    I'm worried this bar scene is supposed to be a literal afterlife, because in the N7 day message they spoke about "who really died" and that answers wouldn't be easy to find. It would make me very sad that this is the reason they show a very Garrus-like turian.

  • @OniFeez
    @OniFeez ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I think that Geth looks like it's guarding the woman sitting down next to him. So I think that the result with Legion 'disseminating' itself throughout the Geth is considered the canon choice, because I imagine guarding a woman is a very personal decision rather than a collective group one, unless of course she is somehow very important to the Geth as a whole. My theory if that is correct is that the Geth have been allowed into council space and because they are taking steps to individualize themselves and to seek out unique experiences.
    Yeah the Angara makes that image confusing, but depending on when the game is set; it doesn't necessarily need 634 years to travel to Andromeda. It took 600 years when the Nexus and the Arks took off, because that's where the technology was at in 2182 or whenever it was. Since then, we had the Reaper war, and reverse engineering that tech would absolutely be a priority after the necessities were taken care of. Remember that the Reapers had to cross from 'dark space' into the galaxy at large at an impossibly quick pace after Shephard knocked out the Mass Relay in the Arrival DLC. Ergo, it stands to reason that post Reaper War, the council races could travel much faster potentially to Andromeda. Also bear in mind where the council species turn up in Andromeda, because in the game we were limited to the Heleus Cluster of Andromeda. The Angara could have traveled past this cluster in their history, with it becoming isolated past then with the arrival of the Kett and the activation of the Scourge.

    The Asari by the Geth reminds me more so of Peebee from Andromeda. She was good with machines so who's to say she didn't come across a Geth and program it like she did with the Remnant drone. Also if you look close, that Asari looks like she has the dark markings across her eyes just like Peebee does.

  • @mervjohnson8010

    Have we considered that the reason some races are missing is because... They died out? Maybe they didn't survive the Reaper War OR the aftermath before any Relays were rebuilt.

    • @pacmonster066
      @pacmonster066 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      The extended cut established that the relays were not destroyed. They were damaged by the crucible's pulse but not so badly that races would literally die out before they could be repaired.
      And in none of ME3's endings did any of the main races go extinct. The closest would be the Batarians who lost their Hegemony, but their entire race wasn't fully gone. You could argue the Geth were destroyed by the Reaper destruction ending but it's also pretty easy to hand wave away isolated pockets of Geth that weren't exposed to the Crucible's anti-synthetic wave.

    • @Knight1029
      @Knight1029 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    My working theory is that we will play as either an N7 operative or even one of Liara's agents who has to track down a rogue N7 operator (similar to hunting down Saren). I think the character in the trailer is that rogue operative who hacked into Alliance networks (remember the codes before the last bit of the trailer, it mentioned a security breach). I think the trailer itself shows the moments just following the hack as the rogue makes her getaway. What she was looking for I don't know, but I have a hunch that it has something to do with the distress signal from Andromeda. Liara knew about the Andromeda Initiative and she probably also knows about the distress signal and is thus interested in finding out more about where it came from and what it means.
    I think the gameplay will involve more stealth and intrigue as we explore the dark underbelly of the galaxy(ies) trying to find out what the rogue N7 is after. Maybe even with new mechanics like interrogating or searching for evidence like an old school, Maltese Falcon-esque detective movie; tracking down leads as the rogue is always one step ahead. This could lead to branching missions that might end differently based on the evidence you follow.

      I was JUST thinking that, when she mentioned pre-production. An in-engine preview implies they've built an engine - that sounds like 'production' to me! If the game is set in year 2819 (which is pretty strongly indicated) then all the old squadmates will be long dead, except for Liara and Grunt. Aria would probably have aged out at this point as well.

    • @masterblaster3508
      @masterblaster3508 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is not in 2819. The issue is the System Alliance is responding to an Andromeda distess signal, and that can't be possible for the Milky Way would have gotten that distress call 633 years later.
      The other issue is we know you need 2 mass relays to get from point A to point B so I don't know how this works.

    6:09 To me, this looks like a Raloi. Not a beefy Turian. Turians have very narrow wastes and uniquely shaped torsos. This "beefy turian" doesn't have either of those physical features and if you look closely at it's face it looks like it kind of has a beak. Imo anyways. If that is a Turian it has very unique facial markings that we've never really seen Turians have, and its head spine is nearly 3 times that of a normal Turian. The more I look at it, the less Turian it looks. I jist don't see that being one.

    I love all of this. Getting a lot of WInter Soldier vibes. A kind of Spy Thriller look. I think the Turian with the visor is definitely Garrus, Bioware knows we would make that connection. I do think the outfit we see could just be one possible outfit, maybe for the Infiltrator class, and that the other classes will have other outfits. I do think the Asari looks like Liara with a Geth bodyguard. If this is in the 2800's then Liara would be a Matriarch. It's possible she's now a diplomat, or an ambassador or councillor or something, which would explain the need for a bodyguard. Bioware are being cheeky, releasing just enough to keep us salivating, without confirming anything. I look forward to discovering more.

    Tech can advance and evolve very quickly. Look at how fast humans went from not even knowing of other cultures in the galaxy to being galaxy spanning travelers. 600 year trip in stasis to another galaxy is a long time for tech to advance back in the Milky Way. It could be possible that in 600 years a way to 'fast travel' via mass effect relays with using reaper tech after the war was found. Thus a way to travel between Milky Way/Andromeda/any other galaxy could be plausible.

    I'm still hoping for the "mass cryo-stasis" theory, where after the reaper war the Citadel races came together and collectively decided to put large portions of their populations into cryo-stasis in order to relieve the strain on resources during their efforts to rebuild the Mass Relay network and their civilizations. The longer lived races like Asari and Krogan would likely have the lowest amount of their populations in cryo, as they live long enough to oversee the long-term rebuilding effort.
    This could explain why older styles of clothing still seem to be in use, despite it being hundreds of years later, because they're still the preferred style of recently defrosted people. It also could explain why Liara is older, as she likely would've chosen to remain out of cryo to help the galaxy recover. Additionally it could also explain how not only Shepard was brought back again, and so far into the future, but also how other beloved characters could make their return as well.
    It would also lend credence to the idea that the original first teaser may have been symbolically hinting at cryo being the answer, with Liara pulling the piece of an N7 helmet out of the ice as symbolic for finally pulling Shepard out of cryo. Even the remastered Legendary addition could be hinting at this, with the perfect destroy ending appearing to show what looks more like snow than ash falling around Shepard's still living body.
    Liara worked with the Andromeda Initiative and very likely would have been able to gain access to their cryo-stasis tech. This would also give time for new/lesser known races like the Lystheni to rise in prominence, and allow us to explore a galaxy that is both familiar in many ways, but also completely new in others.

    Great job looking at the pic shot within the protagonist's own picture with the species. What I want to comment briefly is with the AI species serving the club, might not be that race either. Just playing around the Armax Arena of the Citadel DLC in ME3, guess who's serving food there? Same thing. Thus, we have have seen it before, but overlooked as we're caught with the arena itself (especially grinding those winning tokens into credits). Therefore, might be just VIs again for the next game.
    I need to re-look that Salarian related species lore as that is new to me.
    Finally, I think Liara is in the center of the club pic because who has been our guide there past few years with these teasers? Geth in clothing is dope, better than a blown out N7 armor, lol.

    Gotta take into account the Dark Energy idea in both ME trilogy and ME Andromeda. I think it’s going to play an important role.
    There could be something with that Dark Energy that binds the two timeframes in some way, such as Andromeda being able to reach the Milky Way in the time not too long after the end of the Reaper War. Could be something like a Black Hole (Andromeda) and a white hole (Milky Way) as to where this is actually a wormhole where these two groups can travel back and forth across space and time.
    I think whatever the plot is going to be, it’s something that affects both the Milky Way and Andromeda. In ME fashion, it’s gotta be some impossible enemy that threatens all life. I’m not sure the game can be scaled down to someone doing small scale “spy like” things after that, it could be disappointing.

That can be because no one really explained what Meridian is actually capable of. So, i say, it helped the andromeda factions to contact the milky way and ask for help against the kett. It also could have constructed a supergate which can send ships from andromeda to the mw. From there another such gate oculd be build to faciilitate full contact.
    The geth survived because some of them weren't in the milky way when the destroy signal was transmitted.

I hope it's not a character that's been pre-established mainly because Liara isn't an N7 and we met very very few in the series as a whole even if they were retired but since bioware loves the customization options to make the character feel unique to you I hope it's someone new, if it's a new Character and since they are an N7 it would be cool if they were more of the Black's Ops side of the N7 were they go on the super secret missions that are always classified and it'd be a nice touch if very few people knew of the character prior to playing as them and give them a highly mysterious background that almost nobody knows, I'm not saying to make them a stealthy character or anything but more "someone who gets stuff done" even if it costs lives to do so, maybe a "sacrifice a few to save countless"

    These sort of different salarians, turians and other unidentified aliens could be explained if this takes place a long time in the future and the species have evolved or even cross-bred. Maybe a bridge was built between two or even more galaxies, aka the new relay looking structure from the other poster, hence justifying both angara and geth.

    So i believe the key to that image is that Angara. This image isn't in the Milky Way, it's in Andromeda. Unfamiliar looking characters could be new Andromeda species, the bulky Salarian aside. The game will likely start in the Milky Way 700 years after the events of ME3 and we'll get to see how the galaxy has changed after the Reapers. But all the characters we're familiar with besides Liara and possibly Grunt will be long dead, Shepard and Garrus included. If they have descendents, perhaps we'll meet them or they'll even be party members. There are some more keys to the story elsewhere which is that a distress beacon from Andromeda is picked up, and while some want to go to the Initiative's aid to fight against the Kett, the Council likely isnt interested in the concerns of the Andromeda colonists. And thats where Liara's quote about human defiance comes from. This N7 operative likely goes across the Milky Way gathering support and forces to go to the Andromeda galaxy which they'll accomplish via some new kind of FTL that might only take days rather than the 700 years the Initiative took. And then the game will move to Andromeda and thats where the remainder of the story will take place. The first thing we do upon getting there might be to rescue the Quarian Ark from the Kett. Perhaps some races didn't survive the journey or the Kett took them to be converted. Or they just arent pictured in this image but will be in the game. Liara will likely go with you to Andromeda.

I beat them so many times, but with the trilogy, I was thinking back to when I fondly went through them in the past, and although I enjoyed the trilogy again, in fact, it was technically the best I've ever experienced them, it wasn't hitting the high notes that I remember feeling to the point I was kind of saddened and thinking "why did I love this so much and spend so much time playing this?" That sounds negative, but I still love Mass Effect regardless. I hope this game turns out well.

    I’m betting the Geth either ARE, or were in contact with, the Jardaan. Think about it: a few hundred years of Remnant tech in Helios? The Geth were studying dark energy in Tali’s recruitment mission. The Scourge is some kind of dark energy. Further, I think, based on other art, the next game takes place in the year of Andromeda, but in the Milky Way.
    We even learn in andromeda that the idea for the Initiative came from finding information that the Geth were observing Andromeda.
    If the Geth or other synthetics made the Angara, it’s the opposite of the Reaper dilemma, which would fit if elements of the Geth looked at the Reaper problem and decided leaving the galaxy was the best solution before the Reapers show up. We don’t know how they could have gotten there before the Arks, but I bet that is what the Andromeda team was planning as a reveal for that trilogy.
    It would also explain why the N7 Day art has really focused on the Geth in the last few years.

      @gN0mseryiops ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kalaelizabeth I'm just hoping the jardaan and remnant are involved in ME5 because for me that was one of the parts of Andromeda that made me nostalgic for the original series. The mysteriousness of the reapers and the awe of something so much more technologically advanced then ourselves were some of my favourite parts of the original mass effect and to an extent ME2. ME3 brought that back a little with the leviathan DLC, but honestly I feel they explained too much. Lovecraftian horror and mystery in sci fi are some of my favourite things so I really hope those are included.
      It would totally fit in the milky way and Andromeda timelines if sometime before initiative vessels arrive in Andromeda, but after reapers are defeated in milky way the jardaan arrive. Considering how much more advanced they are I imagine they might be able to move faster or maybe use wormholes to move instantly and something similar to the geth telescope to receive instantaneous information about the milky way. This could also be compatible with the theory that the jardaan are protheans. If the jardaan are protheans that went to Andromeda to escape the reapers then they might return after learning (through their geth-telescope-esque technology) that the reapers were defeated.
      Though better than that imo would be that something greater than the reapers exists that led to the downfall of the jardaan and the formation of the scourge. Maybe the reapers also knew about this and somehow the cycle/harvest was a solution to this problem (like the theory that it has something to do with dark energy speeding up the end of the universe or other similar theories). Though this might contradict/retcon a bit of what the catalyst says about the purpose of the reapers but I don't think I'd mind that if done right.
