Here is another way to fix a non-removable valve core without replacing the whole inner tube. First you have to intentionally puncture the tube wall opposite to the valve, remove the broken core through the hole, insert a new one (locking cap needs to be removed prior), and then patch the inner tube. I know this may sound silly, but is doable and saves some resources. I have done it a few times in the past.

Hey, thanks for sharing your alternative method! It's always interesting to hear different approaches to solving a common issue. Though intentionally poking the tube seems very unusual to me, I can't deny it's a fix for a broken valve core. If it worked for you in the past, it's worth considering. It's good to have a bag of tricks for different situations as a rider, and your method might come in handy. Thanks for adding to the discussion!

Hi, and apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Yes, in some cases it's possible to replace the valve core. You can find more information about it in my video here: th-cam.com/video/zI0UCU41FC8/w-d-xo.html

Hi and thanks for your comment. While this may seem like common sense to you, it's important to remember that not everyone shares the same level of knowledge about bikes. What seems obvious to you might not be so for someone else. On this channel, my goal is to assist both advanced home mechanics and beginners alike. Let's be more understanding and support each other's learning journeys.🙂
