- How to fix a constant loud buzzing sound caused by a bad capacitor in an M-audio BX5a powered monitor speaker.
Buy the Capacitors here: @ucts/detail/nichicon/UPS1E682MHD/2599947
Tools needed:
Soldering Iron
Solder
Flux
Phillips Screwdriver
a soft surface for the speaker face (foam padding works nicely)
small-ish needle nose pliers
your favorite small scraping tool (I like tweezers)
A work area with proper ventilation for solder fumes
I just fixed my broken BX5a's who had the exact same problem (buzzing due to faulty capacitors) with the help of your video! No more buzzing and crisp clean sound again. Thank you!
Thanks! Helped me diagnose the problem. Just gotta get those pesky caps now

One of my pair is making a buzz bu NOWHERE near that loud. Is it probably the same thing?
I can’t beatbox but I fixed a speaker 🤣
My active monitor has a low sound issue, the sound is low even when I turn the volume all the way up... what could be the issue?
Thanks
A good way to tell if your capacitor is dead is if the top looks swollen/bulging then they are bad.
Визуально рабочий конденсатор может быть нерабочим.
Im not going to watch 10 min of adds to watch your video
