    I had never seen the bandura before I saw another video of this guy singing on a street corner earlier today. I asked in the comments what it was, and when I looked it up, this video of the same guy was the first result. he is an absolute icon. I hope he is doing well 💖

    Does anyone know his name? I saw him play 18 years ago and am so pleased to see he’s still playing and singing beautifully. If anyone is in Kyiv, please go to St Sofia’s cathedral and ask him!

    Wonderful. I am not born in Ukraine, but I love the bandura sound very much, and your way of playing and singing. It touches my heart and my soul. Thank you, and, please, never stop playing -if possible-.

    Russian Balalaika has 3 strings

      Well yea but a bandrua is like a harp and a balalaika is a picked instrument

    • @AezAkmi-if3tx
      @AezAkmi-if3tx ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      is that why the balalaika sounds worse and it's easier to play it? ofc not. and it is better to compare the bandura with the russian gusli. more similarities.

    Very, very nice! Compliments. Many italian's group of traditional music lovers says to like traditional or etnichal music and instruments. Nobodies know Bandura... Only pipes, irish or others "celtic" instruments and music. I Discovered Bandura and eastern european's music and instruments only thanks to you and others you tube's utents. Thanks to all from Italy. Ediunicko.

    Hello Skromt
    This artist is quite famous in the Ukraine and is regularly seen at St Sophia's Cathedral. He does have some recordings but unfortunately I didn't get his name last time I saw him. I am in Kyiv in May again so will try and track him down and post his details when I get back.

    Merry Christmas ediunicko. As far as I am aware the bandura is made in the Ukraine as I have seen it for sale there in many different cities. I am not sure if it is exported to Western Europe but I am sure the Cultural Ministry of the Ukraine will be able to help you through your local Ukrainian embassy. I can recommend travelling to Kyiv if you have not been there. Awesome history and architecture.
