    I can definitely relate to the paralysis by analysis phenomenon. I'm pretty sure I spend more time thinking about things and researching then I actually do in building and doing them.
    I already had those lights on my Amazon wishlist for when I get my new garage, so glad to see another example of how great they are.

    Changed the whole room with just lighting! No more dark shelves, dark corners, dark anything! Love it!

    I've been using the 4 foot, 5000 lm lights around the house for a year and they've been great. I finally ordered these last week for the garage. I may order a second set and have 20 lights in there!! lol.

    Nice job Patrick. I was interested in the strip LED's, but wanted to get an idea of how powerful they were for a garage size workshop.

    I just got done painting my drywalled/unfinished garage and cleaning/epoxying the floor, so I KNOW that painting time lapse doesn’t do the effort justice. Great job man, looking forward to the build out.

    I surface mounted 2 sets of Barrina LEDs. They failed after no more than 4,000 hours. I believe the problem was that the surface mounted tubes could not dissipate the heat
    generated by the tubes. I then bought a series of Hylokjity tubes and hung them with 5 inches of clearance from the ceiling and they passed the 4,000 hour mark with no problems. I hope your experience is better than mine was.

    New shop looks awesome! I head to the lumber yard tomorrow to pick up some materials for my RTT build. Are you not concerned about the ceiling sagging down when you load up that rack above the garage door? I know mine did when I had it loaded up with some storage totes in the attic and the rack I installed above the door.

    • @PatrickRemington
      @PatrickRemington  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David West nah not really. I don't plan on loading it fully up. It's been great so far!

    • @vgullotta
      @vgullotta 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PatrickRemington The shop looks great so far, but I think you should relocate those cross boards on the over the garage door lumber rack, to the top of the board they are currently screwed into instead of the bottom of it. Right now, all that lumber weight would be held up by the threads of those screws, I don't think that will last.

    Well....I know what lights I'm getting for my house!
    And by the way....replace those old ceiling fans with some new metal-blade high-velocity fans. They are usually about 60" diameter or smaller, with 3 blades. A worthy investment.

    you should try to get setup with amazon so you can link anything you buy from them and use in videos then add it to the video descriptions. get a bit of a kick back on anything we buy through your links.

  • @ZeMarkKrazee

    It looks like you’ve made quite a bit of progress! In the future, you should look into light diffusion panels either preinstalled or installed by you afterwards. I find it an interesting choices from the manufacturer to put plastic shielding along the led channels, but they did not make them diffuse the light. Without diffusion, the high focal intensity of the lights can cause eye strain. Diffusion helps reduce focal intensity and eye strain and provides greater clarity in your shop by reducing the shadows. The only other concern I had was regarding LEDs in the shop: higher temperatures can be found in shops and will reduce lifespan. It looks like you have a window AC unit and fans which should help mitigate this risk, however.

    • @A.R.C.E
      @A.R.C.E 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where can I get diffusers for my lights?

    • @ZeMarkKrazee
      @ZeMarkKrazee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@A.R.C.E That depends on what type of light bulb/source you have and your light fixtures. Generally, you can find some on Amazon or eBay. I believe you can use polystyrene diffusion sheets. You could also potentially use parchment paper, but it usually doesn’t look as nice. I’ve seen some people use plexiglass and other things as well. I would do a search for diffusion sheets or panels to try to find something that meets your individual specifications
