decorated restaurants won't have high costs.
we miss all the food there
