You put so much into every project you do. I think you have more patience than any woodworker I know! The cutting, gluing, sanding and varnishing has to be quite the time consuming endeavor! The end results make it all worth while!
Love each video you post!
How you do not go insane with the tedium of making this beautiful art is beyond me. But, since you regularly make this beautiful art, maybe you are.
Something happened to my brain a long time ago, and now this is just a normal day for me, I wish I could explain it.
A "like" dont do your videos justice... The amount of hours behind this.... amazing work 👍
I came here from your story in “Call Me Mabie” channell. That story was inspring and now I see your contents and works are gorgeous. Thank you very much , I had great time while watching this one with my sunday coffee.
That’s a lot of work Mr Jackman. Most people won’t understand the amount of time and effort that goes into a segmented piece. Bravo sir 👏🏻🙂
That was one of the most technical pieces I have seen created on any woodworking channel so far (and I'm probably 5k hrs of content in woodworking videos). Well done.
I just don’t even…. Wow. Truly incredible. Totally inspired design and meticulous execution of an excruciatingly tedious process. There must have been tears shed by the folks that received this gift. ❤🙌🏻
That was so beautiful! From the side they look like Arizona rock formations at sunset. Gorgeous. They’ll be stoked with it
I can't put my finger on why, but one of the best builds ever. So simple, but elegant. Love it.
Having watched the whole video I've decided to invite you to my wedding... I just need to divorce my wife and arrange a wedding.
No better time to start than now!
Love the "sexy time" soundtrack (as Borat might have called it) during the final finishing stages. Tons of work, pretty awesome outcome.
Dang!!! And I thought that I was doing nice things by giving married couples who invited me to their wedding a hand-made-by-me, salt and pepper grinder made from a glue-up of maple and walnut....dude, that bowl is AMAZING!
Anything handmade as a wedding gift is a win in my book, they can only get so many pots and pans, right?
@@JackmanWorks Yup! I skip the registry and give cash instead and then make a S&P grinder from the Penn State lathe kits as an "extra" gift.
What an absolutely beautiful and thoughtful gift. Your friends are lucky to know you.
Another beauty, Paul. Nice touch with the topographic lines. Wondering if you were to do this again, could you turn a deep/large bowl and cut it in half, then glue up boards for the sides and bottom? Technical question, no criticism!
I definitely considered this, the reason I went this way is that it was a seamless connection between the straight and the round portions, if it was done in solid pieces you'd be stuck with an end grain seam connecting the pieces, which isn't ideal.
After years of watching your content, I have to finally put out there that I watch an absolute metric shit-tonne of woodworking videos, and yours are my favorite. The editing, the jokes, the tool-pr0n, the personality, the music, the vibes, and the concepts/execution of the projects are just second to none. I know I'm always in for a real fun ride when I see you post. You're the best! ❤
It’s a beautiful, amazing bowl! Thank you for sharing your creativity and talent with us.
I saw the arbor tech trailer at a woodworking show. It was the highlight of my day 😊
Aww that's too cool! This means so much to me. Glad that thing is still traveling around, I hope they'll get it out on the road more.
Patience is the reason I quit woodworking 40 years ago, I have picked it up again but, I will never gain enough patience to do anything remotely like this!
Masochist comes to mind! Great result
A stunning piece that tells a beautiful story. This had all the hallmarks of a Classic Jackman Video: uncomfortable eye contact, clone shop assistants, ridiculous glue ups, magic clamps, serious power carving, banging soundtrack, and super cool project (noticably missing were hidden farts, but maybe I just missed them). Awesome build and fun to see how it went together. Thanks for sharing?
I saw that Wesley Treat Raygun Pushing Tool. Jackman is a man of culture and good taste, and would never need a "Days without screwups" board.
Come on TH-cam!! Where has Jackman been? I’ve subscribed since the beginning and this is the episode I’ve seen in my feed for over a couple years! Still great, but way more impressive with all the fancy tools! No more basement workshop either!! Well done Jackman!
1:23 is just a masking flex, a flex well deserved
haha! Exactly, it was totally unnecessary, just showing off
Absolutely cool as hell!!! I watched this with my twin 5 year olds and they said “look dad, he’s a twin too!”
Ha! That's so awesome
That was quite possible the best produced ad I have ever seen. As someone old enough to remember the infomercial that is high praise. Subscribed, if you ad read is that good I am sure I will love any woodworking videos you happen to make. 🤣
It’s crazy you did all that shaping and sanding in like 8 minutes
The artistry is astounding.
Very nice project and an awesom result. The sausage bowl turns out wonderful. I definitly would buy it if i could afford it... 😀
You made that labor look entirely too easy! Amazing craftsmanship!
This is my first time seeing your videos i definitely subscribed your in my top 5 woodartist/woodworker. You guys really inspire me to learn woodworking
The design & the execution are both outstanding
Good lord, the amount of work that went into this! Absolutely stunning. I love the topographical detail.
8:41 was such an “I did a thing” moment!
If you haven’t seen that channels videos before your in for the biggest treat!!
Just stumbled on this channel. You have it, whatever it is, you got it.
Beautiful finishing work!
7:55 mark looked like you were working on a cargo tanker ship model how cool. Does anyone else call those container ships “tanker ships” as slang too?
Excellent piece, Paul!
I absolutely love it!
As a relatively new content creator/video editor (where did THAT sentence ever come from?) I really appreciate the production value of the video itself!
The Laguna text coming out of the equipment with the piece was very good. I thought the music was a little intense (I had to turn it down a couple of times) in one spot.
Overall, very entertaining for this 64 year old rookie artist/content creator!!👍🏻😎
Stunningly gorgeous! Wow it’s just beautiful, I enjoyed the process, steps, tips wish I had a way to laser engrave but dang is it stunning
The techniques you use to make your art are just amazing! I guess the bowl is ok too, if you’re into ridiculously beautiful, incredibly thoughtful, sausage-inspired things…
Well done Paul!
I totally love it. Did anyone scream "hey, Noah, what's up with the boat?" Seriously how many hours, that is incredible!!!!
This turned out amazing!! Loved seeing your vision come to life!
This looked like a quick project to take on in your lunch break
far out, what a process! great to watch 👍
Great project!!! I’ve gotta get my arbortech back out and get carving!! It’s been way too long.
For sure, just grab a log and go to town! 😀
Beautiful piece as always, that is so cool, hope they like it ❤
What an insane amount of talent and skill you’ve displayed here sir, very impressive work 👀👏🏼
I find the music you choose very appropriate ✅ Not too much talking ✅ Tremendously great finesse with those power tools ✅
Great seeing you again Paul....I want to thank YOU and Pat Lap for getting the Laguna 14BX bandsaw. I went out and got one as well. Hey, just heard that there will be a San Francisco Bay Area Makers Faire in October. Any chance you will be there?? My nephew lives in Harwich on the Cape.
Absolutely stunning nice work and planning wish I had half of your machines but you use them all very nice
Regards Jamie
Such an amazing piece! Each detail cooler than the last. Excellent work.
Great job! Lot of hard work!!! I’ll stick with my wood lathe and wood bowls and vases!
From one Jackman to the next, great work, very creative. ✌️❤️
As always nothing is easy with you but your projects always turn out exceptional. Great job. It looks awesome.
Thank you so much 😀
🔥🔥🔥 Gorgeous bowl and video. Mahalo for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
That was insane! Paul, that is a beautiful bowl and hopefully it will be a cherished family heirloom.
Wow, I thought he was kidding with the topographical part! Crazy guy. Very talented.
I definetly would buy it, it's a stunning piece, truly beautiful. The reason you titled like this of course, is about the amount of work it took you to build and it would make it unreasonably pricey for "a bowl". I might be wrong but I think that you can find a solid piece of wood that would be suited to be carved out and shaped to look some how similar to it, taking probably way less time to accomplish. Anyway, this is only my mind thinking:" I would love a piece like that, but I don't want that amount of work nor I have that kind of money for a bowl (lol). Still...." Great content!
Love the design, good job!
You have some very lucky friends! That is one special bowl!
Fantastic project!
I can’t think of anything you could use a bowl this size for but maybe one day they can use it as a bassinet 🤷🏼♀️. It is a beautiful decorative piece for now!
Wow that turned out amazing. You did amazing work
From my initial 😊 reaction to the title: sausage bowl- yuck; to the land of a thousand clamps; to the design profiling; to the carving; to the bottom memento detail; to the deep finish, you twisted my mind in many cool and clever ways. And, I don't say this to many people. Ha ha.
Lovely, thoughtful gift, Paul.
Great cameo, too.
🤯Amazing man! Well done!!
Love the sound track too.
New subscriber👍
First time viewer and new sub I'm impressed. Just getting into power carving and wow this is a whole new level of dedication!!!
amazing bowl , so much work....love it
Beautiful job!
Great work. Not seen a bowl like this before. New sub
love the project, would love to see it with a different finish that doesnt have amber tones to it.
It was definitely tricky choosing a finish for this one, the amber tone makes the walnut look amazing but I don't totally love it on ash, so a couple coats of that with clear varnish on top was my compromise.
I'm sure that the happy couple will love their bowl.
Ty sir🎉
First video seen, absolutely beautiful work, subscribed!
Welcome! Glad to have you
I didn’t watch the whole thing but I’m going to ask anyway… Is the chop saw the only tool involved in that build? ☝🏼👨🏼💻
Absolutely stunning.
You had us at "Impossibowl" 😏
Очень классный результат 👏
It's gorgeous!
Simply fabulous…
Amazing! Thanks!
Remarkable work, Paul.
absolutely fascinating
You are so thoughtful, entertaining, and hilarious as always Paul, beautiful bowl aka stadium - I will take 3, please! ;)
CNC to create the topographical feature. My jaw dropped and the first sound out of my mouth was "OK. That's cool!".
Well done sir.
Really neat, Paul, you wild and crazy guy.
Bill
What an awesome project. Full View and Like 👍
No pallets were harmed in the making of this bowl
You are sick!!! 😅🤘👏 Big admire
You are an amazing creator. If you happen to want to make a stranger a gift, I would not be offended. 😂
Muy elegante, me encanta..... Saludos!!!
Masochistically Magnificent.
Massively so
Holy crap... well done
Beautiful job, and if that couple ever breaks up, make sure you get visitation rights to the bowl!
👀 That bowl is gorgeous!
That tape timed with the music smoother than that finish
Beautiful!
Thank you!
aaaaand after first minute I'm singing the whole video "Down with the thickness...." Some disturbed woodworkers vibes....
I thought it was going to be a Viking long boat replica, because, well, you look like a Viking. Maybe, with a segmented horn helmet, you could be some high school's sports mascot.
Really magnificent.
1:14 does feeding multiple boards through the planer eliminate snipe? i keep getting divots at the ends of my boards
Having a $5k planer helps lol
Frank Howarth levels of excellence. Maybe better because of that bass guitar.
I like to think that I'm a younger Frank Howarth with slightly more hair
You must have more money in clamps than I have in my whole workshop!!
