i’ve watched when i was a kid and just now came across this video because i recently bought a figure i wanted and it has a loose leg. you really helped me out! now im about to go do all my other figures now lol!!
Yeah, I have action figures and doll bodies with loose joints and I will try this way because it's less drastic to use PVA than acetone or superglue which can end up sticking the joint rather than the desired swelling/roughening of the vinyl in reaction. Thanks!
Thanks. I'm about to buy some of this for my Trick or Treat Studios Halloween 4 Michael Myers. $155 figure, & one of the hip joints has been loose as hell since day one...
it's worth it anyway. I have my barbie a little loose in her elbow and this is like the first video which shows a way to fix that doesn't risk the overall condition of the doll/figure. Keep on the good work and have a lovely day! :)
I heard a trick similar to this using Pledge floor wax, but it's essentially the same principle, coating the peg with a few extra layers so there's more resistance. Plus I'd imagine Mod Podge is more accessible than floor wax I'd imagine
I use the small rubber bands, that is used for the pigtail hairstyle, for the shoulders I heard if you torso crack and add glue it also tightens it but I'm okay with using the rubber bands
Floor cleaner works best for swingingly loose hip joints you just got to get it on the lower part of each side of the ab crunch. Ab Crutch looseness is tricky as nothing seems to resolve that without breaking the figure apart or using a rubber band.
So, would this work for something like an S.H.Figuarts SDCC 2011 Super Saiyan Goku head? The seller I got him from stated he already tried the floor care fix and I attempted several fixes with it (paper being the main solution, still loose, but nowhere near as unbearably loose as it was originally) and most haven't quite gotten his head to snap onto the joint properly. I saw how tight the figure in the video was after your fix and I thought it might work for my Goku. Other than the head, he's pretty damn tight. Certain joints actually squeak when I move them, it's just his head falls off really easily.
Thanks a lot, man. Now that I'm stuck at home I can fix my Batman figures. Now I have to check batteries (and hopefully none exploded in my collectibles).
It should. I’m not too familiar with that figure but basically you need something that will fill the gaps wherever the joint it loose to create friction and mod podge works really good for that.
has anyone tried coating ball joints with JB WELD? (5 min clear version) im about to try this on some figures. i figure if it holds up to 4400 psi and weld engine blocks together... so this has gotta work... im tired of everything i use rubbing off due to friction.. any thoughts???
Your wife's nail polish hardener or clear polish works pretty well. It might get a little scary if you're worried about paint coming off. I've not had it take factory paint off, but not sure about a custom, every time. I have used it on my own paint work, but lightly and it didn't take it off. I used a permanent marker on some black pants and the nail polish did destroy the permanent marker spots...
@@redhunter3327 probably turn figure sideways to make front of figure face outside of one of the legs then apply it to in front of torso and back behind it, then turn figure around (spin torso around on the waist. Hoped this maybe helped Also do you know what kind of glue?
Hey Chase, thanks for the video! Fixed my Sami Zayn figure with this! Do you know any solutions for a loose ab crunch? I'm trying to avoid the rubber band technique as it's quite obvious on camera in animations. Would this mod podge fix-up work as well there?
Take a small piece of plasticard, wedge in into the joint in the back. If you know the joint shqpe well evough, trim the plasticard in a semi circle so it can fit in around the joint. It will be nearly invisible to a camera. You can mod podge the ab crunch, but that involves cracking the upper torso, and I'm betting that's not in your wheelhouse. Plasticard is easy, cheap, and reversible if you don't like the results.

Sorry about the background music. I thought it was lower than this but I hear it getting louder as the video progresses.

James Bowen floor wax? Huh. That's neat.
@@BurnoutInc can you use any mod podge or does it have to be a specific one?
I’d be careful with floor wax. You have to add a lot and then the area it was applied will become brittle.
I tried the modge Podge 3D ascents on the ankle joint of my 12 inch figure with to much side play in the Ankle

Anyone know if PVA book glue will work just as well? I already have some of that but am hesitant to try it on one of my GI Joe figures.

What about the ab crunch
Mod Podge hips don’t lie.
Sorry I keep asking but how do I apply it to ab crunch? (Without cracking it)
Idk man I’m trying to do that too
What about the proper waists where it's body twists
Try it. I’ve never done it but it couldn’t hurt.
did it work?
How do you fix the joint where the arm bends ?
Would this work on loose pieces of sh monsterarts Godzilla figures the ball joints go in but some of the pieces are loose would this fix that issue
I’ve never tried it but I don’t think it could hurt
What about loose hand?
How do I apply it to knee joints? Do I just put mod podge on the back of the elites leg?
Apply it to the pegs in the knee joints and the front and back of the joints. Hope this helps.
Does this need to be reapplied often?
Will this work for ankle hinges? My black series Darth Vader has a loose right ankle hinge.
It should. I’m not too familiar with that figure but basically you need something that will fill the gaps wherever the joint it loose to create friction and mod podge works really good for that.
BurnoutInc thankyou
Sick gloves bro. But how do I do the neck and torso? My white Ranger is having all of the issues imaginable.
Great video, as always! Keep up the great work. 👍👍
Do you still take orders for costume figures?
cool I see a kenny omega custom still in progress

I’ve never heard of this stuff so I can’t speak to how effective it is. I would try it a junk figure or your least favorite figure just to be safe.
Will this work for Monsterarts Godzilla figures?
Do you need to reapply monthly for figures you frequently play with?Or is it just one application?
My Kane figure hand is loose how would I fix it
Can it work for jakks figures
I have a Sasha figure and the arm is loose will that Mod Podge work for it also
Try it. It couldn’t hurt.
BurnoutInc ok thank you
How do i fix loose thigh swivel
So should you apply it before or after putting a decal on the figure?
I don’t use decals so I couldn’t really say. I’d imagine it couldn’t hurt the decal if it was after cause when it dries, it’s clear.
Do you recommend this for joints that pop out easy?
What about ab crunch

wb transformers? for example some wioth a metal pin
I use little rubber bands for the shoulders
could you expand on that a bit? how?
Use loom bands for the waist and the shoulders
Saw your vid, got the mod podge, testing it right now on my beast wars transformers
I hope it worked
Does it have to specifically be matte-mat-mate mod podge or can it be any other mod podge?
You can use rubber bands to tighten the shoulders!
Does this work with the hands
Seems too. I haven't had any issue with it.
Nail polish works great as well at least for normal plastic action figures but for die cast. Not so much
I've heard this. I might give it a try.
Thanks for the tips Chase, you are the G.O.A.T.
My mk50 have loose joints. Can I apply mod podge to it? And do I have to remove the joints?
Is that an import figure? I’m not too certain but I don’t see how it could hurt to try.

When are you going to do another stream?
Are your customs hand painted or are they decals?
The Underdog From The Underground hand painted. I'm not a fan of decals. Never got used to them.

Decals are printed logos that stick on to things, I have a video on how to apply decals.
Why is this tutorial so underrated?
