ANYWAY IM SO SORRY You know. it is when you're backing out of your parking spot and then out of the corner of your eye you catch Jared from Accounting and he's so gorgeous and he's smiling and laughing and WHAT IF HE'S SMILING AND LAUGHING WITH YOU AT YOUR WEDDING! DURING YOUR FIRST DANCE TO "AT LASTTTT" WHICH WAS always your song. even before the Obamas had it. You're wearing this gorgeos gown and dancing under the twinkling lights and you turn to him and say "This is perfect.." and he says to you "you're perfect" and then... uh. right. UM ANYWAY I THINK IM JUST GONNA GO... Ill see you on Monday... WELL probably not! You're still gonna be HERE IN THE HOSPITAL HAHA RIGHT OK WELL UM I'm just gonna go... Please don't fire me.. Most performances in the 1Minute Monologue Contest are original pieces. And for those that are not, most go through an editing process that grooms the piece specifically for each artist's personality. While taking creative license from the original piece, it tends to change the piece to the point where it becomes something very different and specific for each performance. This particular piece was custom fit! As a result, it WON that year's contest! Please feel free to take it and make it your own!
What play is this from
Best one and most real and believable of all.... is the older man - grey hair - Hawaiian shirt:) He was the very best... Everyone else was overacting and pushing it. But not him - he was cool, calm and collected and super funny:) I could see him on Film and would totally cast him ... He's the Winner in my book:)
I agree. VERY funny and could be in a film or TV. He was the character. Dog lady pretty good; but we've seen that character a lot.
The older gentleman at 5:15 has a liquid gold voice, god so soothing and an incredible monologue

HAHAHAHA that latina cafeteria lady had me ROLLING LOL
Love your classes. Great work.
A real good video 😊
I do a lot of monologues in my self tapes. I also audition commercials a lot. In the community some people might down it but it's good to get strong monologues.
interesting lesson, good...
Glad you liked it!
@@claybanksstudiointernation3046 yeeahh, i like it
Where do I find the script for debba's monologue? I have an audition tomorrow
It's long been filed away! The easiest thing to do is to transcribe it yourself. This will also help you with memorizing it. Best of Skill to you!
Debba is the most authentic thus far!
Boo! Why did two of the actors try to slam Trump. Assholes.
Someone tell me the first guys monologue at 1:30
Hey Jasmine! Thanks for the interest... it is an original piece that I wrote/collaborated on with the studio owner, Clay Banks. Hope you liked it and thanks again! -- Joe
It's AMAZING i LOVE it!! Thats talent Joe! :-)@@mungojoey12
What play or movie is the alcoholic vampire monologue from?
Hello, Avelon! And, thanks for checking out our channel! We're super stoked that you're enjoying the performances. The Vampire Monologue was a custom piece written specifically for that actor and that contest. It's since been performed by many other actors and is also available to you if you'd like to take it on. It can be easily modified to fit whichever actor's individual characteristics. For example, it wasn't originally written with a Latino. This actor added some tidbits to fit his personality. Hope this helps!
love u for this.
How fun, I'm just working on my 1 minute monologue for my class and what a variety of ideas.
i love them all
The existence of acting competitions (which are not a thing in Sweden) is very weird to me. You guys really like competing, huh?
Think of it more as honing the craft - strengthening the instrument - brightening the bulb. Anyone can call themselves an actor... however, putting what's inside on the line to see what it really is, is all a part of development.
@@claybanksstudiointernation3046 I kind of feel like you said a lot and not very much at the same time here. But yeah... I think we might have a slightly different approach to acting in Sweden. "Different" doesn't necessarily need to mean "better", but as you can probably tell, I personally can become a little sceptical when I perceive something to be overly competetive. I don't know if I would necessarily call competing a way of strengthening the craft. To me, it can also be a way of ruining it sometimes.
Does anyone know where the first monologue is from? Interested in using it for an audition but need to know the play/playwright to do so
👍
Thanks! That was Joe Abraham doing an original piece. Most of these monologues have been custom tailored to each performer. Feel free to use!
Idk if I’ll get a reply but I need to know what the second one is from for a slate
Incredible talent!

1:31 - 2:34 I wonder where this monologue is from and what it’s called. This guy did it well
Did they make these themselves?

Where did the first monologue come from?
Clay you rock!
Thank YOU, Simon! Glad you were able to sit in on my PERFORMANCE HACK talk!
my young boy at 2:40 kinda butchered dwights iconic scene
10:41 is a good one
I’m glad u talk about the daily grind and how LONG and ARDUOUS the process is. It’s insane bc it’s ONE MINUTE! Insane! I never would have guessed that comedy is where u feel weak. That’s me. Give me Drama & Tragedy 🎭 and I can live there, but u really want to scare and sadden me, give me a comedic monologue assignment.
what's the name of the 1st monologue?.
this video is exactly what i was looking for. i signed up for the auditions my school just posted up and have been shitting my pants since lol. i just started school two weeks ago and have no acting experience whatsoever but figured why not at least try. til now all i found was people doing self tapes or monologues with people reading back to them. this all came last minute, my audition is in 36 hours and i just got signed up so i'm scrambling to figure out how to do this. this video was super helpful and honestly really boosted my confidence going into this because i have a single person dialogue thing like this ready to go that i've practiced and feel pretty good about but there's like no directions about what to do listed and trying to email teachers last minute to ask for help preparing isn't solid going into the weekend with them not around, so i'm assuming based on what it says this is the format it will be done in. thanks for posting this up, these were great examples and many of them i really enjoyed, especially the old guy "i don't have herpes, but it's ok if you do" LMAO
glad to see you're trying acting, Ik its nerve racking at first. trust me it takes a while to shake them but its something everyone deals with. how'd your audition go? wishing the best
watching this video in your exact situation
Same position but in uni and they told me to prepare something and I don’t know where to go. Also we are bilingual so I am searching in two languages 🥲
Don't forget to breathe.
How did it go?!
