  • This TAI CHI WARM UP is the Tai Chi for Health Institute set of gentle exercises that warm up our body, get the joints moving, releasing stiffness, helping to manage pain, loosening muscles and keeping us flexible, mobile and active.
It's a perfect introduction to Tai Chi if you are a Beginner, a Senior looking to stay fit or suffering with arthritis, msk, or other conditions that can cause pain and stiffness, especially in the hips, knees and shoulders.
    .
Keep all exercises in your comfort zone and within limitations by listening to your own body throughout the session. Don't push too far. Keep breathing calm. Relax.
I've recorded both SEATED and STANDING versions - so you need a MODIFIED TAI CHI EXERCISE then follow sitting down whereas if you are ready to progress the movement then follow the STANDING UP version.

Warm Up exercises are not to be underestimated - whilst they are effective in preparing the body for exercise - they also are a gentle way to start and keep your body moving. Focussing on individual areas of the body, moving them in turn, loosening joints, muscles, getting blood pumping and releasing stiffness and tension. They are a great way to keep active and mobile. What do you think?

Lovely combination of strength and flexibility. Option of standing or sitting. Especially liked the reminder when transferring weight to avoid "toppling the chair".

Lovely combination of strength and flexibility. Option of sitting or standing. Particularly liked the reminder when transferring weight forward not to "topple the chair".

Lovely combination of strength and flexibility. Helpful to have standing or sitting instructions. Enjoyed hearing the reminder when transferring weight to avoid "toppling the chair".
