This area sure has changed in the past forty five years.
I can imagine that it's going to change a whole lot more in the next 40! I can see it skyrocketing in terms of popularity. Sadly with that will come soulless and ugly development and the horrible plastic tourist traps.

Stayed in Bol end of August 2016. Was part way through my 26 country, 84 day and 11500 mile tour on my Yamaha tracer 900. Loved the place and the road to the port. Croatia was my favourite country of out 26. Great vid dude

Riding coastlines is usually spectacular, and this one did not disappoint! Unfortunately we always have to keep our eyes on the road and miss some of the scenery. Hate to tell you this, but you’re not the only one that knows that magic trick before hairpins. ;)
+vac0002 It is a shame! I just wanted to have my head at 90 degrees the whole time! Seriously, we've got 2 eyes. Why can't we multitask and look at 2 things at once?! It IS a handy trick, can't expect to be the only one who wants to 'magic' the cars into the rearview!
Blimey, it's a wonder you get any work done, such a lot to edit. But definitely a treat to watch!! Such a beautiful country and touring it on a motorbike defo seems the best way to see it. Looking forward to watching the next one...eventually ;-)

Can I ask, what sort of speeds are you doing through the twisties? And why do you shift so much in the saddle while cornering? 🙂
I recommend that you do, Liz! It was far better than I ever imagined it would be! But be quick, before there’s too much traffic!!
Hard to say how much speed. Nothing crazy. I shift about to put my weight inside the turn and thereby reduce the amount of lean angle needed. You don’t have to do it, but I like to. It makes me feel more planted in the corners, rather than staying on top of the bike.
How do you make it so you have no wind noise? What mic placement/type do you use?
A lot of it seems to be down to the helmet. My first helmet (AGV) was terrible even though the mic was in the same place. I have the mic inside the cheekpad, but right at the front so it's between the sponge and the outer fabric, pointing upwards. The mic itself is this one: amzn.to/2DTfZvT

Andy Man Cam thanks, less of the old you cheeky bugger. 😃 I must have a quieter helmet and a quieter bike than you as I don’t get much engine noise at all. Will be posting my very first Vlog quite soon. That should give you a laugh.
ROFL - not watched the tour for a couple of weeks and just realised you have subcontiously influenced my choice of new helmet!!! Ended up with a Caberg Tourmax, very similar to yours but with a flipface which you can lock open..... Thanks for the subliminal influence !!!

Ho ho ho! Boom-tish! :D Funny how the old brain works eh! I actually came very close to getting that helmet for myself! I found it a little too heavy to then stick cameras and such on to it. Nice lid though!
Friend of mine opened a locksmith in Bol (Not really,this is a piss poor joke) can you guess what the name was?
It's been great watching you evolve and improve as a rider. No longer a prisoner of the white lines. Better gear selections and corner adaptations (Which cannot be learned on a track, only the open road) and much smoother engine braking control and throttle input. You always had heightened alertness of the things going on around you that I guess was honed in the streets of London long ago. Good use of CG too, that you may have just picked up along the way or learned on the track; or both, given that it changes with the load placed on the bike and the amount of fuel in the tank. Doing well old son.

Thanks old stick. Not at all condescending and I'm flattered that you think so. I only regret that poor weather and even poorer availability of twisties up here, mean that every year I'm starting 4 or 5 steps backwards from where I left off at the end of the last season. And this year with twice the ponies jostling beneath the petrol tank. I MUST ride more. I also fear that the alertness has actually reduced. Softened by the lack of London riding and the prison like spirit breaking that comes from living in a land where filtering is not only frowned upon, but actively (and dangerously) enforced by the common man. There's a whole video and a sad story about that coming soon. But anyway, thanks and long may this improvement continue. The moment a man stops learning, he's either become ignorant, or dead.

Oh, I meant add this true tale. About twenty years ago a friend and I decided to hitch from Cornwall to a place called, Mandelieu-la-Napoule. (Stunning! One of the places the French go to when they go for a holiday on the Riviera. We arrived inTroyes at about 4:am and were trudging along a side road to the local camp site when I spotted a tyre store called, Gay Pneus. My companion Debbie became helpless with laughter in the middle of the road (For those who do not know, a prominent Gay Magazine at the time was called, 'Gay News') and I had to drag her to the curb. She kept repeating, "It's a tired cliché" and setting herself off again. I got my revenge in the tent later, Just as she was about to drop off to sleep I said to her, "I think my inner tubes have gone a bit queer." She went off into hysterics. I went off to sleep. I was hated at breakfast but it was worth it.

Haha, decided you wanted a louder bike? I think Croatia still carries a lot of the bad rap it received during the Balkan wars right after the fall of the Soviet Union.
Gotta hate a sweaty sweat sweat! :D (BTW, just ordered a Nishua Enduro Carbon lid, smoke visor and Pinlock, Louis sent me a discount code to get me 50 Euros off!) :-) Gotta love fantastical views. Any tips on setting the helmet up? I guess it depends on camera/mic being used? Man, you get to ride in some lovely places, I need to stop putting anti social exhausts on my bikes so I can get one of them into Europe and beyond. :-) What a bloody awesome coast road! :-)

Very nice! It's an awesome lid. Best I've had yet. Luckily it looks pretty cool too! Setup totally depends on your gear mate. Though I haven't done anything fancy. Chin area seems pretty quiet. That coast, wow. If you get the chance, take it!

I'm not really sure! I failed to really see the problem as the deck was still full of trucks and cars. I guess he just liked the sound of his own voice!

I know right!! We apologised VERY angrily as we left ;P I only wish the squirrel excuse would fly here in Germania! Sadly the Pipi has all ran out.
Would've been, how slow can I get my stuff ready? Then still be off before the last car for them to lower the thing.
The squirrels can't nick my baffle :(. Until I change my exhaust to, probably a scorpion can. I actually did lose my baffle on my Versys. Being thoughtful on a nightshift and put it back in, Went to take it out on a different day. No baffle to be seen.

I think the Pipi is a good enough reason for a return! I'd like to see you selling that baffling theft to a german Polizei mensch! Ian did visibly slow down when the guy started huffing. It was inversely proportional. More huffing, the slower the jacket went on! I was only in a rush cos I was excited!! :D
