Golly! I was not aware of this monument or this man when I lived in Johnson City. WOW! If I had known about this site, I certainly would have visited to show my respect. Sometimes teenagers do stupid things. Shane, I am not a friend of anyone who wants to tear down or terrorize historical monuments. Thank you for this awesome piece of TN history.
Thanks for the video.!! I was mischievous as a teenager but I never stooped to the point of vandalizing a grave site. To me that is just wrong. My great grandfather's grave site and about 30 or 40 other graves were vandalized in a cemetery in Lenoir NC so I guess that makes it a sore spot for me. Good Video.!!
That was very interesting, yet disturbing that that person kicked and knocked over the stone and drove off.😡 In Cumberland County, NJ in the Old Cohansey Baptist cemetery (in use before 1801) there is a gravestone from 1760 of a woman, aged 77, who was "the first white child born in Cohansey". The Cohansey Baptist church itself was founded 1690, and moved to its current church building in 1801.
My Dad had the same first name as Mr. Duncan and apparently had similar problems with it being misspelled. When he would renew his drivers license he would always just sign it the way they misspelled it instead of arguing.😊
Wow I had no clue and live near! On another note! The man that owned the property where Daniel Boone carved DB Boone killed a bar here started making little wood, trinkets and mallets out of the wood from the tree and selling them. My grandmother had a little mallet from the tree that Daniel Boone carved that ! Off of Carol Creek Road in Boones Creek. Thanks for the videos guys.
Very interesting, thank you for taking us there Shane. Thank you Shane and Melody!
Thank you for watching, Robin
Thank you Shane and melody for this video

Yes I hate it when people take it upon themselves to tear down other people’s memorials.

Oh yes, sounds like that is a bad issue for you too. I always hate to hear about it happening.
