This is definitely a lifesaver for stop motion animators. Loose joints make animating much more difficult. So thank god this exists
I was given a commander Cody and he was played with but because of the how valuable he was I didn’t care and this helped so much. He is now good as new. I’ve touched up paint and he looks straight out of the box 😁

My black series royal guard has the exact same ankle problem. Glad to know there’s a good solution besides glue! For some reason glueing a figure feels wrong to me and I feel like I’m harming the figure, like writing inside the pages of a novel, so this could be a lifesaver! Thanks for the tip!

I totally agree. It seems sacrilegious somehow. The book thing sold me though - defacing a book in anyway just seems fundamentaly wrong to me, (even shit books!)
for me i used super glue once and nearly glued my fingers together (my brain small) only for it to not do anything at all, so the agony of unsticking my fingers was basically for nothing

I wonder what the "ingredients" are. As a kid I used to fix my GIJoe\transformers with a drop of superglue in the ball socket or joint (keep moving it until it dries) and for years later used clear nail polish or future floor wax (which was like $5 a quart.)

I just got my bottle of kiki in the mail. I had a Kenner Bespin Luke that had the floppiest joints I've ever seen. Two applications of this product and all of the limbs are now nice and tight.

Thanks for this. I normally use clear coat on joints for my old figures but my son destroyed a brand new sonic the hedgehog figures joints and really needed tips getting into tighter joints.

I just bought the Gaming Greats scout trooper and his ankles are super loose (and a few other leg joints.... it’s kinda irritating since it’s brand new) but I’ll try this method out!

This is why the Phantom Menace (1999-2000) toyline is my favorite. The figures are more articulate than most of the Power of the Force figures, but just as sturdy and durable.
That is when they started doin elbow articulation

The joint it’s being used on shouldn’t matter at all. I can’t think of why it would.
Will defiantly be trying this on the Jazzwares Spartan Collection figures. Every figure I've gotten from them has loose joints, my Kat being the worst with no friction on the hip joint...

YES! Kiki works like an absolute charm! Granted, you may need to do some multiple layers to stick on right. Nonetheless, this definitely is a massive help to restore some figures to their rightful glory with their joint tightness!

It works for GI Joe and SW 3,.75 Inch figure style joints, but how does it work on 6 Inch Planet Of The Apes Hiya Style Joints?
it works for pretty much any joint i've tried it on so far.
That's good for when you have a stripped or rusted screw on your GI Joe's and can't take the leg apart to do the paint/varnish trick to the joints.

Is this a permanent solution or temporary? I've used super glue on my mega construx figures loose joints and it seems to work, but I'm worried over time the joints will loosen up again.

Honestly, it just looks and acts like a water-based acrylic polyurethane. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade but I'm guessing it's a clear coat varnish that was repackaged and is being sold at a premium.
Honestly, it probably is. But what ever they have, the mixture is right and the bottle it comes with is perfectly suited for what it needs to do. So I think $8 is fine for what it is 🤷♂️
@@MikeKaess Yeah, if anything, you're paying for the applicator. But, $8 for 10ml of clear coat and a 50 cent precision applicator bottle is still pretty steep. I guess it's fine if the bottle lasts you a while but if you find yourself running low I would recommend a cheaper diy option using roughly the same materials. At the end of the day, they repositioned an existing product into a niche market and are making profits. I can't hate them for that, lol.
I found a water-based polyurethane but i don't know if matte or gloss for 3$ should i go for what or kiki?
Do you think this would help when thr lower leg falls off by moving? My Indiana Jones was very stiff so I tried to loose the parts but the right leg fall off with that

Milky white Pva water based glue aslo works perfectly and dries crystal clear...It's a load cheaper. 750ml for 2 or 3 bucks. It's made for kids and crafting so is super safe too.🖐If you buy it and it's a little thick, just add some water to thin.....That's probably all this $$$ little bottle of stuff is ?!!

Could this work on a ball and socket joint ? I have a black series anakin skywalker and the ball and socket joint that connects the torso and legs comes loose a bit and he falls apart in half lmao

I own some very expensive Kingdom Hearts figures, and some of them now have loose joins. Since they are so expensive, I am very worried about devaluing them, but I do want to tighten a few joints, especially those on the hip swivel. If I added this stuff, would it be visible or mess up the paint job at all? Would you recommend using it on an expensive figure, or maybe something different?
it dries clear. I would say that it doesn't affect the value of the figure anymore than having to say "well this figure has a very loose joint" might. I'd rather enjoy a figure with better joints than worry about how much they're worth.

Here is the only thing that is frustrating me, I ordered this product and I’m waiting for it to arrive. I keep checking the comment sections and even though people ask the same question I’m wondering which is “how long does it last if you’re somebody that’s always posing and repositioning your figures often“. No one seems to answer that question it’s always oh I just put mine in the case or I just put mine on the shelf and it’s been fine OK great is there anyone that used it and has moved their joints around often

I'd like to ask, does this work on metal joints? My Robo-Dou Patlabor figure suffers from a loose waist and I'd like to fix that.
yep! you may have to do a few coats, but for sure
if its metal joints i would suggest threadlocker
You have to let it set for 24 hours. Your waiting 10 minutes isn't doing anything. You should also wipe the excess off with a cotton swab.
Yeaaah the last part I let it sit for a day before messing with it. It totally dries clear though.
Cool hope this works on my Spiderman classics figures. The joints on those are so loose you can flick the legs and the waist will spin around like a helicopter.

If a figure has loose joints anywhere in the legs, my solution is just to set them at the back of the shelf and let them lean against the back.
