"We are just withholding belief until the quality of available evidence corresponds with the extraordinary nature of the claims"; the only reasonable stance really, in all of this madness going on
I agree. We are living in a dumbed down society and the ignorance and lack of knowledge about cosmology exhibited by large sections of the public is staggering. Social media and the internet generally have exacerbated the issue. As a global civilization we have completely lost our way.
How would you explain the US Navy TicTacs in the sky, the miner that had his stomach burned in Canada by gasses of a mysterious flying object and the craft of New Mexico?
@@SorrowAvenue Don't need to explain anything. A blurry video of unknown stuff does not mean ET is joyriding every other weekend in our backyard. Standing close to a plane will cause burns by exhaust gases. Did he record a clear video of his encounter?
@@faulypie Why would the government classify the video if it was just "burns", let alone that long? Also, he didn't get a clearer video because he didn't and couldn't get closer.
We have evolved into a highly creative, story telling species. When fact based education wanes, then people drift away from what is real & they find comfort "living in a world of pure imagination."
Why do people see flying alien craft in the sky? Cause they're always LIT UP. If even our 20th century tech allowed us to fly & land aircraft on instruments alone, why the heck would an advanced alien visitor need lights?
Yes, a good skeptic never says "impossible" but to be honest the prospect of aliens interaction is a likely as succesful vegetable farming on the sun! And I have many more reasons too beyond Brians film.
I repeatedly heard the comment "there is no proof" of anomalous aerial phenomena and lots of ridicule of eye witness accounts. I would ask what would consist of proof if not multiple radar and corresponding visual observations of objects chased by multiple jet fighters and confirmed by the US (and other) military as demonstrating flight characteristics not achievable by our current technology. How about interviewing the pilots involved and proving to them they were mistaken, as were all the radar operators?
The problem is there are pilots and radar operators that have spoken about how ridiculous all of the claims are - that people are not infallible witnesses and technical anomalies are a thing. The believers ignore all of the testimonies, of course.
I watched Mick West and Alex Dietrich having a conversation. I believe what she saw was real, and I also believe that what she saw was a UAV not a UAP. A novel uncrewed airship drone, which is what the "tic tac" UFO looks like. I don't believe that interstellar space travelers would be using small airships for recon. The Navy, yes. Alex was flying in one direction and the object 10,000 feet below her looking like a grain of rice was flying away in the opposite direction. Why the object seemed to be moving faster than it actually did.
Michiu is concerned more with selling books and making TV appearances right now. He needs to realize that the videos of him are editing to make him sound like he believes that these UFO's are visiting and he is a fan of the UFO cultists now.
@@thewell-knownskeptic5008 Well, he contradicts himself, he talks like he believes the reports of the pilots saying these UAPs travelled at great speed and distances in an instant but then he takes the scientific stance of saying we need credible evidence and claims won't do. So he is all about making money right now.
Michio Kaku is a pop "scientist" who is audience captured and probably makes a good amount of money doing these shows like on the History channel. Far more money than he ever made as a researcher/scientist. So it is no surprise that his mind has taken the path of least resistance. Not an excuse, more of an explanation. I am rather disappointed in him if I'm honest, but cash is king.

Even withholding belief is being generous based on the level of these claims.

I reject reality and substitute my own! unga bunga!
When I was a child I believed in Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, The Easter Bunny, and..."flying saucers."
Get Mick back on. Great interview and thx for covering this topic.

Michio and Avi Loeb want to believe.
Phineas Taylor Barnum is rolling in his grave with envy. 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the 1835 Moon Hoax reference.

If aliens have ever visited the Earth, we are they,

He says these things on his own TikTok channel, and on live TV.
