its better in some ways, but idk if its better overall, parkour is better in 2,gearing system is a plus for me,larger world to explore...but it def has some downgrades over the first,i still cant decide for sure
@deenman23 i still enjoyed number 2, but the overall handcrafted feeling of number 1 (smaller world but less repeated slope over and over and more standout survivor bases and locations), the atmosphere that almost feels like a true horror game but also so hopeful at times, night was just perfect mix of actually frightening and dark from the start, I love the side quests more myself, and while the park our is more simple, I like the design of the world more to run through even multiple times. But I still liked 2, I just think I'll like the beast more as it seems a return to a smaller/ more detailed world.
@@ericwages9520 I don't mind the atmosphere changes in DL2 since the game looks good to me but I can't get over the procedurally generated world of DL2. It's a let down compared to DL1.
Im here in 2025 I just got this on sale for like $5.99 on STEAM this game ROCKS. The way the story flows and it doesn't leave you lost in the way of playing the game. Can't wait to play this again today.
I had this game in my steam library a long time. 1 day when i was bored and had nothing to play it started this game. Oh boi the game was/is amazing. Cool open world and trolling zombies. Good story to.
Dont get ur hopes up much. After DL1 techland got acquired by tencent. Looking at dying light 2s launch, monitization from that point onwards and where the game is rn with them announcing a new game while DL2 is still unfinished and getting hate left and right.... might aswell just replay dying light AGAIN lmao
@@classicidenity it’s definitely a matter of preference if you’re torn, but imo Dying Light just offers so much value. Unless you really value a good story and 3rd person, go with Dying Light. You can get the definitive edition on sale most of the time and that includes 7+ years of updates including expansions and DLC. Gameplay is really fun, and I’ve yet to find zombie combat that FEELS as satisfying as whacking a zombie in DL1. And having a 1st person parkour movement system feels somewhat strange but once you get used to it it’s incredible. Anyway, those are just a few of my thoughts. Hope it helped!
Dying light 1? Yes, even at full price, the definitive version gives you SO much content, now dying light 2? Even the base version? I dont really think so, maybe for a discount but not full price
Personally, didnt like the review since its explained more like a survival zombie game rather than a parkour zombie game. Some of the stuff is good i guess (except the lack of reviewing the ost) but one detail was forgotten and it was how sandbox this game really is, how you're able to get special items from the start and more.
I am thinking of buying the dying light 1 standard edition because i am getting it for very cheap, should i go for it, or save money and buy and buy dying light enhanced edition, I am only interested in the base game, no dlcs. Tell me?
In all honesty, the enhanced edition is just a lot more worth your buck mostly because it comes with the post-game expansion called "The Following" which expands more on the game's lore, introduces new mechanics and it gives you a new huge map to explore. That alone makes the enhanced edition miles above the standard one and imo while the standard edition is about 5 bucks cheaper (depends on where you're from), you're essentially getting the bare bones edition. Anyway, get the enhanced edition! P.S.: The definitive edition only costs a buck more than the enhanced edition but it's all extra skin bundles.
How does the game look on PC? My son just finished TLOU Part 1 and he wants another zombie world to experience. Days Gone was only $12 on Steam so I bought that. I warned him that TLOU will be hard to top with world and story.
This game aged very good graphically. The menus not so much. But I like the graphic style much better than Dying Light 2. It is neutral and rather realistic. And a lot of love has been put in the detail.
even as a max lvl with all the best weapons, you still struggle... it is frustrating aswell. Sometimes you WILL have to fight virals and I once had missed a single double barrel shot and got jumped by the viral, then I was stun locked to death by it jumping on me as soon as I kicked it away. Dodging didn't work either. Melee is very frustrating aswell at most of the times, because even if you hit someone with the heaviest looking ever, you will have half a second to dodge back from their counter attack. Humans are so ridiculous it isn't even funny, good luck fighting them in any melee or even with throwing weapons, because 80% of the time, they will either dodge it or block it unnaturally. The parkour system is part of the fun, but it always feels rather buggy than smooth and free flowing. Oh and good luck finding a way to climb down, because you don't get taught how to climb down aswell. Not to mention climbing down is so clunky you always feel like you're going to fall down to your death, even if you're doing it properly.
Thank you for this video! I personally love Dying Light totally. In todays time i am missing games like that. Also the story i liked alot. As you said, combined with the whole package it is very advanced and definitely still enjoyable. Honestly it was one of the games which was a little bit ahead of its time. The graphics was so good back in 2015 that its still on the same level compared with all the cheap games today. My biggest down was the design of the last mission xD. But i liked the story more than for example the story of Dying Light 2 (dont get me wrong. DL2 is also aaaabsolutely nice). But for my personal taste i liked the Crane thing more that the young runner booooi. Keep it up. Have a nice day!
bros vids are word for word almost and the pros and cons section already has been said bro and the "con" about night time is so dumb bro just dont play at night then and the talk of the strory is some bs this whole thing is just repeating the same words bro
No. It's the worst game ever released. Spend 20 hours just to get a gun and bullets. Complete mission successfully to then get a FORCED Cutscene for an impossible mission where I'm unarmed fighting an impossible damage proof boss fight. Demolisher! Deleted the rubbish. THIS GAME IS NOT FUN! I want my $3 back as it's not worth it. It also has the WORST CLIMBING mechanics released in gaming history. 5/100
is this ragebait? For one you aren't really meant to get guns all that early in the story but it's still possible, there's a shack by the ocean which has a pistol and some bullets in it. When you enter rais' garrison you can glitch through those doors and get a bunch of rifles and max ammo for both pistol and rifle. The Pit mission isn't just unarmed, there's weapons scattered around the map, as well as if you actually played the game prior to that rather than just speeding through it, you'd have the throwing melee weapons skill, just find a heavy rebar and throw it into the demolisher and it kills it nearly instantly. If you hit it in the head that is. Don't go for the back like other weird ones do, it's just slower
@@Just_a_Piano_ I hit Demolisher with Rebar x3… 20 throwing stars, 2 barrel explosions and countless machete hits. He took NO DAMAGE. I hate games that openly cheat against the player. Why complete ANY mission if you're only going to impossibly penalised by rigged Cutscene trash. Getting weapons isn't the issue. Poor design and bad design is the issue. Why bother slogging your way to L9 to get weapons to then be given a broken mission putting you back to the beginning. 5/100 game. It's complete trash
@@zigzag8949 then your game is glitched. I literally beat the entire game on stream without using a single weapon. Never had an enemy i couldn't kill. You're either lying to cover up your skill issue or have a glitched game

I'd say it's on par with DL2. But the Enhanced Edition of DL1 is better than DL2 since it has The Following DLC.
