  • A secret I discovered while clicking random switches after a mission-
    How do you increase the efficiency of your crew? Make them comfortable! As with any combloc vehicle, the T-72 goes TO GREAT LENGTHS to provide its crew with the MAXIMUM amount of comfort. :))))))
    Sometimes it's the little details that make you go "wo". Steel Beasts is full of em.

    I suppose thats the fire suppressor system to prevent a cook off of the ammo if it gets hit ? Lol

    • @76456
      @76456 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The fire supressor is for small fires, it wont stop a ammo cook off, unless its burning on the roof of carrocel, because if it is hit, its almost imediatly and hard tp stop

      Yep, I forget the voltage (24?) but this is the same fan and DC motor on the MI-8, 24, practically every post war Antonov, etc. Anything that isn't a fast jet.

    LOL nice find! I was wondering.... on the left of that fan there are 3 click-able switches (the top one set to left by default, the middle and bottom one to the right) and immediately to their left there's also a click-able button. What are all these for?
    EDIT: anyway that commander's switch turns on both commander and gunner fans (maybe the driver's one too, i still have to check for it). The commander's fan is partially hidden by TKN-3 sight, but you can see it if you move the sight away from it's default front-facing position

      That's a great question, I'll have to look into that. My first thought was intercom, but looking at the Gunner's Station section of thesovietarmourblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/t-72-soviet-progeny.html#1k13 I think that it is likely related to power supply to the stabilization system or traverse system of the turret. It's connected by junction to the triangular selector above it which in turn is in the Gunner's station diagram; however, the particular box is not in that diagram but connects to nothing else. It may also have something to do with ammunition selection, I saw a mention of that as well.

      @@TR_P Hi, it's a bit late, but I'm sure that I can answer this question, but I'm not entirely clear which controls you are referring to.
      On the left of the fan is the turret traverse lock. Above that is the smoke grenade control box, and above that is the intercom switch (the triangular box). To the right of the fan is the turret azimuth indicator and above that is the ammunition quantity indicator.
