Nice attempt to provide archaeological indications of our wonderful ancient Historical Epic. We must appreciate AajTak and Shwetaji for taking this up.
But I would just like to add some points/corrections for the sake of accuracy:
1) When the Laksha Griha (house of Lac) was burnt, the Pandavas were with their mother Kunti devi, not with Draupadi. This happened before their marriage with Draupadi. In fact, after they escaped from the burning attempt, after various wanderings across different places (under the guidance of great sage Vyasa), they finally heard about Draupadi's swayamvar in Panchal announced by Kind Drupada, where they finally went in the guise of Brahmanas.
2) Although this has become prevalent in current times, would humbly request to not use the word 'Hindu' to refer to the people of the Mahbharata times. This word is less than 1000 years old and is not in Sanskrit, but is a corruption of the word 'Sindhu (the river), given by the foreign invaders. The proper word to use would be 'follower of Sanatana Dharma' .
3) The Stri Parva of Mahabharata clearly says that all the bodies were cremated in traditional Vedic style immediately after the end of the war. Noble Maharaj Yudhisthir personally did the funeral rites (collectively) for all the warriors killed in the battle, on both sides. it is also said that many of the bodies were eaten up (fully or partially) by various carnivorous creatures like vultures & jackals (as described in Mahabharata itself), during the 18 days of the battle. But there is no mention of systematic burial. So I feel the excavated bodies cannot be of those Kshatriya warriors, since burial is not at all done in Vedic tradition. One possibility is that since various yavanas and rakshasa tribes also participated in the war (mostly on Duryodhana's side), there may be some of their remnant if burial was done. It may also be likely these burials are from later times (when Kali-yuga began and various non-Vedic practices might have been indulged in by outside invaders who settled in India). One more point to be noted is that in Dvapara yuga the people were much taller then today - may be to 9 or 10 feet. So any remnant of bodies from that age can be identified by their size being much larger than current human stature. But as I said, no skeletons are likely to be found from that period, since all bodies were cremated without any trace, as required by Vedic Dharma - which fundamentally teaches that the body is temporary and the person within, the Soul is eternal.
4) Panchala is said to be situated on the northern and southern banks of the Holy river Ganga in the area of western Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
5) It is generally understood that Gurugram (Gurgaon) is the place where Dronacharya had his Gurukula where all the Pandavas and Kauravas studied, as also did practically all the Kshatriya Princes of that time, who came to learn Dhanur veda (divine science of war) from the great teacher. This is likely to be near the capital of the Kurus - Hastinapur, which is accepted universally, beyond doubt, to be in the area of present day Delhi. Not sure what the other 'qila' near Kanpur is, maybe some other place related to Dronacharya.
6) The capital had to be moved from Hastinapur due to the shifting course and flooding by the Ganges/Yamuna, AFTER the Pandavas departed from this world. If I am not wrong, this was during the reign of Maharaj Janamejaya who was their great-grandson, or maybe even later. But certainly not during the period of the Pandavas themselves.
7) Gandhara is generally accepted to be in the present region of Afghanistan. Some say Candahar area, others say Peshawar (in NW province of Pakistan). So it is likely to be further west of Rawalpindi. Even Madra is said to be somewhere in the north-western region of Punjab, overlapping Afghanistan.
8) Trigarta is also likely to be in NW India, because it was a close neighbour of the Matsya Desa (which is present day north Rajasthan, centered around the city of 'Bairat', named after King Virata). With all due respect, maybe the reference made by Madam Saroj Bala to Sri Lanka was from the South Indian recension / version of the Mahabharata - not sure. (By the way, I would be interested to know what is this organization 'ISRV'?)
9) However all the kingdoms of ancient Bharata were established and developed over millions of years! (not even thousands, as the westernized Scholars may claim) as per our traditional Vedic understanding, so there may more than one, neighboring regions that would be associated with each Kingdom's name.
10) Finally, as stated by others, we do not really need any material proof of the ancient histories of India - as they are divine, and are absolute facts. They do not depend on any sensory proofs for their validation, to any enlightened follower of Sanatana Dharma. But it is certainly exciting to see some genuine proofs that may come up in such archaeological expeditions. Shri Krishna Vijayam!
