@ronaldtheriot I had Coors Banquet or Coors Orginal when we used to get imported from the USA. I first had it in April of 2014 when i was 21 years old which was a Friday night and I loved it its now brewed here in Canada. I saw Coors Banquet in 30 packs in USA when I went to California to vist my family in May of 2023 or in other nearby American states such as Washington state Bellingham Seattle I may pick some up next time I'm in the USA. Unfortunately we can't buy 30 packs of Beer and take it back to Canada. At least in Vancouver where I live but you can do this in Ontario for some reason.
Hi Jay, as you'd noted- in Canada we now get the locally brewed, "Coors Original". Not so long ago however, Molson Coors was importing "Banquet" in both stubby bottle and can format. I still feel the Banquet brew has a better taste, though "Original" isn't bad.
LOVE COORS :-))) First time i had it was in 1990 i think it was playing paintball with my late brother and his buddies - good times in the woods with Coor Banquet cans stuffed in my camo jacket :-))) Great review :-)))
Hi Ron, I noticed you mentioned that Coors Light is cold filtered and unpasteurized. Does this make it Draft? I know that with Miller Genuine Draft that is the process that makes it Draft. Your thoughts on this and any other beers that are cold filtered unpasteurized you know of that would be considered Draft in a can but it's not marketed like that
Yes, I would consider it a packaged draft product, Mark Brayton, but there could be some processing step that I am not understanding. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
Enjoying a Coors Banquet after a terrible loss by our Cleveland Browns today, so of course I wanted to watch your review yet again! I definitely get the banana notes, which I enjoy. Truly an excellent beer, and major upgrade from the light beers I usually drink.
Don't if you knew this or not but Banquet cans are slimmer and taller than your typical 12 ounce Miller, Bud, etc. cans. They are still 12 ounces but are taller to accommodate standard American style portable coolers. +1 in my book for Coors beers.
Just picked up an 18 pack today., I like this beer. I alternate between several beers in this category. Back some 30 years ago when I lived in Minnesota. I would get Coors Extra Gold. I think the ABV was higher. I liked that beer too. I do not know if they make it anymore.
Fantastic review as always-love all the background and history you bring us! I'm typically a light beer drinker (and light at that)....would you consider this a major upgrade over Coors Light, et al and worth a try?
I wish they’d make the Coors Light cans look just like the banquet cans in silver. The logo on banquet cans look so much classier than the blue mountains that tell you when it’s cold.
Coors Banquet is brewed using a combination of two-row barley, corn, and hops. It has a smooth, crisp taste with a slight sweetness and a hint of bitterness with a clean finish. Coors Banquet has a light to medium body and a golden color with a frothy head. Coors Original, on the other hand, is brewed using only two-row barley and hops, with no added corn or other adjuncts. It is a robust yet easy-to-drink beer, with a slightly bitter finish. Coors Original is also a lighter-bodied beer with a more crisp and refreshing taste and a lower ABV of just 4.2% compared to the stronger beer of Coors Banquet.
Well, I think it's probably due to very few people, in any state, ever ordering draft Coors Banquet. Now, Coors Light? I bet that's everywhere, in draft form. Thanks for watching, fun4me2. I appreciate it.
