@@guyrobillard1498 I forgot Unfortunately we would not be able to do that today because thanks to tRump we are a divided nation it's hard for me to say this shit people need help in Florida and won't even ask for help because they believe a trump lie rather then getting the help that's available. Pure evil now our enemies don't need to attack half this country would be happy to attack the other half for trump.

I was 15 when Bin Laden was killed and since my dad is(now retired) Navy, was living in an area with a heavy military presence. That night was electric. Felt real good to avenge the man who had caused so much pain to our nation. Probably one of the most patriotic days I can remember.

the other thing to realize these to team represent the two communities directly affected by 9/11. The New York Mets play in New York and the Phillies where the game is being played is in the state of Pennsylvania where flight 93 crashed so it means a little more to both of these fan bases

I’m a Red Sox fan, and the phillys Mets rivalry is pretty much only second to the Red Sox Yankees rivalry. Watching the the phillys and Mets fans hug and chant and sing chokes me up every time, just like Yankees fans singing Sweet Caroline after the Boston marathon bombing or the Sox fans wearing Yankees gear after 9/11. We’re Americans and even though we disagree on pretty much everything I think we love each other for the most part and we come together when it matters most

Crazy how emotional this video can make me feel. I have zero connection to New York, haven't even been to NYC, and didn't know a single person who died or was related to someone who died in the attack. And yet, I'll almost shed tears watching this video. I imagine because the attack, the hunt for Bin Laden, the war - it spanned across so, so much of my life. From middle school into young adulthood. It just feels like this incredible rush of both sadness and pride. I'm so proud of my country.

Well they were both large evacuations, besides that, that's about the only thing in common. The people evacuated after 911 were evacuated in 9 hours and not over the course of over several days, they weren't surrounded by an Army with the objective to kill them or capture them and there were no allied forces in combat trying to delay an enemy force to allow time to rescue them and 90.000 weren't captured or killed by anybody like the Soldiers unable to be rescued at Dunkirk.

Too many people forget the fate of those on United flight 93 that was also hijacked on 9/11 and crashed into a field (about 2 hours from Philadelphia) as the passengers fought the hijackers. That's another reason that these 2 teams (New York and Philadelphia) were so perfect for this moment. Every American was impacted but those living in the areas (states) most impacted ... well, it's just very powerful.

YEAH. A year or two ago my teenage daughter said “I *JUST* LEARNED ABOUT THE 4TH PLANE! I had no idea!!”
Then she asked me if they knew what the plan had been… I told her that the investigation found that it was probably the US Capitol building.
Her response; “OH MY GOD. This country would have been F*CKED.”
She’s not wrong… which makes it even more infuriating that any soul doesn’t know what heroes they were

SEAL team six is no joke. All of the US Special Forces are literally that, special. From Delta, to Rangers, to SEALs, if you hear of an operation involving those guys, know that it wasn't just for America. If you wanna see another incredible video of our special forces, look up the rescue of Jessica Buchannan. Pretty sure that was SEALs too. There was a point in the operation where they literally throw themselves on her to shield her from gunfire.

What is ironic is that President Obama spoke in the 9th inning, and the score was tied 1-1. For those of us watching the game, it was 9-1-1 at Citizen's Park when President Obama made the announcement to the world. 9/11 was even at the baseball game 10 years later when we finally got him. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Bin Laden hit my radar in 1996 when a friend of mine was...unalived...by his group. I bought a bottle of scotch, and that bottle went around the world with me on my travels, when I could carry it. I worked counterterrorism, off and on, through the late 90s, watching attack after attack, as our overseas intelligence assets were gutted by the administration in power at the time. I said that The Towers would be the target again and, ironically, made an offhand comment about aircraft, which I thought was crazy (because of the logistics involved), and went on to other projects. Imagine my shock, and everyone's surprise, when my comment proved disastrously feasible on 9/11.
After 9/11, I worked counterterrorism, counternarcotics, human trafficking, weapons proliferation and smuggling, and counterpiracy operations. When I left The Community in 2007, I still had that bottle of scotch, now covered in dust.
Fast forward to 2011. I'm on my deck, grilling steaks for dinner, and my cell rings with an unlisted number. I usually don't answer those, but I did this time. They said my military rank (which I hadn't held since 2001), to which I said, "Yes." The voice on the other end asked if I had the precursor program to Telegram loaded (name escapes me at the moment), to which I agreed. The voice on the other end said, "A mutual friend told me you needed to see this," then hung up. Phone call took all of maybe thirty seconds. When the alert popped up on my screen, I opened the attachment, and there was a picture of UBL with two extra holes in his face. After about thirty seconds, it deleted itself.
I turned off the grill, went inside, blew the dust off the bottle, and cracked it open. I poured two fingers, toasted my friend, toasted whoever had finally gotten him (didn't know who it was at this point), then toasted UBL's soul into Hell. My wife came in at this point, saw the bottle, then me, and asked, "Good news?" I nodded. "Are you going to be able to tell me what it is?" she asked. I shook my head, but told her to watch the news in a few hours because then EVERYONE would know. The President announced about two hours later.
