Chris I went on amazon to see how much a premade acoustic panel were. $68 per panel. I need atleast 7 of them. So your idea is much cheaper. Don't forget about the bass traps in the corners too!
This is not at all correct! All this dudes is take reverb/reflections in your room and that's it! You'll still have standing waves issues cancelation, and a host of problems to contend with! To combat this all panels should be between 4", and 18"thick, along with air gaps as well. Mass is what you want and in small rooms space is premium. All these will do is take reflections in your room. That's it!

Great point! I previously had some soft sticky gels (kind of square shaped) that gave a little seperation, but I lost them in all our moving 😅
