Shaligrams are ammonite fossils found in Kali gandaki river in parts of Nepal. Actually they are Mesozoic organisms, same as the era of dinosaurs. Some 250 to 66 Millions years ago.
If u want to believe it has energy then do, everyone has their believe systems.
