  • I've been working on a kitchen makeover (see the "BEFORE" and "AFTER") and the walls needed some wooden kitchen signs. The most popular signs are "EAT" kitchen signs, but I chose to make one that reads "SAVOR." With just a few materials and one afternoon, you can easily make wooden kitchen signs yourself. Here's how!

    //MATERIALS//
    Here's what I used to make this kitchen sign out of wood:
    - 3/4" plywood
    -Drill
    -Jigsaw
    -Scroll blade
    -White paint (or stain)
    -Sticky tabs
    -Paintbrush
    -Wet-dry vac

      So after you cut your word. . Sand and use 220. . honestly you don't have to use 150 or 180 then 220 just use 220 first. . .the. If you wanted to paint sides you can stain the use vinyl (651), place on the side of stain and lay it down (make sure place it firmly down with a wedge). . Spray from the back and there you go. . Depends on vinyl should not leak. Also I think you will get more life out of your blade and wrist lol if you use 1/2" vs 3/4" wood. . . Plus I don't think you'll lose the look you want. .. finally maybe think about finding a silhouette machine. . They run about 75 to 200 bucks used ide get the #2 or #3. It will cut out your letters for you and all you have to do is tape them .. save you some time I feel . Plus better product at the end. . hopefully I don't sound rude in anyway shape or form. . I'ma fan. . Can't wait for the next video. .

    Yo Kid!! Was a little taken back to hear about your condition but, so glad surgery went well. Just another reason on why your positive attitude shines through so much!! A fantastic little project Kid!! And man oh man does the garage make me so envious (in a good way). I'm glad I saw this. I tried to use my jigsaw for the first time and it did not go well. It was jumping out of the wood panel I tried to cut. I did drill a pilot hole but my blade ended up bending. I'll go to home depot and get the blade you suggested.

      Yikes!! You HAVE to tell her about achalasia. It is a progressive condition and only gets worse. She might be able to get relief if she gets surgery. Have her read this blog post I wrote (getyourlifestraight.com/what-is-achalasia/) and give her my email address if she has any questions (serena@thriftdiving.com). Achalasia only affects about 1 in 100,000 people so many doctors aren't likely to even diagnosis it. Have her contact me!

    I believe that Jeffree Star has the same condition that you have. You might want to contact him and share your experience with him. He's really struggled with his condition! BTW, I have a rotary saw that is much easier to use than a jigsaw.

    • @ThriftDiving
      @ThriftDiving  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just looked for his video! Looks like he has a different esophagus condition but it's very similar. His is caused when a type of white blood cell, the eosinophil, accumulates in the esophagus. My condition happens when the nerve cells of the esophagus die and that sphincter that lets food pass stops opening over time. Food will just sit there and can be regurgitated at night when you sleep (that used to happen to me). It causes chest pains, can cause vomiting, and general chest "full" feeling. But his symptoms sound just like achalasia. I think with my condition, we can do dilations like Jerffrey did. But with my condition, we can at least have surgery to cut open that tight sphincter and get some relief for longer periods. With his condition, it sounds like doing dilations are really the only therapy. Man, these conditions are horrible. I hope he is doing well today!
