It's insane how fast the corner in those cars, tv angles never reflect that, it's mind boggling that something can turn at those speeds and that a human is in it.
I’ll prob get crap for this - but the current gen of F1 cars sound...dare I say really good in person. Tv does not in any way do them justice. No they do not have the “hellish” frightening sound of the v10s but I’ve really come around. It’s ok to be nostalgic, sometimes things in the past really are better, but nostalgia can also be a disease
I agree. For me what makes a cars sound good is if it has distinct sound that sounds cool. Take the Merc w11 or 10 in the video. Idk how to explain the sound but it’s cool. Screening v10s sound amazing but we gotta appreciate all sounds of Motorsport.
As somebody who never watched f1 until DTS, I can say(nostalgia free) that the v10s and v8s sounded much better than the v6s. The v6 albeit still really nice, just maybe not for fq
Definitely! People who say that they hate the V6 sounds NEED to look up vids like this on YT. This sounds way better than the TV broadcasts probably ever will.
The audio here is so much better than the TV presentation. Really can hear the turbo going nuts in this video, never seem to hear it (over crofty screaming over Martin bundle here in the U.S.) Id love to hear more of the cars like this video but during race weekends.
By the way, love your videos, listen to them all the time. You got a fantastic knack for picking up the growls/whistles/ITB sounds. Truly, doing gods work.
I would definitely say that they look a little strange on the current generation of cars. I think it will be a little bit like the halo where it will look odd at first and then in the end we'll readjust to them, not noticing them all that much.
@1:16 This really reinforces how effing fast an F1 car is, especially the AMG W10 which drives like it's literally on rails that is bolted to the track along with industrial glue.
2:58 A wild radar gun appears lol I wonder how much the smaller sidewall will affect suspension design and tuning. I imagine the current tire's sidewall does a good amount of work in the overall suspension system. Also, I love how this track is squeezed in amongst the houses. Must be great if you're a race fan, otherwise not so much lol
I have a tip for those who dont have earphones .....put it at max volume and next to your ear....im not even kidding...it sounded scary ...these types of engines are underrated, everyone says they sound bad but when you do this method....they sound almost as good as the old v10s and v12s.......no joke like im serious...
F1 can learn a thing or two about recording audio, holy hell! I love the difference in sound as they go over the kerbs. and i really like the look. only took me minutes to go from "huh those tires look really tall." to "yeah this looks right!" The tall tires does however make it look as though they are about to tip over.
Those wheels definitely don't look as good as the current ones, but they honestly don't look that bad. Interested to see what the new cars next year look like
Nem é pq sou fã da Mercedes, mas é o ronco mais cabuloso da F1 sem sombra de dúvidas. Arrepia até os cabelo do @! é o fuguetão da Mercedes, pretão com essa borra prata, insano demais.
The wheels like this look so much better than with wheel covers. I get that they want better aero, but how much would a wheel cover really affect performance?
So does anybody have any in-depth opinion on seeing these upcoming tyres in action versus the current tyres we are all accustomed to? Personally I can't 'really' see any visual handling difference. I'm not naïve though, I know there will of course be some performance differences by using 18" Although at one point in the video I do notice how much the car is bouncing, which seemed curious. At 0:33 Could be turbulence, but it's definitely before the brakes were applied because when the brakes are applied the car makes a obvious dip downwards as the car crosses the left-hand orange square. (From our perspective)
You can say what you want, but I think current F1 cars look way better with the 18-inch tyres. Maybe it's because the tyres actually look like tyres and not small toy things with the car dimensions.
These videos always make you appreciate the V6 sounds so much more than when they're on TV
they are awful anyway
@@rekordea I like the sound still. V10s and 12s sounded better but this sounds fine too, for me at least.

They’re bad compared to V8, V10, V12, but in their own regard they sound good
In person they are pretty clean. Of course it doesn't blow the ear drums off but it's actually pleasant to not have to go deaf when watching.
