Anyone who are into luxury items should watch your videos! There are just too many videos about buying and buying, but wise and practical ones like yours are hard to come by. Keep it up, Eileen!
I think fashion is a journey. The things I once bought I now wouldn’t buy because of trial and error. I now buy things that suit my lifestyle. I also purchase things that I like , not what influencers say I should have.
I don’t buy high end designer stuff as I don’t like to break my bank. But I do buy mid range designer items . I’ve been more selective and intentional about things I buy.. I will give some time to myself to think snd buy. I buy less and only what I love.. I enjoy items I bought.. this minimalism changed my life as I don’t have clutter in my house and I can now use all things I bought with my hard earned money... my philosophy now is have few nice quality items and enjoy them rather than falling in the rut of always buying stuff.
I agree on mostly everything, especially not buying designer costume jewelry, clothes that require dry clothing or alterations, and handbags with delicate leather (ie bags that need to be babied).
Michelle Kerrigan I think it depends but in general I agree with this. I did however want a particular colored bag that I knew I would only wear maybe once or twice a year so I purposefully got it at an outlet and I have not looked back.
Hi Eileen! I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve cut down my makeup collection soo much over the years and it’s really helped me save for other items I really love and will keep in my collection forever like handbags and jewellery pieces ☺️
I agree with you but some times clothing needs alterations, I say this as a design major. If a person works in an office and they wear suits they make them in standard sizes and the human body is not made in standard size. Other than that I agree with what you said.
True. Often if you buy an item it will be ok, but altering makes it fit like a glove! It really makes a difference between something that looks ok vs something that looks absolutely stunning. I let my blazer alter & got already so many compliments on it and that s because it looks like its made for me
Not everyone has a body that matches standard sizes. Alterations make your clothes fit and look much better. And having a jacket tailored just for you is wonderful.
I don't disagree 😀 In fact I believe tailoring can sometimes bring out the best of a piece of garment and add so much personalisation. I'm just a bit too lazy for the chore xx
I’m a titch so any trousers I buy have to be taken up a lot, but then I will get a couple of years wear out of them - often more - so it is definitely a necessity for me.
Your voice is so soothing to me! 🖤 I just binged watched half the videos on your channel. Happy I found you!!! Helping me prioritize my future purchases in a better way while listening to such a lovely and calming person has been a great pass time for me during my recovery from surgery 🖤 Thank you for sharing all of your tips with us!
Such a great video. I totally agree: -Regarding outlet shopping, I remember reading several years ago that outlet/sale shopping is only a good deal if you actually need the item. So I try to do a lot of research and wait for a sale, otherwise I buy full price. Like you said, it is cheaper in the long run. - I’m still unable to let go of my love for costume jewelry, probably because I don’t have the items I want. I would like to have a small collection made up of a couple of Chanel earrings, necklace or two, and maybe three Hermes classic bracelets. I have some fine jewelry pieces and think that adding a few classic luxury pieces is reasonable. Plus you are owning a piece that is representative of the fashion house. I’m not planning to get a large collection. -Just like you, i stopped buying high heels. I bought a few in the past that I barely used. The only high heel I bought full price was a medium high black Louboutin pumps because they are classic. I wanted them as my “nice” going out shoes.
I have concluded that everything I see and think is beautiful doesn't mean I have to buy and own it. I can enjoy the item with out actually owning it. Its so nice to have less things in my home that clutter my mind.
I so agree with you on outlet shopping. You get so tempted by the “bargains” that you buy things you don’t need or things that end up sitting in your closet. I’d rather spend full price on something that I really want even if I have to wait until I can afford it. In recent years I’m buying quality over quantity. I’m trying to declutter my wardrobe as well as my entire home as I just feel overwhelmed with so much choice.
i love your thought process and philosophy. more does not mean better. quality and being able to actually equally love and use most pieces is best imo!
Yes, I agree with you. I was a shopaholic but now I’m slowly just narrowing down my closet to be curated to my style. I tried the flashy colors but I never wore them. One thing I have stopped buying is luxury sunglasses, I only ever reach for the same Céline pair I have. So, I never end up using the 20+ others I own. Great video! And your voice is so calming.
I completely agree with you. Recently there was a big sale happening and you could just feel the pressure mounting to buy, buy, buy!. The quality was not even there, but the pressure was enormous. Like you, I sometimes prefer to pay full price and get the one item I really want. Very good points Eileen. Thank you.
Hi Eileen, you are the person that I look up in terms of buying luxury items. Keeping all of these in mind bring more joy than mindless shopping. I realised too that I can enjoy the item more when I try to defer buying it.
I am slowly trying to curate my wardrobe. I have spent many years buying pieces that end up not being used, then I sell them. It's so hard because each season, houses like Hermes and Dior come out with so many beautiful pieces, but it is useless to have multiple items when you just will never use them.
I will not buy products with big logos / names all over them. Discrete is fine but I prefer not to be a free walking billboard for products that clearly can afford to pay for their own advertising. My mother always said people who wear big signs revealing the product they are wearing likely can't afford them. Ha!
I just found your videos this week when I needed some help to figure out which designer pouch bag to buy as I don’t carry many things on a daily basis. I have watched a lot of your videos in the last few days and they are so helpful. Thank you so much for all you do to bring us this amazing content!
Thank you Eileen for sharing! Totally agree with you. I am decluttering my home and my collections. Just keep the things I absolutely love and donate the rest. ^_^
agree w you 100%. If we all are not chasing after "the latest trend" and focus on what we need, we will all be in a happier mental state and we will have a better planet too.
But if you buy on sale, and find an item that needs altering, you can get massive savings and a unique item. I still get compliments for checked pants that when I bought them were flared widely. I got the flare taken in they are so warm and fabulous! Because I'm tall and slim I'm more of a dramatic style, so I can be adventurous. If you go only for one colour no patterns, it's elongating whereas I break the colours up and wear patterns, but not all my wardrobe is patterns, a small but dramatic percentage is. So I'd say that it's essential to know your body type and styles that suit. I don't do for romantic looks. So even when bargain hunting I'm very particular about what I'm going for. Dramatic as well as classic. Totally agree about not needing small leather goods SLGs. I have one that's a circular coin purse made of crocodile skin a gift from a friend. Would I have bought it for myself? No way!
We share so many similarities when comes to shopping such as no buy for costume jewelleries, slgs, bag charms, clothes that requires dry cleaning and many more. Look forward to your next video. Stay safe :)
Some items can be hand washed, the manufacturers just put dry clean only to save themselves the hassle of people who can't do things properly and ruin the item, blaming them. It's a bit trial and error but also steaming can work really well on refreshing items like coats and jackets. You can also get spot cleaning fluid and use it sparingly. It works really well!
I agree. I spend a lot of money with alterations because I’m petite I usually have my dresses or pants hemmed. There’s limited selections on petite clothing
I feel you! To be honest if the store offers tailoring I might actually go for it. When I bought my Burberry trench coat, the sleeves were too long but they offered to alter and send to me, so deal was sealed xx
Eileen, I have made same mistakes. Many many mistakes.. I started decluttering the mess and I feel so much happier when I open my wardrobe. Less is more
I totally agree with your points. I find myself shopping the same way these days. There are so many things I used to waste money on that I no longer desire.
So true! I think the 'been there, done that" part of me is now telling me, even beautiful things are just objects. They should serve us, and not the other way round xx
So true with SLGs. They are hidden away in a bag so it doesn’t matter if the colours do not co-ordinate. Plus the costs are not proportional to hand bags.
Great video. Like you, I don't like accessorizing my bags. And you're absolutely right, I wasted a lot of money shopping for unnecessary items in outlet stores!
I have basically the same shopping philosophy as you! And I agree that clothes should fit as best as possible, but I have to say as someone who is petite and has rather short legs, I can rarely find any jeans that are the perfect length on me off the rack. I think for some of us it's unavoidable and we have to get items such as pants/jeans tailored to get them to look proper on us. I used to never tailor my jeans as I thought it was a waste of money, but now I think it's actually worth the investment because it means the item fits you properly and you'll wear the item longer and more often.
Such great tips! In the last few years, I decided I was tired of buying lots of things that were on sale or I thought I was getting a “great bargain” on because it would seem like I really did get more for my money, but I usually would end up not keeping those things or just not wearing them very much for various reasons. Overall, I found I would spend more on things I wanted less. So now I just spend money on less things, but I know I really love. I find I will actually use/wear that one thing vs. buying a lot of things I don’t really like or need, even if it is full price. I actually find I am saving myself money in the long term.
Absolutelly agree. I also tried to add some bright colours to my wardrobe and I realised that I do not wear bright clothes/accessories/footwear at all! I just do not feel comfortable wearing such colours.
Very, very welcome advice. I agree with you 100 per cent. I don't know what the hype is all about buying all these luxury, very expensive bags when you only need one bag at a time. Maybe just buy one expensive one that you really like. I don't know why these influencers have got to show off their collections. Even if they have all the means and money, a lot of people don't. They end up using their credit cards to the max.
Totally agree on all except the last one, because I love dressing up my bags but I only have a few which I use and interchange on all of my bags depending on my mood. But of course, you can get away from the expenses because these are really just an added cost. But all the rest of the pointers, I also do them, especially the nail polishes and buying make-up only when I run out.
1) Anything that needs alteration 2) Outlet shopping 3) Not my colour palette 4) Louis Vuitton pieces with untreated leather 5) Small leather goods 6) Delicate leathers 7) Luxury body care products 8) Luxury costume jewellery 9) High heels 10) Clothes that need to be dry cleaned 11) Makeup (just restock on products that work for you rather than always buying new) 12) Bag charms/accessories
So many great tips, Eileen!!! 😍 I agree with so many great tips, especially buying clothes that require alteration and makeup. I think I've stopped buying makeup for 1 - 2 years already because I always use the same drugstore makeup that works for me anyways. I realised I've wasted so much money buying high end makeup which I only use once or twice, and end up throwing away because they go bad! Love your video as always and hope you have a great week ahead xx 💛
Aww I agree with so much of what you shared, however for the LV vachetta, I always spray mine with Apple Garde to prevent stains. This makes it super low maintenance and I even wear my pieces out in the rain without any problems. It patinas very nicely and evenly. 😉
Linda Svensson Smith it’s a spray leather protector that you can buy online. The vachetta will patina but it doesn’t get water marks. Works great on light color leather shoes too!
I totally agree with most of these (except makeup)-and I’m glad I’m not the only person who won’t buy vachetta leather or anything that needs dry cleaning!
I agree with all except the older i get the more i turn to lambskin over caviar. I love the luxurious and buttery feeling in my bags and i am learning to enjoy my things withiut fear of them getting old...the best way to keep a bag perfect is to leave it in your closet and i am all for enjoying and loving what i have 🥰
Hi Eileen, I have been mindless and being impulse on shopping for years....but this year I’ve changed the way I look at clothes entirely different. I am trying to put a new wardrobe that work for me. I’d love for you to do the closest tour❤️
I stop outlet shopping. Because you end up spending more by buying more. Then, you end up with a bunch of stuff you don't use, never use and no space. I have a neutral wall robe: blacks, white and grey. Perfect for funerals. 🤣. I never buy belts, don't wear them. And I don't buy designer jewellery unless they are real gold or pearls. I prefer to buy gold jewellery because they will hold their value. I buy things that I really like and don't go with the trend. I love your style and you are such a smart woman. I watch other videos and I see so many people buying stuff like crazy. I wonder when they use them.
It's always enjoying watching your vid, really relaxing when listening to your talk. I totally agree on your points and I'd also like to admit that I made similar mistake previously, like going crazy for costume jewellery and SLGs. Right now, I ended up selling 60% of them for some better purchase/for savings.
I agree with everything except for wool, cashmere sweaters and jackets which I need to dry clean. I've been living my life as a minimalist. I do have 3 luxury shoe items and that's it. I do plan to return 2 of the 3 shoes. I realize I don't need luxury in my life. As for clothes, I do buy high-street brands but wait for them to go on sale. I'm not into fast fashion and jewelry or designer hand bags. I prefer affordable brands like Tods and Bally.
Hi Eileen, great educational video as usual! so sad that i realised #2 too late and wasted a lot of $ on sale items! also #3, i didn't wanna be "boring" so i bought many diff colours but I don't reach for them! realised it's perfectly fine to wear my trusty white/grey/beige pieces.. hope that u can have a "konmari" video soon to inspire us on downsizing and curating a wardrobe! ♡♡♡
I'm in agreement on the costume jewelry. I save so i can afford real stones and metals. I also agree on designer skin and hair care. There are many drugstore brands that work well on my dry, sensitive skin.
Outlet shopping! Found a Barbour wax jacket exactly as I needed. 30% off. It was perfect. Until I used it. And realised this model had polyester lined sleeves. Just the sleeves. So it meant the whole jacket made of cotton functioned perfectly. But the polyester lined sleeves had no air circulation. It caused me to catch a terrible chill within 10 min, every time I wore it. It was only good for hanging off the shoulders. I had to get rid of it after five attempts to wear it. Totally defeated the purpose. Now I always read the material label 🏷 😳
I've read somewhere that pieces made for outlet stores are often not the same quality like those made for the normal stores. You've confirmed my doubt xx
Very much agree with your points! How do you handle clothes/shoes/bags that are still in your collection that is “extra”? For example, you have 3 pair of black jeans. All look and feel great but you don’t need them all.
If I use them all then they are good pieces in my closet. I usually start thinking about donating/selling if I don't reach for an item for about 12 months xx
Just stumbled across your channel and love it!! I really agree with the delicate leather! Even though they are sooo pretty to look at they are not worth buying if we never wear them!
This is a great way to look at things and it makes total sense! I’ve recently downsized to a smaller home and I have the daunting task of purging things I don’t love or need. This has been a struggle! I’ve just accumulated a lot in a larger home. Do you have any advice on purging items with some sentimental value? Old pictures, clothes from valued events or gifts from important people? I know I need to get rid of more but need some advice in this area!
To be fair, I purchased a pair of YSL tributes and Gucci wedges from an outlet store, which I was thinking of purchasing retail anyway. So tjat was pretty good. However it remains true that outlets/sales can mess up our rationality 😂
so agree with you.i use to buy alot of outlet bag and alot brand I don't like that much. because I think chanel and Hermes it's so over price. but I already sold all the 20 bags.now I'm going to focus on the two brands I love such as chanel and Hermes. thank your video love from Taiwan
@@ColourfulNoir I use to buy trend bag. and always go for ysl or Gucci.and after I see ever your video .realize alot my bag I don't like enough and all the price I spend for all this bag I can save to buy something I will wear forever such as chanel and hermes. after I sold all my bag I lost so much money.so now I know before I buy anything must see your video first.love your video from Taiwan
I’m with you on the body care! I treat myself to one scented shower gel and body lotion for spring-summer and likewise for autumn-winter to use alongside my Aveeno unscented products. This way I get it to last two seasons. The same with perfume which I love. A 50ml bottle for summer and another for winter lasts me 2 years with daily wear. I do buy expensive makeup but I really try to limit myself and I use them up and take part in #ProjectPan2020. Same with clothes. Nothing still new with tags in my wardrobe, I wear an item until it’s worn out and replace with something that will go with most things. Getting dressed is far less stressful this way. You’re so right - mindful shopping is the way to go.
Aww thank you!! I used to use my coin purse a lot, but in the last 12 months I've been trying my best to use contactless instead. So at the moment, the coin purse is fairly redundant for me xx
So agree with you Eileen! I ended up spending thousands at outlet buying things that are not what I really need lol. It happened twice. So now I don't really go...
Did not think about the altering. I’m short so with me it’s inevitable but it’s something good to think about. Agree with SLGs I don’t get why people have so many. I have one, a cardholder. I also agree with LV vachetta. I live in a Oregon and it rains so much. I got my bum bag and after that I decided. No more vachetta. I love my bum bag but I don’t want to be worried about the vachetta or want that experience again (me worrying about water marks). Agree with costume jewelry. I want a Chanel brooch but $700+ that’s half a bag.
Mackey媽咪愛寶寶 Right. And, the metal is at least gold plated.I suppose she’ll keep her CDC bracelet. She seems to love it, and it really does suit her well. :)
Hey Mitch, it's lovely to have you here! I think the girls answered your question. I usually don't buy pieces made of silver and faux pearls like the Chanel earrings. Hermes bracelets are indeed costume jewelry but at least they are gold plated and the leather quality is amazing 😉 I doubt I'll be adding more though xx
Ditto & agree with everything in ur list especially the costume jeweleries & bag charms!! This year is a "spring cleaning" year for me, in an attepmt to have a more curated wardrobe & am trying to minimize material items. I'm always one to value experience (e.g. vacations) more.. but somehow over the past 2 years got sucked into this madness 😅😅. Question: Have u decided / did you manage to sell all the items u mentioned in ur previous vid? TQ for yet another educational & informative vid, stay safe, take care & cheers!
4 pieces of cardholders from chanel still can't get a seasonal handbag from chanel. At least 8 card holders are needed. I think those who can't afford the handbags just buy cardholders as a consolation to commemorate the collection.
Card holders and SLGs can be hard to resist for sure! I'm very much into neutral palette but I'm quite open with colours for SLGs, so seeing them in all those gorgeous colours really tempted me in the past xx
@@ColourfulNoir same here.but i have 2 cardholders n i find that excessive already haha. I find their medium o case more value for money instead. Have the classic signs n hold quite a bit.price is also reasonable.

When I was young I was mad for fendy, parda and gucci. Now, I don't care for them. It's where you are at the stage of life.

Spot on ideas. Especially the tip on avoiding outlets. Most often, the quality isn’t there because items are manufactured for outlets.
I've heard several people say the say about quality concerns regarding outlet pieces. I won't be visiting soon xx
It is, sometimes you can’t even find the style on regular store.
Michelle Kerrigan I think it depends but in general I agree with this. I did however want a particular colored bag that I knew I would only wear maybe once or twice a year so I purposefully got it at an outlet and I have not looked back.

Thank you for sharing Lana! I think you're right, if tailoring makes the clothing fit like a glove, it's really worth the penny xx
Thank you for publishing this video. This is the wavelength that I am on and truly it feels more content here.
Glad it was helpful!xx
You have a wonderfully inspiring common sense!
Thank you so much xx
Such great tips! In the last few years, I decided I was tired of buying lots of things that were on sale or I thought I was getting a “great bargain” on because it would seem like I really did get more for my money, but I usually would end up not keeping those things or just not wearing them very much for various reasons. Overall, I found I would spend more on things I wanted less. So now I just spend money on less things, but I know I really love. I find I will actually use/wear that one thing vs. buying a lot of things I don’t really like or need, even if it is full price. I actually find I am saving myself money in the long term.
I definitely avoid luxury scarves and twillies. I can't imagine having a scarf from Louis Vuitton get pulls or pills!
Absolutelly agree. I also tried to add some bright colours to my wardrobe and I realised that I do not wear bright clothes/accessories/footwear at all! I just do not feel comfortable wearing such colours.
Thanks for sharing!! Sounds like you gravitate towards neutral palette like me 🧚♀️
Very, very welcome advice.
Thanks for sharing!!xx
Thank you Eileen .. you are very practical and I love your videos.
Glad you like them! Thank you xx
We have so much in common. Everything you mentioned...I don’t buy anymore. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!xx
I like your approach to luxury so many show offs and hoarders here that your constructive calm approach is refreshing
Thank you Gia xx
Gia Kaur I so agree
I don’t usually buy bright colour items, but that bright red Hermes Constance in your thumbnail is gorgeous!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Haha I agree! It's something I'll never buy but it looks absolutely lovely xx
Your videos are so helpful and so logical when it comes to purchasing luxury. I really enjoy watching and always look forward to your videos.
That really means a lot, thank you!xx
So happy I saw this at the start of the year helped set some goals for myself!
I'm so glad!xx
I totally agree with you! I regret so much that I spent too much money on 👠. Especially now I don’t wear them at all.
High heels often come with super high cost per wear. I now prefer to admire them on Carrie Bradshaw in the TV lol xx
Great content ! I love your down to earth approach to luxury. Please keep it up !
Thanks so much!xx
Great points! Great take on mindful shopping. I'm enjoying this topic! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Tracy! I do a lot of mindful shopping videos, do come back for more xx
😇
I agree 100%. I also have cut back on designer sunglasses.
I love my sunglasses! I don't own many pairs but I always go for quality just so I can keep them for a long time xx
Your videos are so insightful. I agree with you on many things. Especially the higher end hair oils. I love olive oil too and so does my hair.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad my content is relatable to you xx
Thank you! I always appreciate your smart shopping advice.
That's really sweet of you, thank you Doreen xx
1) Anything that needs alteration
2) Outlet shopping
3) Not my colour palette
4) Louis Vuitton pieces with untreated leather
5) Small leather goods
6) Delicate leathers
7) Luxury body care products
8) Luxury costume jewellery
9) High heels
10) Clothes that need to be dry cleaned
11) Makeup (just restock on products that work for you rather than always buying new)
12) Bag charms/accessories
You are so sensible and relatable and I completely agree. If I don't love it, I don't buy it. xo
Thank you! xx
You are an inspiration, Eileen! Also please do a video on your shoe collection. Stay safe!
Hi Dana, I've done a shoe collection video before, my collection is pretty much still the same th-cam.com/video/CJznDw10uk4/w-d-xo.html
Enjoy xx
Colourful Noir I just finished watching your video. You’re right, I enjoyed it vm. Thank you!
This video is excellent. You touched on some great points!
Glad it was helpful!xx
Great perspective. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!xx
So many great tips, Eileen!!! 😍 I agree with so many great tips, especially buying clothes that require alteration and makeup. I think I've stopped buying makeup for 1 - 2 years already because I always use the same drugstore makeup that works for me anyways. I realised I've wasted so much money buying high end makeup which I only use once or twice, and end up throwing away because they go bad! Love your video as always and hope you have a great week ahead xx 💛
You are so welcome! Glad you found the video helpful xx
I kinda like your minimalist luxury collection. I would like to emulate it someday. goals.
Thanks Justina! xx
Aww I agree with so much of what you shared, however for the LV vachetta, I always spray mine with Apple Garde to prevent stains. This makes it super low maintenance and I even wear my pieces out in the rain without any problems. It patinas very nicely and evenly. 😉
Thank you so much for sharing! I must admit I wasn't aware of this little trick at all xx
@@ColourfulNoir You're so welcome! We all learn from one another here. xo
@@hellocatwalkcity what is Apple Garde?
Linda Svensson Smith it’s a spray leather protector that you can buy online. The vachetta will patina but it doesn’t get water marks. Works great on light color leather shoes too!
Give very good lesson to us not to waste money especially during this period of times.
Thank you xx
I totally agree with most of these (except makeup)-and I’m glad I’m not the only person who won’t buy vachetta leather or anything that needs dry cleaning!
Not buying vachetta leather from Louis Vuitton certainly helps to shorten my wish list a lot!xx
I agree with all except the older i get the more i turn to lambskin over caviar. I love the luxurious and buttery feeling in my bags and i am learning to enjoy my things withiut fear of them getting old...the best way to keep a bag perfect is to leave it in your closet and i am all for enjoying and loving what i have 🥰
Love that! Things are to be enjoyed after all xx
Hi Eileen, I have been mindless and being impulse on shopping for years....but this year I’ve changed the way I look at clothes entirely different. I am trying to put a new wardrobe that work for me. I’d love for you to do the closest tour❤️
Thank you for sharing! I'll for sure look into it xx
I second this! I’d also love a closet tour! 💕 (I’m trying to slim down mine & would love some inspiration.)
You sound like a very rational shopper 😇 Thank you for sharing xx
It's always enjoying watching your vid, really relaxing when listening to your talk.
I totally agree on your points and I'd also like to admit that I made similar mistake previously, like going crazy for costume jewellery and SLGs.
Right now, I ended up selling 60% of them for some better purchase/for savings.
I'm so glad you found my content relatable! Mindful shopping all the way xx
Solid list. Makes lots of sense.
Thank you so much xx
I agree with everything except for wool, cashmere sweaters and jackets which I need to dry clean. I've been living my life as a minimalist. I do have 3 luxury shoe items and that's it. I do plan to return 2 of the 3 shoes. I realize I don't need luxury in my life. As for clothes, I do buy high-street brands but wait for them to go on sale. I'm not into fast fashion and jewelry or designer hand bags. I prefer affordable brands like Tods and Bally.
All great points! Thank you for this video 🥰
Thanks for watching!xx
Hi Eileen, great educational video as usual! so sad that i realised #2 too late and wasted a lot of $ on sale items! also #3, i didn't wanna be "boring" so i bought many diff colours but I don't reach for them! realised it's perfectly fine to wear my trusty white/grey/beige pieces.. hope that u can have a "konmari" video soon to inspire us on downsizing and curating a wardrobe! ♡♡♡
Marie Kondo changed my life! I will look into it, it should be a fun video to do xx
@@ColourfulNoir i really hope u can do, looking forward to ur new video! you inspire me to be as calm, zen & elegant as u!
I'm in agreement on the costume jewelry. I save so i can afford real stones and metals. I also agree on designer skin and hair care. There are many drugstore brands that work well on my dry, sensitive skin.
Thank you! Glad you could relate xx
Love your logical way of shopping!
Thank you! xx
@@ColourfulNoir 👍👜😊
Eileen, thank you for sharing your experience! Love your videos ✨🍃
Thank you so much!xx
Very much agree with your points! How do you handle clothes/shoes/bags that are still in your collection that is “extra”? For example, you have 3 pair of black jeans. All look and feel great but you don’t need them all.
If I use them all then they are good pieces in my closet. I usually start thinking about donating/selling if I don't reach for an item for about 12 months xx
Just stumbled across your channel and love it!! I really agree with the delicate leather! Even though they are sooo pretty to look at they are not worth buying if we never wear them!
Thank you so much!!xx
I love your personality, aura, advice & content! Thank you for bringing us luxury lovers back down to earth! xo
Thank you so much!!xx
Nice advices! These are surely based on long experience and learn from mistakes!👏🏼💕
Some expensive lessons for sure xx
This video was very smart and concise. It’s hard to disagree
Thank you! xx
Very nice and I completely agree. I am really trying to be better at this. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!xx
This is a great way to look at things and it makes total sense! I’ve recently downsized to a smaller home and I have the daunting task of purging things I don’t love or need. This has been a struggle! I’ve just accumulated a lot in a larger home. Do you have any advice on purging items with some sentimental value? Old pictures, clothes from valued events or gifts from important people? I know I need to get rid of more but need some advice in this area!
I find taking pictures really softens the blow of departing with sentimental items xx
To be fair, I purchased a pair of YSL tributes and Gucci wedges from an outlet store, which I was thinking of purchasing retail anyway. So tjat was pretty good. However it remains true that outlets/sales can mess up our rationality 😂
Thank you for sharing Izza xx
Been binge watching your videos 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much xx
so agree with you.i use to buy alot of outlet bag and alot brand I don't like that much. because I think chanel and Hermes it's so over price. but I already sold all the 20 bags.now I'm going to focus on the two brands I love such as chanel and Hermes. thank your video
love from Taiwan
20 bags, what a record! How's your selling experience been like? xx
Thank you so much for sharing! I wasn't aware of Project Pan to be honest. I mostly used the same make up items and so I always hit pan 😆
At some point, we'll all get here after many expensive lessons. 😂🤣 Thanks for some sound advice. 😊
Too expensive!! xx
Im curious. Would u ever buy a white purse? Will that wrk with your neutral wardrobe?
Not for me to be honest, too high maintenance xx
Do you think a coin purse is a necessity?
I’m so glad I found you, your content has been extremely helpful
Aww thank you!! I used to use my coin purse a lot, but in the last 12 months I've been trying my best to use contactless instead. So at the moment, the coin purse is fairly redundant for me xx
I agree with all ur points my lady. 👍🏼❤️😘😘😘Sandy
Thank you Sandy xx
So agree with you Eileen! I ended up spending thousands at outlet buying things that are not what I really need lol. It happened twice. So now I don't really go...
In the past I would even travel for 2 hours to get to an outlet village, then spent the weekend strictly for shopping. Never again 😅
I love ❤️ Laura Mercier Vanilla Ombré lotion. It is a nice splurge! You have great advice in this video.
The scent is absolutely divine! Thank you so much for your support xx
Loved this!
Thank you xx
Did not think about the altering. I’m short so with me it’s inevitable but it’s something good to think about. Agree with SLGs I don’t get why people have so many. I have one, a cardholder. I also agree with LV vachetta. I live in a Oregon and it rains so much. I got my bum bag and after that I decided. No more vachetta. I love my bum bag but I don’t want to be worried about the vachetta or want that experience again (me worrying about water marks). Agree with costume jewelry. I want a Chanel brooch but $700+ that’s half a bag.
Thank you so much for sharing! I love hearing about my viewers' taste and preferences xx
Hey girl you forgot you love your Hermès braclet and that's costume jewelry! Hahaha stay safe! Hair amazing! Xoxoox
So true
Maybe because it’s real leather, not so much “costume” 😆😆
mitch the bag boss yes she loves her Hermes bracelets but I think she means she won’t be buying any more.😊
Mackey媽咪愛寶寶 Right.
A few items are already going to their new owners 😉
I love your video. Smart lady!
Glad it was helpful!xx
4 pieces of cardholders from chanel still can't get a seasonal handbag from chanel. At least 8 card holders are needed. I think those who can't afford the handbags just buy cardholders as a consolation to commemorate the collection.
Card holders and SLGs can be hard to resist for sure! I'm very much into neutral palette but I'm quite open with colours for SLGs, so seeing them in all those gorgeous colours really tempted me in the past xx
@@ColourfulNoir same here.but i have 2 cardholders n i find that excessive already haha. I find their medium o case more value for money instead. Have the classic signs n hold quite a bit.price is also reasonable.
well done Eileen, fabulous and elegant as always 😍
Thank you! 😊
