    By far the best camera within its price range for me. You can do anything with it.
    I foolishly sold it for the Nikon Z9, which honestly is probably too much camera for what I need. It’s also twice the weight and size. I’m going to stick with it for now, but I haven’t been impressed with a camera at its price point as I have with the X-H2S.

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally agree, the Nikon Z9 is no slouch of a camera either, but the price of camera and lenses for the X-H2S just makes it so worth it imho.

    Please expand on the Important Settings, I noticed the After shot became a lot softer but it was such a small example

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment! Yes the settings I changed end up making the image softer, but that’s mainly to allow for better control in post, adding sharpness and noise reduction to your own liking. Also regarding High ISO NR, Fuji cameras is notorious for weird artefacting in the images even if the noise reduction is at 0, which is why I made it a habit to change the High ISO NR to -4 which removes the artefacting.

    big thing about prores recording as well, is that u NEED a CFexpress card, if u dont already have one, u are gonna have ot spend more than 3 times for the same capacity v30 card, just not worth it

    Thank you 🙏 Kenneth for your honest review. Much appreciate the BTS of using the XH2S in a real-world scenario. Subscribed right away 🎉😊
    Curious about what happens if you incidentally change the battery without turning off the camera. That's my biggest clue with my x-t3 it lost all the settings and turns into a factory reset state. 😲 I didn't had that with Lumix cameras. Sure we have to shut down the cameras, but things can go wrong.
    Did you had issues regarding this?

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching! Regarding the battery issue, you'll have to leave a fully charged battery in your X-T3 for a few days, for some reason the Fujifilm cameras need the battery charged and in the camera, even when you're storing it. That's the only way I've managed to fix that issue, leave it in the camera, leave it in off for a few days, fix up the settings to your preference and then go out shooting. And don't forget to leave the battery in when storing it! The charge will dissipate after a few days with no battery.

    Okay thank you so much for this! I currently have an FX3 and although it's a great camera I'm feeling a bit bored of it (not to sound pertentious or anything!) it's a fantastic camera but the fuji film colours and "film like" look straight out of camera just makes me want to switch, as well as the "grain like noise". the only fear I have is struggling with the af, even tho I don't film sports or cars or anything like that, more so just vlogs, talking heads and narrative I am still worried a bit ahahha but I think it should be fine for what I need.

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, when I first moved to Fujifilm from Sony, that was one of my biggest worries, but I found the XH2S’ AF is pretty good for what I need it to do - documentary, narrative and talking head. So what I would suggest is maybe rent it if you can and give it a try!

    Arguably it actually is ahead of Canon and Sony systems in terms of specs irrespective of price. XH2S shoots 40 FPS stills continuous 14 bit raw. Internal ProRes and internal Pro Res LT… without an external recorder and black magic raw with an external recorder. AF with firmware 3 is very close to A1 levels. What it is missing IMHO is some of the video assist features of say GH6 (waveforms) or S5ii (LUT upload). These things that I feel a judicious firmware update could resolve if Fuji is serious about pushing this camera. Outside or that and irrespective of price, I feel it’s one of the most capable creative tools available.

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely! I think if they fix little things this would become the best hybrid system out there

      It's not full frame tho, which is a massive con for a lot of users. Especially when it's priced in the same range as a lot of amazing full frame cameras. Also, not a lot of glass choice unfortunately. I've personally returned mine for these and couple other reasons - went with a different brand, and I am very happy with my choice.

    Hi I follow your chanel and look at your videos about Xh2s. Im in dilema between xh2s and Panasonic S5II. I mostly make video in low light. What do you recommend?

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching! I’ve actually never had a hands on experience with the S5II so I can’t say which to recommend, but based on what I’ve seen the S5II does handle low light pretty well, your safest bet is to definitely go Sony for low light, but there’s a lot of factors to consider other than the noise performance of a camera. If you know what you’re shooting and how, I think you’ll be able to determine the best choice for your own needs. What I do recommend is seeing if there’s a place around your area to rent the 2 cameras to test out which camera suits your needs, hope this helps!

    Just curious. How do you expose for f-log 2? I saw you were +2 in exposure during the AF test.
    Also, I'm not sure I'm doing wrong, but my footage definitely looks noiser at the base 1250 ISO for F-Log 2 (Sharpness & Noise Reduction at -4). Your footage looked so clean! Are you using a denoiser?

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tend to try and expose to +2/3 but at the same time it really does depend on the situation, sometimes you can’t rely solely on the exposure dial you have to look at the image itself and see whether or not it looks good.
      And no, I wasn’t using denoiser, so it may be from exposure, if you don’t get the right exposure it might cause noise as well.

    1080P suffers quite a bit with the Fuji, huh?
    Well ... is it just with the Fuji? Or wouldn't the 1080P also suffer if you had a camera from any other manufacturer which had the same exact video specs?

    • @kwillim
      @kwillim  ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, I feel like all cameras will suffer a bit at 1080p, but the Fuji suffers quite heavily with noise at 1080p
