Fun Fact about Tomi Joutsen. While covid pandemic ended pretty much all the live venues, festivals and touring with the band, he ended up returning to his former profession as a social worker for a while. His work included child welfare, social work with substance users and also mental healt work. Im working in the same area and was lucky enough to meet him through some mutual patients. His presence is impressive at live concerts but I can assure it's as impressive in human to human work. One of the best social workers Ive done work with, he takes people seriously no matter what. And people take him seriously.
I've heard him say In a recent Interview he still works a few days a week in social work........I'm in a different country but In an adjacent industry.....and that info makes me more of a fan than before. 🖤
I'm.glad u got to.meet him in his other role.

@@Aegianlulz I guess it's not that uncommon anymore. Things are different nowadays for musicians (streaming services pay them pennies and not as many physical albums sold as in the past)Especially since the pandemic took away the opportunity to tour.....which is a big part of a touring musicians income.
This is a big reason why I make.sure to buy some.merch from my favorite bands aswell as some.local up n coming bands. Gotta support our metal community 💗

This reminds me of my time living in Finland. I worked as a video camera man during the final Black Sabbath show in Helsinki in 2016. Amorphis was one of the opening bands. Good times.

Fucking love Amorphis, they are something special. Their songs evoke a wonderful feeling in me that I don't fully understand, but it's like I get inspired to travel to new places. Their melodies are enchanting.
absolutely agree!!! Noone can say better than this! I love the new sound that Amorphis brought in Queen of time its little bit electronic and so fresh! But i also adore old Amorphis , Elegy Album is my favoutite!

Man , the way the singer transistions from the roar to the beautiful melodical voice is so amazing and beautiful. This ban`s music is so beautiful and unique.

Honestly I liked it more when he growled less and singed in a more agressive manner on their earlier albums (especialy Eclipse), it was more emotionaly complex. Right now it's either harsh growl or delicate melodic vocal with little in between.
@@mister-BH Not the same singer, in fact they changed 3 of them.. Pasi, Tomi, Tomi (up to Elegy, from Tuonela to Am Universum, since Silent Waters respectively afair).. In fact they're soooo distinct you can actually almost intuitively know :)
@@VArsovski10 Tomi is the vocalist since Eclipse, I've meant him strictly. Pasi is a bygone era, for better and for worse.
And I do think his (Tomi's) vocals deteriorated after the first few albums, losing a lot of diversity and power in favor of better growling. I used to listen to Amorphis for that guy alone and now he's just by-the-numbers on each new album.

It's incredible but this band just gets better and better. All the Joutsen era albums are incredible and I'm ready to put Amorphis at the very top together with 80's Maiden as my favorite bands of all time.

Just watched this with our 3 year old son who loves this song instead of a bed time story.
He calles it 'quiet sea' and wants to hear this since our vacation to Germany in 2018 all the time.
He sings half of the lyrics along and even attempts the growling.
And its one of my favorits from Queen Of Time as well.

Once again I realize that Amorphis is one of my favourite bands (for more than half of my life).
I love the music of this wonderful band. It seems to me that one of the sources of inspiration for Amorphis is the northern nature. When I look at the beautiful landscapes of the Scandinavian countries, I just have no words - it's pure magic. Untainted by the presence of man, beautiful and majestic - there are very few such places left on the planet.

Amazing band, great composers, musicians and performers, so beautiful music, fantastic solos and riffs, Amorphis is one of my favourites top three metal bands.
Favorite song on Queen of Time. I hope I'm lucky enough to hear this one live one day.
Some of Amorphis' best work is in bonus tracks and singles that there's a 98% chance that they'll never perform live :( see the Circle bonus tracks for what I mean

To me, Queen of Time is one of those albums that doesn’t feel quite as complete without the bonus tracks because of how good they are
Amorphis is always like this. The bonus tracks often contain some of the best songs on the album.
I hate that they do this. My guess is they just put songs that they don't want to perform live on there. Because otherwise I can't fathom why some of these masterpieces don't make it on the "official" album.

My #1 favourite band since the 90's, I have been listening to them since the beginning and never, ever a disappointment from their music, vocals, lyrics and live, they have keep that sound that we always loved about them. I was at the Toronto concert and Omg!!!!! sounded just like the album, Tomi's vocals shook the whole concert, like a rocket just got launched, his voice is just out of this world. The Best Band Ever!!!!!!!!!! I hope to see them live again one day, so worth it. Amorphis you guys are just amazing, you have no idea. Thank you for the upload.
