I started by washing my hair, getting rid of all my product build up, and then starting the process with a colour remover. This helped remove that first, super black layer of colour, that made the bleaching process easier. I then bleached it all with 20 volume developer, which got me to a level 7, super orange base. I also had massive banding at my roots, so I colour corrected that to match my ends, and finally went in with a muted, rosy dye that left me with a gorgeous, dusty rose colour!

Bleaching not dyeing
My hair was exactly like that in 1990 when I was a trainee hairdresser, same cut and colour, it's great to see it making a re appearance!
pro tip for everyone: be careful bleaching freshly washed hair. the oils on your scalp help protect you. it is PAINFUL to bleach a clean head. it burns really, really bad.
yeah I thought that was an interesting recommendation from Stella- I never see it advised anywhere to wash before bleaching and that water ''protects'' the hair?
My thoughts exactly. I was terrified when I saw her bleaching her freshly washed hair 😱

@@romy7408 she wasnt bleaching but using a color remover ^^
@@waseabi5220 she bleached after doing a color remover (which still contains a little bleach) meaning she washed her hair and all the oils and remaining oils were then stripped with the color remover and THEN she bleached. There was nothing left to protect her scalp. And on top of that she exfoliated her scalp before hand which causes little abrasions on your scalp. Just like itching your head does.

Might sound silly but thank you so much for editing the hairdryer sound out! My 2 year old has sensory issues and a big thing that sets him off is hairdryer/hoover noises. He loves watching hair videos cuddled up especially when he’s tired so as much as it’s not an issue it was appreciated to not need to quickly mute the video ☺️
When I bleached my hair that was dyed with permanent color, when I rinsed it my hair felt like there were tiny balls on it and very straw like. After tons of conditioner it was ok, but the feeling of hair scared me to pieces. Your hair looks gorgeous.
There is this L'oreal hair balm called Total Repair 5 that is really good! It bring your hair back from the dead (feel wise) real fast! It's usually in a yellow pot but in my country is a white pot with a red lid!

Invest in k18, that truly fixes your hair permanently.
The only way to permanently repair your hair is by cutting off the dead ends no product on the market can permanently fix her hair It's impossible products can only temporarily fix the hair
