From what I've played in both games I'd say the consistency of dl2's combat feels better, I feel like playing dl1 without skills like stomp is extremely frustrating & annoying because of how most zombies will try to grab you after every melee attack if it hasn't knocked them down & it makes the experience irritating when a regular zombie needs more hits than most others before a full/more than half durability weapon kills it.

There is NO satisfaction when it comes to attacking zombies in the first considering that they don't react accordingly and don't have realism due to how many hits required. Sure, the higher of a level you are, the easier it all is, but if I was being honest, games rely too much on "damage" and not the real LOGIC of a weapon. I find it difficult to get know a single game out there where weapons only increase in damage depending on a perk they have, like SHARPNESS = Bleed. But back to the topic, I believe the E3 version of dying light 2 might have mastered the balance between the two circumstances of combat, regarding how Aiden had trouble with biters in that version. Edit: two handed weapons on all npc's in the first felt abysmal. They give the sensation, but lack the conpensation for the players insatiable satisfaction that comes with terminating an enemy due to lack of responsiveness in the npc.
If y’all played the first dying light would you recommend the second one? I know the developers tried to make it like the first one with a bunch of patches
Yeah, and ignore all the negativity about it it’s just fanboys being stuck in nostalgia and letting their perception be warped to see parts of dl1 as better than dl2 when they’re really a downgrade 😂 I had a larger comment to say about this but it all got messed up and I’m not in the mood to retype it all.
the combat with humans in dl1 was supposed to be tedious, they were humans, of course they would block thus forcing you to be more strategic when fighting with them. I think combat in DL1 is superior with both humans and zombies.
Don’t get everyone’s problem with this. Dying light 1 half assed it and didn’t have enough human conflict. And now they make human enemies fun to fight something that actually kinda matters (you know like in real life, because if it was a real zombie apocalypse it would be just like that.) but oh yeah sure it’s too dumb and unrealistic now because instead of being more worried about the dumb predictable zombies you’re more worried about fighting the real cunning enemies that are the actual threat in a zombie apocalypse. Like I’m sorry but like 99% of the npcs in dl1 run around and act like they’re in a little zombie fun-land amusement park where they can just run and mess around. Literally just to add to all that, you literally have about the same amount of human contact. But oh no they made the combat mechanics better and made fighting human enemies actually feel like fighting and not an annoying slog where they constantly block you and you can’t do shit to them. Like no seriously whats so wrong and bad about them making humans actually fun to fight.? Because they didn’t “just focus on the humans” Because they literally have just as many infected encounters as there are human encounters and you even end up having to deal with the infected as well as other humans. (Which btw rarely happened in dl1. If you were lucky a couple zombies would show up to attack but they didn’t do much 😂)
@@gamedesignerwannabeakavipe7506 For me, DL2 is a better game, but its story is just so dumb. The human enemies are too Marvel-like, and the renegades act like Joker's thugs. Villedor is supposed to be the last bastion of humanity, so why did they decide to make it a game focused on human wars with zombies just included on the side? I hope the DLC2 corrects these flaws and finally avenge the DL we should've got
Dl1 is a game where humans are stuck between thousands of zombies, While Dl2 is an uprising of humans between zombies, i guess that KIND OF validates why Dl2 reversed the combat?
Yo what the hell happened in dl2 in the last few months. I can’t do anything without all these running zombies, spitters, and suiciders coming at me. It makes it to where any combat at all is a death sentence because what use to be the “silent way” ie just using a bladed weapon brings the whole city down on you
Dying light 2 combat has better gore, I mean if you hit an enemy with a blunt weapon enough times you can literally see their brain, I agree dying light light 1 has better ragdoll physics though
That’s about the only thing dl1 has and to be honest, they literally fixed the ragdolling and everyone is still complaining about it like a bunch of sheep or something I have no idea why. But literally everything else in dying light 2 is better. The zombies, the mutated variants, the human enemies, the movement and parkour. And honestly despite it being made up of a few copy and pasted assets (which was literally the same thing as dl1 And no one cared about it in that game 😂.) but it still wasn’t that bad and honestly a better and more fun of a map than dl1. (Except maybe the following purely because you get a buggy, here’s to hoping dying light 2’s second dlc will have a vehicle too. But even if it doesn’t it’s probably gonna be cool still. Techland did say they wanted you to do something different than the following.)
DL2 is leaps and bounds better for 1 reason at minimum: Parries, parkour and combat is a lot more free flowing conpared to DL1, both incredible games nonetheless tho.
@@petitpanierdosier You're not wrong tbf. However, I always find a fight against a volatile very thrilling as it's always a good challenge. And even just a large enough horde of virals is enough to cream you if you aren't prepared for it. But let's be honest humans aren't scary at all and it is almost laughable how much you can just melt them.
Honestly the only problem with dying light 2 is that the old lead developer that was supposed to work on it got wrongly fired because I’m 99% sure they scrapped like 80% of the original game prototype that was lead by the old guy and just completely changed it. It makes sense if you look at the timeline from the old e3 trailer to release, you can kinda tell. The game was announced and looked like how it did in that old prototype, they go silent for a bit while working, the game gets delayed a lot, the problems going on in the company come out during covid or something. So the guy was obviously fired sometime between then. I’m guessing right before the big couple year long delay right before the original release date had almost arrived, was when they fired the guy. They then rushed to rework the 80% of the game they cut out because if the guy they fired having worked on that. And because it was so much to redo, thats why so many other cool things they wanted to add got cut before release and also why the game came out a buggy mess when it first game out. Thats just my theory on it but it honestly lines up. Like there’s whole parts of the map that are just covered in chemicals which wasn’t even there in the first game, and I think it’s to make the map smaller because I think the map was originally supposed to have no chemicals and it was probably some large quarantine wall blocking you from getting to the main city area or something.
I think dying light 1 combat was too easy there the same combat they just made enemies not get stun kicked or flinch from a hit I think that’s why people hate dying light 2 you can hit a zombie and they can still hit you
Hey bro, Love your content and you and bestgamerali inspired me to like dying light 2 again and in doing so, i made a GMV dying light 2 edit, if you could check it out, I would really appreciate it 😊
bro if you rlly said that about fighting humans in dl1 then im sure you are a noob in that game cuz you need to hit in a right moment to land a hit so he doesnt block it or dodge it (like in real life) and you can also block by hitting enemy weapon (mostly like in real life) but in dl2 you just hold your weapon up and human enemy does the same so i can hit his body right? well no i cant cuz he is blocking air and the same goes to aiden and litterally fighting human enemy in dl2 is right click (they will get hit and then block air) and then kick and you do that till he dies
Lmao you’re obviously naive if you said that about fighting humans 😂 for one it doesn’t matter where you hit them if they block you they block and they do it like crazy. You don’t block like at all, and if you do manage to clash your weapons against them it’s clunky and more annoying than anything because it just keeps happening. So at best it just feels like you’re wildly swinging in a slosh fest trying to swipe your enemies to death before they swipe you to death. Now in dying light 2 you can actually block and parry the way it should be in a game (tied to an actual button.) and you do actually have to hit them at the right time to do something. Both are easy to die to but the difference is If you died to the human enemies in dying light 1 it’s because of the broken fighting mechanics and it’s annoying, if you die from the humans in dl2 it’s because you actually messed something up and it’s not that annoying because it’s actually fair. And about the blocking in dying light 2, you do realize they move the blade to block when you hit them, and also thats pretty stupid if all you do is just start kicking them because it literally takes like 20+ kicks to kill an enemy without damaging it at all first. And at least drop kicking makes sense to do a lot of damage, they literally go flying into hard objects. And you obviously didn’t see the in game tutorial 😂 like dude when they block you can’t hit them, and the kicks are to counter it, to open them up to damaging again. Plus you can do a whole bunch of other moves on them that make it way more fun than anything you can do with the human enemies in dying light 1. I may stop playing dl2 for a bit while I play other games, (which I do all the time to other games btw.) but I can never go back to dl1 after dl2. Theres just so much about it that’s far superior to dl1, that literally the only thing I do in dl1 when I do play it again once in a blue moon, is just to mess around in the buggy, and I honestly can’t for that long, the zombies in that game are kind boring and like, there’s not much variety, it’s like you run around seeing twins everywhere, and the zombie mutations are just cartoonish. Like honestly lets talk about the positive changes in dl2 for a change, and also stop calling good changes bad 😂
@@gamedesignerwannabeakavipe7506For as long of an essay your comment is I for one agree, since day one of DL2 i saw its potential and thought it was better than dl1, second i actually had no idea you could kick a blocking enemy to break their guard! Lmfao bro that’s literally the first game 😂 I have no idea what is wrong with you fanboys and being blinded by nostalgia but damn 😂 in dying light 1 the combat is horrible, it’s just a swiping fest to try and swipe your enemies to death before they swipe you to death. Which is 100xs worse with the virals in the first game, especially on nightmare difficulty. everyone complains about the virals in dl2 when they were way worse in the first game. Now in the second game, you’re obviously playing it wrong if all you do is “hit kick hit kick” because there’s literally much more you can do, like you can throw them, you can stun them and do a dropkick off their back into another one. You can get them low enough to do a takedown move on them, which you obviously haven’t been playing recently if you still call the combat bad with all this. You can throw them around with grapple, you can dropkick them, you can literally use the scorpio on them in the coolest combination of shooting them and hitting them with the hammer. Like come on It honestly sounds like you just did the tutorial with the first fight and stopped playing like some loser. 😂
@@Josiah_Dorseyno it’s definitely a skill issue 😂. It’s literally easier to hit enemies in dying light 2 don’t know what kind of pills you’re taking to make the combat in dying light 1 better. Not really dying 2 was stiff all around they switched from a ragdoll system to an animation system they made drop kicks useless ruined gore and made there no sense of weight or impact the guns play a bit better but there are so few that it doesn't matter they also made bow play worse and basically useless the entire game melee weapons were useless as well as all you had to do was upgrade throwing knives and you beat the game they also ruined new game + and ruined the weapons rarity system and made it into farcry 6 style system which is the system that killed farcry 6 for being tedious annoying and in general just unfun the missions and characters in dying light 2 were also tedious fetch missions and the characters were all unbearably annoying to the point they have literally cut and rewritten entire dialogs and missions i could write a book about it " how dying light 2 failed" and the simple answer is they took everything good from the first game and tossed it in the trash then released a rushed crap product with horrid content you couldn't pay me 5 million dollars to complete that game again.
And this hasn't even started on how they killed parkour and made it obstacle courses instead they removed all sense of verticality and made all the ledges bright yellow they removed the ability to climb almost everything they removed the good grappling hook from the first game making it useless in the second game they made building navigation tedious and gave aiden " stage 4 cancer stamina " quite literally I'd rather eat a fresh pile of dog crap off the ground then play dying light 2 for even 1 more second.
Like I can’t even begin to explain how dumb this is. Like literally weapon rarity was the same way in the first game, parkour sucks so badly in the first game, you feel like a snail running around, combat sucks, and it’s fixed in dl2, ragdolling has literally been fixed, and my guy the grappling hook in the first game was fun and all but hello, it doesn’t have to be exactly the same and let’s face it, that was totally unrealistic for a zombie game it was practically just a cheat thing to mess around with and the new grappling hook is much cooler and actually makes more sense. The grappling hook in the first game made no sense. Funny you talk about parkour course bs because they also did the same thing in the first game. Look around you’ll see. And again, parkour was so bad in the first game, you run like a snail, drop like a rock, and have some really clunky moves that are fixed in dl2. Tic-tac always works in dl2. It never works and allways gets me killing by activating when I don’t want it to in the first game.
And don’t act like the characters in dl1 weren’t half-assed. Generic Russian bad dude for a main antagonist. Shallow female character your shallow male character starts simping for right away, who also ends up dying. Like he literally starts getting all googely eyed and obsessive over the first female he sees after landing there. And then theres this whole thing about calling the dl2 characters annoying when they’re not? And I can think of a few dl1 nos that definitely are annoying. But Istg you fanboys are so blinded by nostalgia you look for anything you can to call it bad 😂
And on top of all that your main character in dl2 actually isn’t shallow and actually has a backstory and actually cares about something. But you can never tell what Kyle cares about if anything at all.only by the end of A QTE BOSS FIGHT LIKE WOW does it become kinda clear.
Dl1 had much better combat than 2 in general, the fights with humans in dl2 are downright terrible in my opinion, where enemies just form a line that decides who will attack you first. Zombie combat is just unresponsive, either you whail on them or they whail on you, and there is no real in-between.
Exactly, plus in my opinion a lot of people keep complaining about like the smallest and dumbest details ever, that or just complaining about something different in the game that’s literally better than the first one. 😂
@@gamedesignerwannabeakavipe7506 the details in the first game weren't noticeable until the 2nd game came and didn't include those details. I do think people exaggerate how bad DL2 combat is but they do have a point when they say it's not as good for them.

In DL you can use bow on humans, just 1 shoot to the head.🎉

If y’all played the first dying light would you recommend the second one? I know the developers tried to make it like the first one with a bunch of patches
Yeah, and ignore all the negativity about it it’s just fanboys being stuck in nostalgia and letting their perception be warped to see parts of dl1 as better than dl2 when they’re really a downgrade 😂

Dying light 2 combat felt more fluint compared to Dying Light 1
Where’s the DyingLight2 expansion at ?
the combat with humans in dl1 was supposed to be tedious, they were humans, of course they would block thus forcing you to be more strategic when fighting with them. I think combat in DL1 is superior with both humans and zombies.
I just wish the story focused more around fighting zombies and not over factions fighting for control.
Bud what’s wrong with dl2 focusing on human kind 😂
@@BlackBeardedDuckso you wanted dl2 to focus on zombies??
@@CraneOnaKrane no shit
Dl1 is a game where humans are stuck between thousands of zombies, While Dl2 is an uprising of humans between zombies, i guess that KIND OF validates why Dl2 reversed the combat?
I like dl 1 because the ragdolls feel more realistic
All of the irony but nevertheless also true😂
These yellow renegades have mui or something
Dying Light: Better zombies combat
Dying Light 2: Better human combat
DL2 is leaps and bounds better for 1 reason at minimum: Parries, parkour and combat is a lot more free flowing conpared to DL1, both incredible games nonetheless tho.
Parkour in DL2 is too OP tbh it comletey removes the danger factor
@@petitpanierdosier You're not wrong tbf. However, I always find a fight against a volatile very thrilling as it's always a good challenge. And even just a large enough horde of virals is enough to cream you if you aren't prepared for it. But let's be honest humans aren't scary at all and it is almost laughable how much you can just melt them.
I think DL2 combat wins overall.
So basically they put the wrong data to the wrong NPC’s and humans became zombies and vice versa 😂
That pic 😂
Human combat should never be better that combat with the zombies in a zombie game dying light 1 is still the better game just based on that alone.
But yeah, I think they still managed to make dying light 2 better than dying light 1, but what it should have been was an absolute masterpiece.
I think dying light 1 combat was too easy there the same combat they just made enemies not get stun kicked or flinch from a hit I think that’s why people hate dying light 2 you can hit a zombie and they can still hit you
The combat of the first game feels real, while the combat of the second feels plastic and fake

Thats a cringe smile by crane😂
Dying light 2s combat is horrible! Against humans it’s hi,kick, hit, kick, hit and so on! And don’t get me started on zombies..

Hitting good combat combos in dying light 2 is unnecessarily difficult and clucky whereas dying light combat was smooth and dynamic.
Tbh it’s pretty easy, I’d say combat with human enemies is actually easier, I think you might just have a skill issue

Wow what a horrible hot take. Sounds like someone is seriously delusional from nostalgia.
In Dying Light 1 , you can throw your weapons for how many times you like unlike DL2

Dl1 had much better combat than 2 in general, the fights with humans in dl2 are downright terrible in my opinion, where enemies just form a line that decides who will attack you first. Zombie combat is just unresponsive, either you whail on them or they whail on you, and there is no real in-between.
I do want to say that DL2 wins in terms of combat with bigger infected like the Goon and the Demolisher.
@@malman_is_boiiii I mean I guess but I just don’t see it. The only valid complaints I’ve seen is about the day/night cycle, everything else feels like a downgrade. I mean hell in dying light 1 there’s so little zombie variants You can run around and feel like you keep seeing the same ten zombies over and over again, which you pretty much are. And hell sometimes I’ve noticed that I’m fighting two of the same zombies and they look like clones wearing the exact same outfit or something. There’s so much more variation in dying light 2 that it doesn’t feel repetitive. I feel like that alone already makes it better. Like honestly I get that some people may like the first one better for whatever reason, I’m pretty sure it’s purely out of nostalgia.
