- This historic Victorian-era farmhouse - known as the Arrowhead Springs Mansion in Newmanstown, PA - was relocated a couple hundred yards down the road to a new location to save it from demolition.
The building is a timber frame structure with some stone veneer, a large surrounding porch and a distinctive 4-story tower near the front. The house was moved by remote-control on the Buckingham Power Dolly System. Onlookers gathered to watch the move, including several local private schools.

So if I ever want to possibly move my entire house, I could?
I have a 100 year old farm house that I must move a half mile. How difficult/expensive to move 2 fireplaces?
Is it better to remove the fireplace?
Hi Roy, check out some of our FAQ's here... www.wolfehousebuildingmovers.com/faq/ you can also give us a call at 610-488-1020 if you have a building to move and want to discuss the details and pricing.
the craziest thing is how long people have been moving homes like this, except back in the 1800's and early 1900's they didnt have all the hydraulics and engine/computer powered machinery
In the 1830s it was screw jacks, huge greased beams, and horse power. Probably chains and steel wheels and other heavy duty stuff of the time. But yeah, old school. People been movin' ships and stuff forever. Man finds a way.
You can check indian videos. They still move buildings without any computer operated device and equipment 😂
Very nice
Did your ground lease expire or why you did this? 😅
how much does that cost? My guess is $50-$100.
😂😂 I hope that's a joke.... well, if you're being serious allow me to correct you. I am currently in the process of doing this with a house and I had 2 contractors come out to give me a quote. One said he'd do it for 20k. The other 32k. That does not include the costs of moving electrical wires over the road. But it will include them actually installing the house on my property.
you mean $50-$100 millions
@@Abhishek-yh7zcit’s about $25,000.00 to $75,000.00 depending on distance and overhead wires
yay
Times have changed. Its a lot easier.
Theirs no way people pull this kind of stuff off without atleast causing minor damage to the house.
Probably 3x the price of what the house is worth
Depends on how you measure value.
it depends on the how big is the house but usually it's about 50,000
I lift and move houses in Louisiana and it actually increases the value of the house down here because it will be above flood Elevation but we are lifting structures sometimes 20 ft in the air
Why are they dressed like its 1805
Amish
@@Timman57 no. cause some are using phones and thers 3 girls wearing modern shoes like crocs and one is holding her phone there only dressed like amish to celebrate the history
THANK YOU!
These are Amish People using our Modern Equipment for their gain. They're definetely going against their old Customs and religion.
