Unpopular opinion: Real Madrid doesn't really need Mbappe, Mbappe needs Real Madrid. I get it that it's only 2/3 games in and the need for time to settle in, but if madrid has a below average/poor season this season, then you’ll know why. Mbappe is a pace merchant. If he can't beat a team with pace, he has nothing great. Compared to him, even unfit Bale had a lot more in his arsenal. Bale was almost as quick as Mbappe. Whether or not his career is hitting a wall is a fair question. But the Mbappe hate recently has been a bit weird. He's a great player who has given football great moments. You mean a hat trick with two penalties? Penalties are just gift goals; they don't come from hard work or from dribbling past 5-6 players. You don't get penalties anytime or anywhere. Technically, yes, it was a hat trick, but not because of your best performance. It's like copying answers from your friend next to you during an exam and getting a better grade than him. That's not hard work, or not came from your best version of yourself. If another player had been offered penalties by Mbappe, another player would have also scored. So, don't take penalties too seriously.
