Thank you so much. Not going to pay a shop for these services as I can do everything here! Just never have done the water pump/impellar service before! Looks easy though! I’ve got a 90 SHO!
Если распредвалы у него такие же, как на ф115-130 сил,и нет задушающего рестриктора на всасывающем диффузоре, то можешь прокачать свой мотор путëм перепрошивки эбу, либо замены эбу на другое от ф130. Excellent video. As others have said, no fluff, silly music and all that jazz. Just great step by step detail. The video and audio is also great. Many times the audio on these 'how-to' videos really sucks. I'm getting a yamaha SHO next week. After watching this video, I'll feel less intimidated when it comes to doing my own maintenance.

Great video with very detailed step by step instructions. Thanks! Also, do you have any videos on troubleshooting or replacing the fuel pump on a vf155?
What no checking the gap on the plug's? That is one thing allot of people forget to do every year is to check and replace the lower unit oil and replace the water pump impeller. Great video Jon!!
Thank you. I am very new to boats. Someone gave me a brand new boat that uses this same model Yamaha outboard engine. I came to watch this video because I was curious how to know if I can visually inspect if I damaged my engine by accidentally running it out of water. I turned on the engine for 30sec not realizing it was angled out of water. When I accelerated, i notice d I wasn't moving...and another 30s later I realized engine wasn't in the water.. then I lowered engine into water. I wonder how much damage i did . Is there a way to know?
You may have worn the impellar just abit . As long as water is coming out the side hole ..you’re good for now …not the first person to do that 😁. Maybe plan a new impellar in the near future. Cheap way to be sure
I'm installing a Yamaha hour meter in this very engine. The plug wires are obviously different than what I'm used to, and they seem to all be tied into one bundle. I'm assuming I wrap the meter lead wire around the single bundle? Any help appreciated. Thanks!
I just repowered my 21' CC. Went from a Yamaha 150 Two Stroke to a Yamaha 175 VMax SHO. Replaced the old wire steering and put on a new Sea Star hydraulic steering and Linco Electric Trim Tabs. Engine currently has 45 minutes on it, so I have to break it in for 10 hours. If you ever get up to Southeastern North Carolina around the Sunset Beach area, let's go fishing and tell lies about the one that go away.
About the same upgrades I made to our boat. We have done a lot of redfishing in the Topsail area. We are from NC originally. Same to you…if you make it South ..hit us up
@@SWCFLORIDA Will do. I just checked the 10 day forecast and there's a lot of liquid sunshine over the next few days. Only two or three days when its not a high probability of rain. Of course, rain is only part of the struggle, the wind also has to be right as you well know. May as well stay home if the wind is blowing 15 to 20 mph. But April is just around the corner and the flowers, bees, and butterflies are on the way as well as 70 degree days and 4 MPH wind.

Also have to ask- do you drain your oil each time or have you ever extracted it? There’s so many folks to tell me to not touch my drain bolt (I’ve done 3 change so far) and said overtime no matter how careful you are with torquing, it’ll eventually strip. I know manual says you can do either or, but torn on how to go about it in the future and if I have to worry. Thanks!
I have never vaccumed one out ..I know it’s done a lot though…My years wrenching on many different boats I have never run into a stripped oil bolt. Sure it happens. As long as your getting all the oil out it should be fine. In my opinion
Sorry but I have to ask. When you unscrewed the gas filter assembly and replaced the fuel filter, why didn't you dump the contents of the fuel filter assembly ?? There would be crap that was filtered and still in there and the o-ring ?? Wouldn't you put a new one??
Forgot to ask! When you tighten the 6 bolts on the lower unit (the ones visible), do those have a specified torque and do you just tighten enough like an oil drain bolt? Just prepping to do mine!
