“rose colored lenses” was the first track on the album that REALLY surprised me and i’ll tell you why. even though you get mileys signature type of vibe, the production and sound of the song sounded like nothing else she’s done before. it reminds me of a more pop friendly and modern version of that old band cocteau twins. also that track slays tbh
I've never clicked on a video faster! As a Miley stan coming off of Plastic hearts era, it took me a couple listens for this album to click but it truly does get better with every listen and I find myself picking new favorites every day. Her disney + special also made Wildcard & Jaded fast favorites. I really hope we get an ESV tour because just imagine the imagery & aesthetic. Also you were totally right about what Island is about. I feel like after hearing the verse in River "you could be the one have the honor of my babies" Miley really could be considering having a baby MC and settling down after the era which is an insane thought. She seems like she's in a good place, and calls this her "cinderella shoe" album because it's the perfect fit for where she's at right now. Would love to see a full discography ranking for Miley!
