Ironically, Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the Giants when they won this SB against the Bills. His genius dismantled that no huddle offense.
since the inception of the SB era in 1966, the Giants have pretty much been a crappy organization sprinkled with some amazing seasons here and there resulting in SB victories...they don't make the playoffs very often, but when they do, they do damage..
These early '90s Bills teams were really amazing. Twice ('91 and '93) the Bills were OFFICIALLY Ranked 27th on Defense yet there they were in the S.B. both years. That is 27th out of 28 teams and those were the OFFICIAL NFL Rankings.
You young'uns just have no concept of what happened before 2001 do you? The Giants' first SB they were 17-2 and destroyed the Broncos, knocking Elway out of the game. In SB XXV they were 16-3 with the most suffocating defense in the league, including LT at his best. That team only gave up more than 20 points ONE TIME in the entire season - 19 games! The Bills were good but c'mon kid - be better. Oh, I forgot, you're not even an American.

@STG PDAI119 Anyone who says the Music City Miracle was a forward pass, I just say that Beebe was out of bounds on his TD catch in the Comeback. Although Kevin Dyson got the TD in the Music City Miracle, he came up short in the Super Bowl.
tygrkhat40 problem is the one play to Beebe didn’t end the game. No saying they wouldn’t have just scored on another play after beebes catch. The forward pass run back ended the game.
Football fans in Houston have their revenge Last January for the wild card playoff game when the Bills blew a 16-0 lead and the Texans came from behind and won it in overtime.
The Bills were no doubt the better team. If they played 10 times the Bills would have won at least 8. I give the giants credit they had a great game plan & executed it to perfection.
Since Tom Brady and Gronk are out of the division and with the Bills getting Stefon Diggs, our time has come to win the division. No matter what happens, I will be always be a passionate Bills fan. I will watch them and love them for the rest of my life until the day I die. Let's Go Buffalo!!!
I am brazilian and I used to watch this team games... so hard to get some information about in that time here. So I learned love this team before love nfl. Go Bills!
While Norwood deserves blame for missing the FG, the Bills offense did a lousy job on that final drive. From the 2 min warning onward, they ran 4 running plays to just 2 pass plays. Those 4 run plays took one minute and fourteen seconds off the clock. Not to mention, they had 2nd down with 8 seconds left when Kelly spiked the ball right before the field goal. They certainly could've ran one more sideline pass to take a few more seconds off and try to give Norwood a more manageable distance.
dennis gadulka that and the fact that Kelly underthrew Lofton, Talley missed tackles TWICE on third and long, Smith did t force a fumble on the safety, and the Bills didnt capitalize on the safety.
I find it no coincidence that bellicheck was the defensive coordinator of all people when the Giants beat this team and limited that bills offense to under 20 points.
and he and Parcells are exactly what won the Giants that game too without ANY doubt. That Bills offense was a juggernaut, ask the Raiders whom they stomped 51-3 in the Divisional round of those playoffs. Bellichek's defense and Parcells ground-n-pound was the only way they were winning that game, and they executed it to a tee too. No way they could get into a shootout with Kelly and win. Coaching means so so so much more than many people realize.
It wasn't a great defensive sceme that stopped the Bills in SBXXV, it was a case of the best defense being a good offense. The Giants kept the Bills offense off the field. Still, the Bills managed 17 points in the 19 minutes they had the ball. If Norwood's kick is 4 feet to the left, the story would have been the Giants losing the game despite dominating time of possession.
Thing is, they don't hate Norwood in Buffalo. The fans actually threw him a bunch of support after that loss. I mean at the end of the day, Norwood had never made a field goal from that distance on grass. It's not like he shanked a gimme.
I remember the Bills 4 AFC titles in a row? Because teams had to go through Buffalo in the dead of winter. We all knew that, and fell it was a weakness in the NFL, Denver had a similar advantage and lost their share of superbowls along with Buffalo. Nowadays its ridiculous for 50,000 people to sit in -25 degrees for a football game that turns into a game of rugby. New stadiums and no more winter team domination.
The one thing that makes me sick about the game that no one talks about is that the Bills let 13 tick off the clock before calling a timeout after stopping the Giants on third down. 13 seconds! If they had those extra 13 seconds, Jim Kelly could have ran another play or two and gotten Norwood closer. But for some reason no one ever talks about that!

Here is the another thing too. Bills could have made adjustment realizing that the Giants were taking way the pass, but leaving the Giants open to run. If the Bills had switch to a running attack and also played keep away they could have one the game. One other thing to point out as well on the last drive ABC had put a statistic that Scott Norwood was 1 for 5 on natural grass at 40+. I was watching that SB and rooting for the Bills and I kept thinking that when they get this drive going and get in FG range the Giants are toast but they did their kicker no favors on grass btw by only setting him up for a 47 yarder which is not an easy kick by any stretch. If you have the most potent offense in the league then you should be able to put your kicker in a pretty much gimme chip shot type kick to win it so I blame Kelly and their O line for not winning at the point of attack for all the marbles not the kicker.Buffalo deserved that loss and the other 3 they were too snakebit to have a chance. 3rd best team to never win the super bowl is the 90 Bills? That Bills team would mop the floor with ANY Patriots team they try to place ahead of them.
They couldn't wipe the floor with a team that lost their starting QB, you think they'd beat a Tom Brady-led team in a shootout? Lol, just lol.
0:07 Benigno Never saw '93 Chiefs or '03 Chiefs
Los bills son el primer equipo que la empieza a Cruzazulea primero que Cruz Azul perder 4 campeonatos seguidos es una mamada unica

Its called Home Games, my friend. They won home advantage in Regular season. Playing in December/January at cold places like GB, Minnesota, or Buffalo is part of the essence of the NFL.
@@irvv1187 The AFCs best would get buried in snow by the Bills or Bronco's. Who would then get to play battered spouse to whoever won the NFC championship game, which we considered the real Superbowl. The home-field advantage is always in play my friends, nowadays without the frostbite. See it like the upgrade from leather helmets, it helps prevent injury. Silly debate but WTH? We're quarantined.
By far the stupidest comment I've ever read; Prima-donna
