Thanks, Ron, for making time at the bench even more enjoyable. I really appreciate the time you have given to the many Smart projects and that you share your experience and creativity.
UJK have started making these as “long anchor dogs”, have to buy the knobs separately which are M8 x 40mm so need cutting down also. Excellent idea Ron! I will be using these to make a table saw cradle much like yours but mounted to the underside of my bench.
Wow, sold out already. I was going to buy some even though I dont have the bench made yet just to have for when I get on it this winter and the connects are already gone. I hope they'll make more soon. I did sign up for their waiting list.
TSO is great at notifying you when items are back in stock. I've placed many orders with them and they have always done a great job. I look forward to being able to purchase smart connect dogs and knobs. I noticed that the more costly Speed Knobs will also work instead of the more economical Star Grip Knobs. The Speed Knobs don't require the washer which might be worth the cost if one is prone to misplacing such things.
Well that was a crazy fast sellout. Looking forward to getting an email from them when they are available again. Thanks again for the innovation. Hopefully they make a large quantity next time. Also, I'm assuming you were recommending 10 packages of 2, not 20 packages of 2 (ie 40 pieces). By "set" I'm guessing you were referring to a set of 1 smart connect and 1 Star Grip Knob.
I struggled with that for years and finally converted everything to 18mm. I should have done it from day one. Not only does it work with the rest of the world, it is necessary for the 32mm system. 18mm is a lot more than a size, it is part of an industry system that has been accepted worldwide since ww2. For cabinet makers and woodworkers, imperial is an exercise in futility that cost money and time. I am speaking as someone who fought it for 2 decades, but I can be thick headed or a knucklehead as my dad called me.😎🤙
I have neither, but I'm in the market for some. I like this Smart Connector design better than the new Power-Loc connectors because it maintains the top threaded hole for screwing in a clamp. Plus, less moving parts = longer lasting. Pro to the Power-Loc is that it can do 3/4" + 3/4" connect... the Festool MFT top is 3/4", which is what I have. Any chance you can convince TSO for the creation of a v2 - longer Smart Connector?
Hi Ron, do you use these now to attach you table saw etc instead of making the dowels? I only recently finished making you smart bench, is there anywhere in Ireland i can get those dags? Thanks
Ron, I'm building the PSB and accessory wings out of 1/2" AC ply (I have a surplus on hand) and I'm wondering if these would work? I think the shanks on the dogs would be too long - maybe I'd have to double the thickness on the wing accessories? Would love to hear your thoughts
Great innovation! Now they just need to tweak the design to work for us with 3/4" holes lol Expand the markets overnight Now to start planning my new Paulk Smart bench build
Well Dang it! I just saw this video and find out they are already sold out. They must have ran a small first batch. TSO please run a larger batch PRONTO!
I’m confused...how are these any different than the Parf anchors sold by Axminster? Are yours just taller? I mean those, Parf anchors, have been out for over a year. I have a few sets myself and they are pretty nice. Not knockin’...just curious is all.
@@richardtullius6419 It was hard to find. I ordered it from a Plywoodexpress in Pompano. They do custom veneering of plywood.I also got two sheets of their uncoated 5 ply birch. The surface veneer was splintery.
I tried to order park dogs from TSO Products over a month ago. Still nothing in the mail and the company doesn’t call back to discuss options to resolve my order. Very disappointing
I have checked multiple times and they always show "in stock." I just checked again and was able to put them in my cart? tsoproducts.com/accessories/bench-dogs/doublegroove-20mm-smart-connect-bench-dogs-pair/?aff=3
@@TheSmartWoodshop Hi Ron they also showed my products were available in the cart. The problem is they don’t ship the products to me. I only live 45 minutes away from the distribution center. Its so frustrating. I have called and emailed several times. I get great lip service but no products yet. These were order April 16 almost two months ago. Very disappointed with TSO products ordering process. Have a good day
Good thing you're a woodworker and not a salesman. Minute after minute of explanation when all you need to do is show a close-up of the dog being dropped in from the top and the knob screwed in from the bottom. Is the dog made flush with a little pressure from screwing them down? Or does the 20mm hole in the workpiece require the chamfered edge for the dog to be flush? This could have been shown with about 20 seconds of close-up video, but after 6+ minutes of blather its still unclear.

The Star Grip Knob Washer is fixed on the bolt so it won't fall off.
@@TheSmartWoodshop Excellent! Thanks for the critical information.
I'm glad to be ordering these, but WOW! The shipping is ridiculously expensive!

Correct. A total of 20 bench dogs and knobs or 10 pairs
My problem is that all my bench dog holes in through out my shop are 3/4" 19mm
Hope the company see the value in 19mm also.

Love it! Keep up the good work. Awesome videos
Well this video was up for 6 hrs when I saw it. I didn’t watch the video- just jumped on the link to TSO. Whooshka.... All gooone. Sigh!
I was on their site TWO hours after the video dropped and they were gone already! (1AM Pacific)
@@dadick832 Hmm, well it seems that was a very limited run, indeed. Let’s hope they pump some more out soon.

TSO is already sold out of the Smart Dogs, I did get 5 sets of the deluxe knobs. Well it gives me time to build my bench.
Love to get these but the shipping cost to Australia is CRAZY!

@@TheSmartWoodshop ah ok. I thought was the case but wasn’t 100% sure. Thanks for letting me know 👊🏻
Dude, watch the video, they aren’t the same as any Parf dogs, they fit flush and fit into the 45 degree chamfer on the bench 20mm holes.
@@richardtullius6419 dude...look up parf anchors and you’ll see why I asked Ron the question that I did.

Keep up the great work!
When will they have more. I want5-10 sets
TSO is currently on it and already ramping up the next run. They can now judge the inventory level to maintain.😎
Sweet! Keep the video’s coming!
Must be something wrong here, been waiting for these and video up for 4 hours and no way to order!
Yep, I tried earlier, too. At least I got my name on the notification waitlist. I want to snag some as soon as production ramps up.
Ron, I went with 3/4 phenolic coated birch for my bench. Will these be long enough?
Yep😎

Not suprised at the price for a one off item.
do they ship to Canada
I'm also curious about this. Ultimate Tools does not have them and they are the Canadian reseller that I am aware of.

Wow. 10 knobs cost $106 to send to australia. Wtf?
Yeah, I passed as well. TSO sucks on shipping cost to Aus. Find someone in US willing to help.

4:10 he explains this exactly, as he does in basically every video, it's a key part of his parf utilization. Your username is apt.
