Growing Pains is the greatest family sitcom ever! it's funny and serious the acting is great the pacing is good with high energy has fun storylines and it has a fourth wall episode that's very creative. everything about it is absolutely perfect. it's literally the perfect show!

When he mentioned a gross ritual and gum I thought one thing: the cast passed around a wad of gum that they each chewed on for a few seconds. The same wad.
I heard Tracey mention in other interviews that she struggled with self esteem issues even before she was on Growing Pains. The show may have contributed to her anorexia, but she was already struggling with image issues before that.
Because eating disorders are never just the result of one thing. Her mother struggled with bulimia. So she had a genetic predisposition to an eating disorder. And when she was 12, she had a bout of anorexia that she recovered from. She was fine for years, but the writers constantly making jokes about how fat she was made her to relapse. So while they weren’t entirely to blame for her anorexia, it is no question that they were the reason why she relapsed back into anorexia. You don’t make fat jokes about someone who had already had such a terrible issues with body image before. Especially when she was nowhere near fat to begin with.
The main reason this show was not remembered or made an impact like others before or after it is because of the writers of the show. The fact that the writers made fun of one of the actors weight in the show itself shows this is not a reccomendable positive family show. No wonder it got canceled. I guess the writing was so bad that even Leo's character could not save it.
I knew of Tracey Gold's anorexia. Those writers were wrong to do that to her. Besides, she was perfect as was. Not overweight in the least. Mr. Thicke, we miss you! RIP I loved watching Ben grow into a mischevious girl hound, a younger Mike, if you will!

I don't know why Jeremy was so jealous of Leonardo DiCaprio because he was I think a little more cuter much more cuter than Leonardo DiCaprio I did not have got older he got more good looking but at the time growing pains was filmed I think he was cuter than Leonardo
I LOVE the TV show but HATED the directors/producers allowed Julie to play the babysitter. They should have NEVER tarnished that great show with someone who posed for nude photos. Disgusting!

Alan Thicke was pretty popular, and Kirk Cameron is well liked as well. I like the way the dad on the show has the first name that I've got.
