I have been watching plenty Cécred reviews just to see how it’s working for others, and maybe get additional tips/tricks. I must say your review was quite refreshing. There’s been a surge of negative reviews lately by people who haven’t used the products properly or cherry picked things assuming they’d have miraculous results, then bash the line. Your expertise in hair care and research in the ingredients that matter shone through which was really insightful! Appreciate your actual honesty! And not just saying products are good/bad to get reviews!
Thank you! I really try to be honest because I don’t gain anything extra from hyping or trashing a product line. I also posted a 1 month update that may be worth viewing if you’re considering purchasing
I purchased the full line and I personally really love everything I used - I haven’t tried the rice ferment yet bc I used the restructure treatment instead. I also wouldn’t necessarily grab the moisturizing shampoo again bc I have TPH’s Make it Rain. I honestly have no complaints. My hair looks and feels amazing. It smells amazing. And bc a little goes a long way, it seems like it will last a long time. I’m excited to see how my hair does long term with the products. I am looking forward to that hydrating conditioner and some strong hold styling products that aid in wash and gos. I’d love to see a gel or a mousse. I paired the moisture lotion with a little ecostyler and my curls are still very defined.
Your unbias professional review made me a subscriber. Thank you for giving us your years of experience along with the science of the ingredients for your great review.
I am In love with CECRED. Beyoncé put a lot of love and thought into this line. If you know her history and Ms. Tina’s history than this was something that is very aligned to them. I am using the sealing lotion and it’s so nourishing and the texture is so nice. I use it in the morning to moisturize my hair and style it. And the Oil is so luxurious and I will get it deep into my scalp and I love it. The scent was different for me but I truly enjoy it. I am new to very through hair care and I’m so happy about this line.
I bought Cecred products. So far, I used the clarifying shampoo, the hydrating shampoo, the moisturizing conditioner, hydrating lotion, and the nourishing hair oil. I think the products are very good and worth the money. My hair is natural 4c.
New subscriber! Thank you for your honest, thorough, and professional review of this brand, Cecred! I have watched quite a few videos reviewing this product line and most it not all were positive. My plan was to buy the hydrating shampoo, the hydrating conditioner (when it dropped) and the deep conditioner. After reading the ingredients of each product, I realized they all contain the patent pending fermented keratin technology. Of which is concerning to me because I am allergic to wool and wheat. The keratin is made from wool and the protein is hydrolyzed wheat. I don’t remember how far down the ingredient list these allergens are, but the fact that they are included is a risk factor for me. Again excellent professional review.
Allergies suck, but as good as these products are I can assure you you’re not missing anything. There are fantastic products out there (that I’m sure are already in your arsenal) that don’t contain ingredients you’re allergic to. But I do know how you feel, I had the same reaction to some As I Am products and they work so well! Thank you for your feedback!!
Thank you for showing your Hubby's hair. That's very inclusive. I wonder if you'll post the whole wash process? Also I noticed that you were meh on the moisturizing shampoo. The people I've seen online while they were washing their hair were able to detangle during that wash after using the scrub. Did you perhaps move too fast on that step?
It’s not a bad shampoo, I like it more than the matrix shampoo I currently have in my shower but not more than design essentials. Shampoos overall take a lot for me to be amazed by.
I have been asking professionals for weeks and no one answered. Please tell me if scrubs are good for the scalp and hair. It’s seems like it would cut or damage the hair as it strands. I’ve seen a while back where Deva curls had a scalp scrub and it caused sever hair loss! So please, as a licensed professional are scalp scrubs good for the hair and why. Thanks in advance 🙏🏽
It depends on the abrasive. I found this one to be really fine and gentle. It breaks down in seconds. But if it were something like a coarse salt or oven those plastic microbeads it would be a definite no.
I really loved your breakdown of the products. You stated you'd buy again the Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Rub. In your opinion do you think there are other clarifying shampoos for a cheaper price? The ingredient C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate is used in a lot of different brands. The price of theirs, Cecred is $38 for 8 fl oz. You are so spot on that this haircare line would appeal to a high end audience. It's expensive. What do you think is the "patent-pending bio-fermented keratin"? Nevermind, you answered the question at the end of your video. 🙂
I enjoy the shampoo, not sure if I’d personally buy it again simply because I like the instant gratification of picking things up at the store and because I can get liters and gallons of shampoo at that price. I’m not necessarily the target audience, if it were at least in stores I’d splurge occasionally. And with the patented ingredients, protein is protein when you purchase quality products so it’s cool but nothing special. An attempt at being different.
"Patent and Groundbreaking science" is just a claim that has not been verified and may never be. I asked the Chemists Corner about their take on the ingredients and they believe that it is just the normal ingredients in every other product we have been seeing and the 'patent' claim by companies is often used as a marketing tactic to unsuspecting clients and it will be thrown in the dustbin eventually.
@@TonieJ You are not crazy, sis. Brands know how to oil the machine of marketing and advertising gimmicks to draw people in and in this harsh economy, I won't be buying any product that has the same ingredients as Eden Bodyworks at triple the price because of the aesthetics and the 'I belong' club😀
Hi. I want to buy the hair lotion. I only wear wash n goes on my fine 3B high porosity hair (no chemicals or heat ever) followed by my Camille rose curl maker gel. Do you think the hair lotion is appropriate for that? I usually use a thick leave in (I live in south Florida). Thanks for the review.
Hi! I used to live in Tampa so I have a pretty good idea of the climate. This lotion paired well with foam wrap and alone (no flaking or residue). I’m confident that it’ll work well with Camille rose gel. Just use a gentle hand because you really don’t need a ton!
Silicone has its place and can be washed out with clarifying shampoo. There are also different types of silicone. It really is only a problem if you’re not using the proper shampoo. Personallyi like it in my sellers but don’t need it much in my shampoo or conditioner. But that’s another story for a different day. Now the other stuff this line is formulated without are useless, some harmful to the body, and others to the environment.
I love silicone for my detangling because my hair is multi-textured. I also love Sles/Sls etc so far it is properly formulated. I don't nitpick on preservatives when it is used at the proper percentage they are supposed to be used. So, all the fear-mongering about no silicone and sulfate does not work with my hair😀
I tried to go silicon free, it did not work for me. I tried MULTIPLE conditioners. I had to come back to my *cough* Pantene curls *cough* conditioner! (Shame... I know, but it works wonders for my hair)

That sounds scary but doesn’t necessarily make it harmful. Surfactants are in everything that cleans anything as they are the agents that bind to oils and debris.

Hope this makes sense!

I can see that happening. Olaplex and any repair products are really only going to show their true colors when the hair is damaged. You can have relaxed healthy hair. So the reconstructing mask and keratin treatment may work better on relaxed hair but if your hair isn’t damaged you may still not have that “aha” moment. Give it a try though!
