Hey, I just wanted to say I came across this video and it was one of the top videos when I searched "Lfo mod remap vital", I was skeptical at first but you truly earned my subscription, excellent job! Your voice is pleasant to listen to and your workflow is efficient and knowledgeable, keep making videos, they're fantastic! I can't wait to see where you are in a few years time!
Thank you very much, I really hope you're right, I've been working on and off on this channel for like 2 years, and I'm just getting close to 1000 subs now. Anything you would like me to discuss in future videos?
Thank you for this tutorial, I couldn't understand what I was looking at with mod remapping and this removes a lot of limitations I was feeling with Vital.
@@platipo coming from a modular background, I always loved multing modulators and sending them through different processors. That's what this feels like
High! This is a fine tutorial and will recommend it to Vital friends. Also, the link that you offer to your presets is a road to nowhere. Keep up the good work.
Nope, not that I know of at least; the most logical, though somehow labour intensive way of getting complex modulations out of SurgeXT is to use the various exotic modes of LFOs, including the formula.
And seeing as you asked, yes I liked this vid 😊 Dash is great and all but I honestly feel I get more from your vids. I am a 'psytrancer' and have been since it was Goa Trance before super saw trance, before the virus synth. One of the things I enjoy doing is listening to, for example, TIP compilation albums, chronologically, listening for the sounds changing as technology advanced. You can really hear when certain artists first released tracks with a virus synth for example, it changed the whole sound. But I digress, for me, Dash makes modern psy with all its randomised patterns and triple bass etc etc but I kinda feel compared to early trance its lost some kinda spark of breaking musical barriers, the scope for creativity has narrowed and it seems people expect psy to be a certain thing whereas in '95 they had no expectations. I remember hearing stuff I could never have imagined, and noone could because these sounds had if ever, rarely been tweaked out of a synth as the artists pushed those machines trying to get crazier and crazier noises to come out of them! So, back to my point, I think your vids, for me, have more of that exploration aspect. Dash has an end goal, make psy. You just wish to push the synth in exploration for its own sake. I prefer that. I really enjoy your vids 👍🏻👍🏻
Maybe add a patreon account as Dash has, not necessarily as an income stream, but I think when Dash says he's making his patches available to his patreon community, it creates an impression that there's extra value in his vids, community. I really think that makes a difference whether people subscribe to his patreon or not, psychologically viewers get the impression people are paying the extra for his stuff therefore his vids are worth watching, almost like they're getting something for free? Community is like a Youtubing catchphrase, your not building a channel, your building a community. I think getting large amounts of views is a bit like a double edge sword, if you've got a niche output which is interesting enough to attract viewers, there's a certain amount of viewers who watch without the promotional BS. if you want to expand, you need to sucker in the ones who are attracted to that "vibe"
but i was wondering why aren’t you making more views, maybe the youtube algorithm is downgrading your vids because you dont have a full hd camera with proper lighting or due that you dont make transitions/cuts or you are not following the clickbait trends?? …. wahw that’s a shame , you are one of the most prepared in terms of sound design !
Thank you very much, I wish I knew. My channel is growing, slowly but steadily, the webcam is HD, and I also do those few cuts and transitions, and even got to adding thumbnails. Yet up to now, my most "successful" video was that one about FM synthesis, which didn't have any of that :D
@@platipo try writing "fire beat! 🔥" in the title or on the thumbnail haha just kidding. Your videos are super informative and very calm, they are relaxing in a way haha

Once you go down the rabbithole, the possibilities are endless, it is imho the most precious, and somehow obvious thing every synth missed till now :)
