    Modern Garden Ideas gallery of contemporary garden styles to inspire you for creating your own landscaped garden.
    The landscaping ideas featured in this video are modern, contemporary styles of garden. This type of landscaping isn't the cheapest to install because of the polished natural stone paving, hardwood decking and rendered walls are labour and material intensive.
    Garden landscaping doesn't have to cost a fortune, there are plenty of ways to achieve a great looking garden, that are inexpensive.

    Liked the first one a lot. Like the curves and the big bench. Not all of them, but that just tast. And i don't have childern or pets and i like to sit in my garden at night. So different people have different wishes. But they all look stunning. Also the house of the last one with the wood looks great. The garden fits very nice by the house.
    I have a cheap dull looking house. So i gone try to make some 'moss grafitti' on the ugly walls. And try to hide it....
    Thanx for showing !

    I have a couple of landscape contractors I work with, sometimes clients prefer to use their own contractors, I'm happy with to do either, though I prefer working with my own teams as I know they have the skills to build the gardens perfectly.
    I charge each design individually rather than as a percentage of the project as it all depends on the complexity of the design. I agree it can be hard to get into the exclusive work but I think that will change with the current economic climate.

      Many thanks, I've been looking for "landscaping designs for small gardens" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Giyily Landscaping Yatty - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my work buddy got cool success with it.

  • @Successfulgardendesign

    Thanks for all the comments - it's flattering that so many people think these are million dollar gardens - it's true this type of landscaping isn't cheap but the gardens we built in the video were from 18-34K (there's 2 gardens we didn't build so they may have been more). You don't need to spend anywhere near that to create a nice looking garden though - design is more about shape than anything, yes rendered walls etc are nice but not necessary in most gardens.

    Old English Garden Tour :
    th-cam.com/video/CrcdGn9elOM/w-d-xo.html
    One Garden Center, Recycles wooden flats from colorscaping, covers
    w/ fine chicken wire/ sphagnum moss and plants out one side with
    annuals-houseplants, hooks up to drip
    irrigation. Colorscaping would affix to the wooden flats and grow and spill out
    over the flat, trailing between 24”-36”. Remind me of today world of Living Wall Garden landscapes. Yesteryears,
    planted out flats would sell between $100-$250 per flat. My favorites: Nemesia, staghorn ferns,
    trailing dichondra, impatiens, tuber begonias, dwarf coleus, caladiums.
    Finished flats were perfect for small entryways, courtyard and patios.

    Thanks Doris - the hardwood decking is called IPE and the white walls were a special white render called through-colour which is applied to concrete blocks. As to which plants to use, I've worked in LA and New York area but not Las Vegas (yet!) so I'm not familiar enough with the climate to make suggestions, do you have a local nursery you can ask? Things like Agaves & yuccas spring to mind, all depends on winter temperatures. Hope that helps.

    Nice transformations and designs but did you intentionally place piles of wood and clothes on the lines in the before pictures to make the after pictures seem more drastic? How can I incorporate wood and stone into my landscape if I dont build a deck? Can I just place wood as shown in the circular design picture,onto dirt in my yard or do I need a specific way to prepare the ground first and how did you make it into a circle?

    • @Successfulgardendesign
      @Successfulgardendesign  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Baby Bear Thank you for your comment :-) No, we don't intentionally add more clothes to make the gardens look bad :-) For more ways to incorporate wood in the garden check out www.successfulgardendesign.com/garden-pergolas-pt-1-how-to-know-if-your-garden-needs-one/

    • @Successfulgardendesign
      @Successfulgardendesign  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      M S Hi the wooden decking is called Ipe - it's a hardwood decking so it's very durable. As for upkeep, if you want to keep the nice brown colour you would need to oil it each year, how many times would depend on how severe your weather conditions are. If you don't oil it, it goes a silver colour, which some people prefer. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)

    What can rachel do for me if I have 200 dollars instead of 500,000? I guarantee you the other dislikes are all from working class individuals who got aggravated after they basically, from their viewpoint, watched people flaunt their money; then read some of the comments where one rich person lauded another for how they blew their money on something most would consider frivolous. Don't like what I'm saying? Get a website and take your video off of youtube! I'm s u r e you can afford it, rach.
