    Good point on backup generator.

    Beyond ventilation, I like all-electric because it eliminates one utility bill. Another great thing is you eliminate the carbon monoxide threat from the kitchen. That said, a great use for propane is a backup generator, which lets your all-electric house run no matter what happens.

      Agreed. Propane generator not a bad plan! And solar I think should be entertained

    My current home is all electric so I am good with that and it makes sense. I do plan on having gas available but only because I want to have a generator..... and maybe a gas fire feature around the back porch.

      Yes, I just recommend everybody be smart about the design and make good choices about appliances, etc.

    Like all important decisions, you have to weigh the pros vs the cons. IMO, there's strengths to both. I prefer gas, but I had not considered the air tightness issues that must be a considered with gas. Electric is great until it's down and out for some reason. There are lots of things to think about.

      Yes ofcourse everyone has to weigh out for themselves. Maybe do your gas cooking outside… and get a propane backup generator! 🤠👍

    Hi I really enjoy your videos and I would like you to talk about the insulation. Where you put open cell foam and why and where the closed cell foam goes? Thank you

    I love the all electric concept and having the tightest home possible. my next home is going to have heat pump everything including clothes dryer so there is no venting needed. I have an 80 gallon heat pump water heater and I love it. maybe one day I'll have one of those sanden split system heat pump water heaters. so much of HVAC focuses on heating and cooling and completely ignores ventilation and humidity - I love your rounded approach. what are your thoughts on bathroom fans? I really wish I could just add a dehumidifier to the bathroom instead of venting that air out and creating negative air pressure in the home.

    No matter my choice I will use ERV makeup fresh air. Too many out-gas consequences in every new build and everything we buy. Still need to ventilate for cooking on electric. I also like the inductive stoves but with all the hubbub over over-abundance negative EMF frequencies the inductive tops are a question. I have a single burner I will test with a TRI field meter.

    Oh look winter time and the electric is out, no cooking or heat for me… oops wait, I have a gas fireplace and stove. Well, won’t starve or freeze to death. Thanks gas… always have a backup so you can cook and have heat, regardless of where you live. Thanks, I’ll take the little bit of up charge having both as a piece of mind.

      Sure 👍 but you can also have a propane generator and have all of those things too.

    I have to use a propane stove and generator everything else electric inside. I will be using an erv anyway.

    I wanted to mount solar panels on the roof of the barndo, do you recommend installing the solar system during the barndo build or waiting a year to see how much power I will need to generate to use as few line KWH from the power lines?

    • @TexasBestBarndominium
      @TexasBestBarndominium  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think you’d want to maybe plan ahead with the design to see about additional needs for the mounting brackets. Good question

    A second question I have, having an airtight barn, dominium, and going all electric in the home, what about windows? Instead of having double hung windows would it be smart to have solid glass maintaining good air quality in the home?

      Somethings actually are a little more efficient with Electric. Better efficiencies so there’s less demand on electric and maybe going solar could be great options. Having gas for like a back up generator is not a bad idea.

    Ask yourself this one question, "Are there any restaurants to cook with electric appliances only ?" The answer is no there in not, you can not beat the flame for cooking. I personally would not consider an all electric kitchen...
