  • This very iconic recognizable beauty is a classic gem from Italy. The famous Leverletto! The article behind Bill Deshivs creating this model is very interesting to read. He wanted to create something unique yet classic that has Italian written all over it. It has the top bolsters similar to a picklock Italian stiletto and rear bolsters of an Inox slim body. Very powerful kick and locks up real tight. The one in this video features the cocobolo wood scales. They do also come in a variety of stag, snake wood, santos wood, and more! Such a gorgeous knife that has everything you would want in a switchblade.
If you're a true automatic knife collector, you need a Leverletto in your collection, hands down. No, I said down!

The Leverlettos are such nice knives! Some of the Chinese copies are good too.
Bill is my go-to expert on everything switchblade related. Mechanisms, history, maintenance, etc., he knows it all!

FYI- Bill's name his name is a pun. "build da shivs" (shiv, is slang for a knife).

This was actually my first purchase into switchblades. Grabbed 2 stag I believe ones like 6" and one may be a 9" but they are beautiful!

I received one of these from an Italian friend who said his father always carried one of these for decades upon decades . Seems fitting for me . I really like how it fits in pocket with no clip so it lessens the chance of losing a good knife . We should take all the pocket clips except for the milled one s😂. 👍👍. Good vid

Love this knife. Mine is Abalone. You were right though. These deploy like bronco on steroids. Great video. I dropped mine a few years ago. What a bummer

These are getting very hard to find do they have any collector value?

OfCourse! These were popular in the early 2000's. They're well built, durable, fun little Italian knives. Original AKC is an Italian company and Bill Deshivs is from the US so I'm still uncertain as to how and when they collaborated from over seas as I was just a child at the time learning about this hobby. But they were sold all over the web at the time. Some people will occasionally sell one on AAPK but the "easiest" way to get one would be to reach out to Bill Deshivs himself and get one custom built but you can expect it to be on the higher price side.

@@ctknifevids7466 thank you for the information sir I have two lever lettos from Bill. Never been used they are just a piece of art in my eyes. I would never sell these knives. Bill has verified for me that they are genuine.

hey i recently got a korean rizzuto but have you seen many that say "made in korea" on the tang? normally i just see korea on the swing guard or tang but not made in korea.

The only Korean Rizz I had was a 10 inch and it said "stainless steel" on the tang and that's it, didn't have Korea written anywhere but I suppose some of those markings can vary as such like you mentioned.

Got the Bill Deshivs joke the first time I saw it. Too bad some dealers try to pass these Chinese copies off as the real Italian AKC's.

Yea for real, I consider it a scam, people just trying to get in on the money off of someone else's credit. Interesting world we live in hu.

    I'm not entirely sure. . .but I think . . .Shiv . . I like in Crib not "E" . .not sheeve. . .a shiv is a home made prison stabber. . . Build the Shiv . . Bill DeShivs

I prefer lever release knives because they're safer, with no need for a weak manual safety.
I have a Leverletto I got from China that is GORGEOUS and supremely well-crafted. I suspected it was a copy when I saw it has a screw holding the lever spring on. It also does not say "Bill DeShivs" underneath Leverletto on the flat ground blade, but does have identical markings for AKC Italy.
It has dark, bone scales and everything is fully ground and polished together with brass bolsters and steel lever. The spring is what I would call an improvement in being round steel rod anchored by a large diameter frame pin. For the money it is indeed a quality built knife - for 4x the money it's a quality built knife! IF it's a knockoff it's a damn fine one!
