Every once in a while, IGN makes an informed and interesting video that speaks directly to the lore of the game they're speaking on. Was not expecting we'd open up to the leviathans. Props to Kenneth SHEPARD!
The Mass Effect lore is IMPECCABLE. It's the only franchise in existence that hooked me in reverse. What I mean by that is usually with videogames you get sucked into the lore and world building by playing the games. But for me with Mass Effect I was addicted to the lore long before even touching one of the games for the first time. And it's not like there are any movies for series based on it. I got hooked purely on the story that I consumed through videos made by other passionate fans. It's truly a unicorn of a great story.

That music at the end of ME3 section at 16:50 always reminds me of how emotional i was that the journey was finally over and that 'we' had won. Even tho many people found the ending disappointing, i still remember it fondly and always remember: its about the journey, not the destination.

Drack is the only one I’d say is good, everyone else is OK at best. Story-wise I thought it was only decent but it did get interesting once the Jardaan were introduced. The problem is that Andromeda is a 60 hour game, and they’re introduced only 58 hours in. There’s not enough time to delve more into that plot line. That’s why I want a follow up, be it a game or even a book: let’s flesh out the Jardaan and the Benefactor storylines because there could be something good to scrounge up there.

Don't get me wrong I was excited to play resident evil 8 but man I think mass effect trilogy remaster is my most hype game this year so far since we pretty much have no clue whats coming out 2nd half this year
For learning about your family, you'll want to follow the memory trigger quest, Ryder Family Secrets, and complete it. You will also need to keep an ear out for signs of the arks in dialogue. If you get lost on those, just check your quest log. And of course you will want to do the movie night quest. Some points in these quests will not continue though until you hit a point in the main story quest because they will require you to go to different planets that show up in later parts of the game. Don't worry if you complete the main quest and miss them though! You can continue to play after and finish them, although it is my understanding someone could die if all the arks aren't found before a certain mission.
At the end of my first playthrough (just like 10min before typing) when the kid gave me the choice, I decided to screw 50hrs of my life and try shooting the thing. Didn't end well for Shep.
I’m currently half way through ME3 and got andromeda ready to go next. But watching the first minute of andromeda story, isn’t it really grim if Shepard saves the world and there’s a team of thousands who have left their families and lives behind to a new galaxy and have no way of knowing or returning that their original galaxy was saved???

I liked the gameplay but the story and character were so lame. And as a huge fan of the Mass effect 1-3 I didn’t even finish it.
