Well i reckon that was a good honest review. Exactly what was wanted. I'm sure you did read the instructions and just reported the switch difficulty as your use-case. Cheers.
Thanks Mathew! It does seem, given the other commentary, that my unit may have just had a little issue. But I think I still would have preferred an anologue on/off switch. Especially when kids are using it.
I picked this combo up recently and and just now unpacked it while watching your video. For what its worth, I was able to fit the faucet inside the unit through the lid with the vent along with the other accessories after. Might need a separate mesh bag for the little odds and ends and one for the faucet to prevent scratches on the interior.
I have the water jug and was looking at the faucet for $80. I appreciate your review that the faucet isn’t needed and the jug alone is quite useful and significantly cheaper
Thank you letting me know. Other users have pointed out that the issues I had with double tapping to turn on and off are not universal, and that you can get the faucet inside for storage. So those two parts of my impressions need to be considered with a pinch of salt. But yes, still pretty cool without the faucet. You definitely don't need the lux tap.
There are several other pump faucets on the market that seem like they would work better and are cheaper. My question is do you know what type of fitting this one uses at the top to plug in to the jug is it like a standard Camelback fitting?
I might be interested in Tank because of nice quality. But Like you said, I can buy similar one from ebay for 1/3 or less. I might get from there. Thanks for real life video!
Thank you! I agree. I like the product and enjoyed having it while I did, but it's a luxury item you don't need to have to enjoy a camping trip. It's a "nice to have"
Honestly, it really didn't look like you were double tapping, it looked like you were single tapping, hard pressing or long pressing to turn it on instead of a double tap. The benefit of a double tap vs. a single tap or even a physical button is that the double tap prevents you from accidentally turning it on.
Yeah, it was a bit of theatre. I had been having ongoing problems with it ahead of that moment on camera. Sometimes it did work on one-tap,. sometimes two. My point was, my experience was that too often it wasn't turning on, and you were left tapping like an idiot.
So the instructions sheet that is packaged with the faucet/tap is a little vague on two key points. The first being that nowhere is it clearly stated: "Two touches for ON then one touch for OFF." The second being "when is the unit fully charged?" The red blinking light goes out after a few mins but if unplugged from the USB charge power source then plugged right back in, the charge light will blink red again for another 15 mins... This ain't right. The charge light should illuminate in green, or something, when peak charge is reached. Good grief. And nowhere! online! is there any charge info other than the three blinks, pause, three blinks, pause, three blinks for Low Battery.
Especially more challenging when the first time you use it is camping in the middle of nowhere, lol. Unfortunately, shortly after this video I lost all my stuff in a house fire, so I was never able to take it for more tests and can't check this out for you. Hopefully another member of the community can?
Are you talking about the tap or jug. It comes out great from the jug for filling water bottles or kettles and so forth, even for rinsing plates. Not enough for a shower head. In this video I filled up a 600ml bottle in just a few seconds. Unfortunately I've since lost the tap to a fire, so can't test it for you. I'll shoot the guys and email and see if they have an official position.
@@HWAFFI It comes out at a decent clip. Owen Wright, pro surfer and ambassador for Dometic, told me he uses the tap hose as a shower to rinse himself off when he gets out of the ocean. Puts the jug on the roof and uses gravity alone to do it. I haven't tried that myself, but he was happy with it.
Read instructions before making a review. It taps exact 1 liter every time. Works with me every time. No problems with the on/off. two taps is on, one tap is off. licht underneath for at night. The Faucet fits in the Jerrycan through the service opening. Do your job, or don't do it.
Thank you for adding your experience to the mix. I'm glad to hear yours worked with the tapping. Mine didn't. Especially for the kids. And I can only talk to my experience. For me, the button doesn't work as instructed consistently. And I don't think it is easy to store, protect and remove the tap in the jug. But as I said, if your experience was different, that's great to hear.
@@Profsr_Ecks Maybe it's my dumb fat fingers, but I think an anlogue in and out would just be easy and clear. There is no indication as to whether you have done it right or not.
Yeah that wasn't working for me consistently, unfortunately. Think I may have had a bit of a dud or was doing it askew. Seems to be working for most people.

Thank you for adding your experience to the conversation. Looks like I missed that one as others have mentioned they could get it inside, too.

Not 100% sure as I no longer have the device to look up for you. But there's definitely a premium price attached to the Dometic brand.

Legend.
Thanks!
you need to read the instructions man. double tap the faucet and it works awesome
Yep, everyone keeps saying that. But didn't work for me. Must have been bung.
Double tap on one tap off very easy to use. That way the kids can't just tap it on and waste all your water
Yeah, I got a dud.
what do you think of LPM rate no one has stated its actual rate

Double tap to turn on. Single tap to turn off
Yep, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
@@motivatedtravel still? Wow that IS a faulty design, then.

Read the directions..tap it twice to turn on faucet

wish the inside was stainless steel
Interesting; what's your thinking? To keep it cooler? Use it to hold hot water? Or just for better protection when storing things inside?
