- These are the winning monologue performances of LA's 10th Annual 1Minute Monologue Contest Best Male Performance. These monologues were performed live in this International Competition at Clay Banks Studio International in Los Angeles California. LA's 1Minute Monologue Contest was launched in 2006 by Coach Clay Banks to give actors another opportunity to sharpen their skills and to be seen. 1Minute has successfully sold out each and every year since. In 2017 1Minute became an International Micro Film Festival and accepted submissions from all over the world. But in 2018 we are bringing 1 Minute back home. This means that in order to participate in the contest in 2018 you must have student status. There are two ways to get student status.

I met an acting coach who said "irritation" (i.e. anger, enrage, upset, aggravated, frustrated, etc) were easy monologue material because every actor can do it...
Zt Weve tbh yeah
I agree with that.
thats so true! we often hide deeper our good emotions and are harder to pull out
Yeah. The biggest problem with a lot of these monologues is that they all dial it up to 100 immediately without any kind of buildup or arc. When you just come out yelling or outraged, where do you go from there when the monologue deals with frustration?
There's no depth in any of these performances, and the writing is....poor.
TheOneAndOnlyNAB absolutely. The women were so much better.
The first guy hahaa
Yeah...
he was hilarious! i liked his performance the best tbh
The winner felt so natural with his delivery!
Well, thanks! I wrote and workshopped that piece for over two months leading up to the contest.
Christopher Tedrow is it from a published play?
Christopher, you were great. You should try in bollywood.
Second to last one was my personal favourite. The control and gentle delivery resonated truth, very credible! Keep on acting and developing ur craft!!
The winner was tops 👍
I'm so thankful the third guy didn't take all of his clothes off 😅
Why did he do that???
Because its drama if you change the stuff they do ,you change the character
You don’t make sense
Liked them all, but I would like to work with the third one. Does anyone know who wrote the "Revealing Outburst"?
This is awesome!!
Micah's performance was great
I’m going to see how many monologues I can personally create for you
Thanks! 1Minute Monologue Micro Film Fest and Contest is ON NOW! Check it out and get in! 1MinuteMonologue.com
Damn it, it happened!! It's ur passion😅
We love #35
Haha great!
#35 MADE ME WON HAHAHAHHA TY
The last one was actually really funny
Are these monologues "published monlogues"
Can I get a script for the first guy.
My question is, are these monologues written by these guys themselves or can you pick up any monologue from any movie and do it?
Ammar Abbasi Same question here 😅
I think both, you can write ur own or choose from a movie or something
love it
Can i get the Script of the third guy..
joshua pagatpat just listen and write it down...
what play is the third monologue from
Can I get the number of the third guy..
This guy won? How is that possible? Look at his gestures. No body control. He just speaks in one tone. He must be an amateur at the best.
ruzickaw no body control? I think you fail to understand the scene, he wasn't shaking due to nerves of being on stage he was shaking and fidgeting because he was an angry character one who would be shaking with anger. And his tone their was clearly an escalation.
0:15 mental note for myself. Keep scrolling
Last one :)
What is the second monologue?
Phillip 'The Waiting Room' Shaun Fury
All of these were about struggling relationships because its generally easy
Whos the last monologue by?
I actually wrote that one myself! :)
Christopher Tedrow wow nice job!
Christopher Tedrow have you got a copy of this I can use. As I have an audition soon
I've got it somewhere, but it would probably be faster for you to simply transcribe it.
Break a leg at the audition! And if I may add one suggestion for you about the piece, the overall emotional impression may come across as anger, but the piece needs to be performed from a deep sense of emotional pain. Just playing the anger makes the character extremely unlikeable to the audience.
wood and figueroa tied for 1st place. Your winner 2nd place.
Every time I watch a monologue that is screaming, crying, yelling... I am immediately disappointed. That's the easy way out.
whyyyyyyyy the fuck do they not reference the goddamn plays and the goddamn playwrights
....these dudes need some acting work.....
can i get the first monologue
Take it!
@@claybanksstudiointernation3046 lmao thanks, but is there a link to it? I searched it up and can't seem to find it.
@@ooo8421 Many of the monologues were written or edited and developed in the studio. The one you want may have been one of these. Feel free to transcribe it and use it.
@@claybanksstudiointernation3046 Thank you!
Its always the tissue paper ladies, you wonder why you still dont have a man, well theres your answer😂😂
Matt wood best one over all the others where tryingto hard, I feel like if you dont feel the feelings of the part pretending isn't convincing, heres a tip, whatever your part is mad sad happy, go Tina memory create a place relive that memory and let it out in the script
All guys are angry
These monologues have no depth or emotion.
Ci Silver last one is good
@@sovietninja6865 no
@@jurikoern8602 that's your opinion.
