Ever SEE that 87.5 mph? The one in our neighborhood was good for about 70/75 mph on I-4 out east of Tampa... Around 1968 or so... About 18HP more or less.. VERY ROBUST BUILD! Like our 1954 NSU 500cc Konsul II MANY East Bloc bikes.. JAWA/CZ, DDR and USSR machines.. Meant for substandard roadways... LOVE those upside down forks... Less unsprung weight where it was important.. On THOSE potholed roads! Needing seals every so often Fine! J.C.
Can/Should the 6.2 to 1 compression ratio be increased? By milling the head?? Doming the pistons??? Increasing the Revs? Or would any power increase be gained? 16 HP from 15 CID is pretty lame... Seems like it was designed for the80 octane gas of 1930s/WWII Europe... Russia 1950s.... J.C.
