The plastic wrapper on the handle surprisingly weighs 2g. So if you left that on while measuring that’s why your rackets are roughly 2g over spec on average. Great review 🤘
Pure Strike 98 16x19. Currently have 2 strikes and Blade 98 in my bag. Tempting to switch to Blade as well, but when I face strong players, Strike's power helps me more, but I can see the potential switch to Blade.
Great Vid. I used a VCore Pro 97, switched to a Vcore 100. Good stick but being Single Handed there is drag and even the ball goes roughly where you want I did not get the feel of VCore Pro 97. So now looking at Blade 98 16 x 19 and Percept 97. Not tried any of these. Do you know how the Blade is for Single Hander? Or even a Blade 100? I am an all court player.
I am a one handed attacking baseliner, I currently play with a customized Wilson Blade V8 (g 326 - unstrung). I played with a Yonex Percept 97 very similar to Wilson Blade, I want to try Percept 97H but I believe will be more or less like my current racket. I played a couple of rounds with a friend’s Yonex Regna 98: now that is the real and only QUEEN if you are willing to make the investment.
How would you compare these racquet to the Speed Pro 2024? Saw your review(really enjoyed it!!) and your comments about it. I’m currently looking for a racquet to replace my Extreme Tour 2022, had the torsional stability it has(tried to solve it with lead but couldn’t find a set up comfortable for my liking). Interested in the Blade V9 16x19, Radical Pro, Speed Pro and Ezone 98. All these racquets are different(98 vs 100 + more control vs more power) but where options that really caught my eye and as I’m not able to demo them I’m really trying get as much info as possible to decide which will suit me the best. I can generate my own power so control + stability will be the top priorities.
If control and stability are your priority I’d go with the Speed Pro or the Blade 98. I’d say the biggest difference between the 2 comes down to the beam being thinner on the blade so it gives a bit of a softer feel but is also slightly less stable. The speed would offer more stability and a feel that is still fairly soft but a little artificial feeling.
@@simmstennis Thanks a lot for the info!!! Yeah, my brother played with the graphene touch speed pro from 2016 and liked it, but i don't know how much the racquet change over these years. Based on your comments and review i'm really leaning towards the blade due to it's thinner beam and softer feel plus the fact that i feel more confortable playing with a 98. Really enjoyind the content of the channel! Greetings from Argentina
I’m an advanced level player with and OHBH. I’m currently playing with a pure strike 18x20 3 gen. I want to switch to a more maneuverable racquet. Which one would you recommend, this Blade 98 or the Percept 97D. I play more with top spin but also use flat stroke in my backhand. Great video 🙌🏻
That bumper design is genius. Make you wonder why manufacturers didn't do it sooner.
I agree

💯Thank you!
The only reviewer that I’ve seen showing how this bumper system works. Thank you!
Thanks!
Thanks for showing how to remove the head guard using the new system
No problem, it’s pretty clever!

Good assessment. I prefer the slightly more controlled response of the blade over the strike. That power is seductive though!

I’m not speaking from experience on this but I’ve seen many great 1 handers play with the blade 98
I have Vcore pro 97 👌 Percept 97 getting poor reviews 😬 I’m torn between Percept 100d and Blade V9 98/100 🤔

Thought swing weight was 325 ish or is that when it’s strung 🤔
Yeah, that’s strung

I enjoyed the blade more than the 97D. I found it more versatile
Hi!Wanna know your opinions on blade 98s whitch have a 18x16 pattern. Someone said the Blade98s was the best in V9s
I haven’t hit with the blade 98S so I can’t really comment on that, sorry
What made you switch from the EZONE to Blade? What are the differences?
It offers me a little more control. I can swing out more freely
What are those Dunlop tools you’re using to measure?
They measure the rackets balance and swingweight
Could a 3.5 player use this? Currently using the new Aero 300g. Love the power, but need more control.
I think so but I’d definitely try the Blade 100 as well
What was the strung SW of the 294 unstrung racquets?
323
@@simmstennis nice! That's right where I like it. I'm also thinking of switching from my Ezone 98 :)
@@simmstenniswhat string did you use? What gauge?
So far I’ve strung it with Wilson Revolve Spin, Volkl Cyclone, and Solinco Hyper-g all in 125
@@simmstennis so we reckon on spec unstrung sw is about 295 for this frame?
The Head Boom Pro 2024?
Stay tuned!
Speed MP?
Stay tuned!
Percept 100 D?
Have you tried it?
The best tension?
Depends. I’d recommend starting around 48-50lbs
@@simmstennis great. I will string it up at 50

Guess: Pure Strike 98 16/19
Good guess, but it’s not a Pure Strike.
Percept?
Guess: Solinco Whiteout 18/20?
No, but I’ve heard good things!
Aero 98 was better then this...but v9 was better then my ezone98
Do you play with the Aero 98 currently?

@@simmstennis aero98 mostly, but sometimes I bring the gravity pro to bash the hell out the ball
So funny, I keep a Gravity Pro in the bag for the same reason.
Aero 98 is too stiff
