Aurora Tutorial 1: Getting Started

  • Welcome to Aurora, a spectral reverb capable of a wide palette of sounds: from lush caverns and whale songs, to alien textures you've never created before. And likely, will invoke a hunger for exploration you felt when you first touched a modular synth.
    Aurora uses a phase vocoder audio engine which separates the input signal's time and pitch domains. By blurring these signals you can achieve beautiful time-stretched tails, or cybernetic metallic effects.
    Since Aurora’s sonic response is entirely dependent on the input signal, no two patches will sound alike, lending itself to an infinite world of surprise and discovery.
    Discovery. It’s why we are all here.
    Width: 12HP
    Depth: 22mm

    These are really great videos. There's an introduction to some terms and ideas that might be new to users, but it doesn't go so far into theory and algorithms to be intimidating or obtuse. The videos are informative, not intentionally mysterious like some un-named boutique module makers from my home state of NC. Thanks.

      Thanks so much for the kind words! Many more videos in the pipeline - so stay tuned!

    I just played with this thing for the first time and man this opens up my sound palette. Simple patch Wiard Osc -> Borg LP-> Qpas -> DLD -> Zverb and then to Aurora (yes verb in to Aurora) This sounds awesome!

    Love the module, really interesting how you managed to sync the LED interface with what's going on with sound on the back! Great stuff.

    I’d love to see the warp function also be able to do the fullwave-rectified octave up sound too at some sort of knob point. Because that’s a fun effect to put into the feedback path of a reverb, be it analogue spring or algorithmic

    Will the production modules retain the slight difference in black color?

    • @nathaniel_haefner
      @nathaniel_haefner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it’s a PCB faceplate instead of their normal black aluminum so the LED lines can show through. So probably.

      Greetings @buzzfunk ! Let's get you sorted out asap.
      First off--make sure you are in the initial knob position.
      This is a good place to return to occasionally. Initial knob position can be seen here:

      If you still see only purple, let's get you some support:
