Yo! I saw you post a clip of this video and finally had time to watch it! Thanks so much for the kind words and the reaction! I'm so glad that the music resonated and had an impact. The subject matter of the song is....rough. I wrote this song at a time when I was incredibly frustrated by how we divide ourselves as people. We find stupid reasons to wage wars, fight in the streets, abuse each other over the internet, and so on. I heard a quote somewhere, I don't remember where it was, but it was "The first step to getting out of depression is to move away from pain. It doesn't matter which direction you go as long as its away". Something like that. And I realized that this was a really unifying thing. People may have different religious beliefs, political views, values, and such. But we can all agree that we want to move away from pain. So, as a father myself, the fact that the song was hard for you kind of links us together. I have no idea where you stand in your views, but we both have the same pain in our chest thinking about a child being left behind. Lots of other parents have had similar reactions to the song. And, while it hurts, that means we're connected. And it's a connection we can all agree on, which is that it should never happen. So the whole EP has that goal. Tell heart wrenching stories to unify listeners. Much love, man!
I love me some Kardashev. These guys are amazing. Someone already said to checkout Compost Grave-Song and Phantoms but I would add Between Sea and Sky. That's probably my favorite from them.
The vocals.....omg so beautiful. I did not expect such amazing signing in this. Wow,also, the drums were able to make such great ambiance without going to far with it and just repeating the same thing over and over. I really appreciated that in this one. The lyrics were just cutting into my soul in this. Great stuff.
Kardashev's music (referred to as 'deathgaze') is uniquely affecting, every time. Mark's voice, especially in the cleans, but also very much in some of his harshes, just grips you and makes you feel. Thanks for sharing such a heartfelt reaction with us. That's what keeps me coming back here, man. Always good vibes, even when the music makes you feel the opposite. Definitely recommend checking 'Compost Grave-Song' and 'Glass Phantoms' off of their most recent album, Liminal Rite. Amazing. I would be surprised if we dont see a comment from Mark in the next couple of days... Much love, brother.
Ready to finally watch your reaction of this incredible song you recommend me!! 🖤 *Edit* I loved the initial subtitles on the video; then, my heart broke again. Is so amazing. This song. Everything on it. The lyrics, the voice, (specially the clean vocals, I freaking love it) the drums... The start of the song, the way it finishes... 🖤🖤🖤
that change came unexpected. nice contrast with the vocals again. and again and again. the inner fight has different voices. and trees, mountains and snow.
I love the combination of soft melody and heavy drums, guitars, and vocals! Btw, if you're interested, Alina Pash recently uploaded a new video. She's pretty cool 😉
Kardashev are amazing! I had them on my list for a patreon request, now u gotta dive into more. It would be awesome if you could have Mark on for a chat sometime on The Depths of the Melody. I have seen quite a number of the videos on Kardavox Academy, not because I aspire to be a vocalist, just super interesting to watch and hear the techniques, and Mark's persona is so chill and engaging.
Kardashev is one of the greatest bands I've ever heard. Their album 'Liminal Rite' is god-tier music. It's a concept album about a man revisiting the house where he grew up, after decades of estrangement, and rediscovering memories of his childhood, and also re-living his trauma, with a growing sense of grief for a past that has been lost. I'd love to see a full album reaction of it!
I found out about Kardavox Academy through reaction Mark did of The Charismatic Voice (she's also an Opera singer) and I really liked his reaction. When I found out that he had a band, I had to check them out! This song broke me ... child abuse is a hard enough subject for me to deal with but to imagine abandonment in such a manner . 🤬 Anyway, the whole band is great ... and his vocals are amazing!

Honestly man. I can't listen to their songs alone. It's too emotional for me. After having kids of my own I just can't with this song
Yea I wasn't ready for this song man!
