Buckeye, I cried along with you. Angelina is so sincere in her love for music and is a huge fan of Elvis. She has become friends with Priscilla. I can't tell you how many classic songs which Angelina, sprinkled her magic on, that I understood, for the first time, the story and the emotion. I find her voice the most welcoming of my life. Her soulful tone hugs my soul. There is a podcast on TH-cam, dedicated to Angelina, "Wrapped in a Warm Blanket", where guests share how much Angelina and her music mean to them. For me, Angelina has provided hope and her music keeps me emotionally balanced.

I like the live in studio version. When she cries out int the void for him, it will rip your soul to shreds, but somehow puts it back together a little better by the end. Our loved are never truly gone, they exist in the very tears we shed for them. Check it out

She will be the Elvis of this generation! She has so many similarities with Elvis, it's downright uncanny, even down to the occasional lip-curl on some songs! She's been pretty much the whole Elvis-package since around 10 or 12 years old when her voice and stage presence REALLY began to mature -- except for the fact that she's the ethereally beautiful female version!

Be assured, Angelina touches all of our souls. She has the ability to “uncover” songs, she pays respect to the original artists at the same time as putting her own spin on them. If ever you need comfort just listen to any of Angelina’s 200 covers or any of her 13 original songs. It doesn't matter how many times I experience this performance, I am swamped in emotions...it is a perfect rendition of the original...for all time!

Dagnabbit, Buckeye, you got me cutting onions just watching your reaction! Speaking just for myself, Angelina's arrangement of this song is pure genius! I don't know if you know anybody who likes to restore cars, but there's something called a "frame-off restoration", where the car is literally taken completely apart, and rebuilt from the ground up. It's how I would describe what Angelina did here. She deconstructed the song, went right to the heart of the story the song is about, and the emotions that are revealed by it. A dysfunctional relationship without trust, and the pain this causes. This is core to who Angelina is as a singer. She is a storyteller. This was pointed out to her by someone who had played with Frank Sinatra for six years. He said all of the greats that he had worked with, and more, were great storytellers. He quoted Frank: "I'll never let my singing get in the way of my storytelling". Angelina is, by the way, a huge fan of Elvis himself, and has spent a little time with Priscilla herself! I also want to extend my condolences to you on the passing of your mom. It's just never easy, and however long you take to allow for your own grief...well, that's how long it takes. There is no rulebook. You might find Angelina's original song, "Million Miles", to really strike a chord within you. She wrote it about the passing of her grandfather. It speaks to the pain of the loss and the emptiness, but also strikes a very important point..you are Never Alone! You always carry them with you in your memories, and in your heart! But, be prepared, it's another crying song, to be sure! All of my very best to you and all of yours, with great care, from Wisconsin!

The pianist Rob Christie (music studio director of Republic Records distribution of UMG, two-time Grammy winner) changed the musical arrangement and Angelina changed the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyrical structure starting with the bridge and gives the song a different meaning than Felton Jarvis and Mark James , Angelina version absolutely fits the lyric better. Once again, many people don't hear and understand the song until Angelina tells the story. 👣 💯 *AJ* 💯👣
The producer Felton Jarvis from Elvis Presley cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original country arrangement completely from Mark James and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version).😊

I too, was saddened by the passing of Elvis Presley. I remember the world was shocked, just as it was shocked by the Challenger spacecraft explosion. It's funny how certain events stand out in the fog of our memories. I've always said Angelina is a time portal that allows us to relive some of these memories, and Suspicious Minds is one memory I have been happy to revisit over and over again with Angelina. I hope we all embrace the good memories of our past and lock away the bad ones.
By the way, you are an Angel too. You just haven't recognize it yet.

I grew up in Massillon , Ohio and although I moved to Georgia in 1986 I'll always be Buckeye born , Buckeye bred and a Buckeye till I'm dead ! Angelina is my favorite singer of all time. No one can bring out the emotion in a song and touch your very soul like she can. I'm a bit of a tough guy { former US ARMY Green Beret ) and she has brought me to tears more than once with her beautiful renditions of classic songs and her awesome originals .

If you really want to hear a beautiful song listen to hear cover of “Unchained Melody “ at the 2023 Noble Peace Prize. It’s unbelievable! After that watch when she sings “Summertime and Bang,Bang” at the Norways Got Talent show when she was just 7-8. That will impress you big time. She is such a sweetheart also. Angelina dusts of an old classic. Showing its still relevant and I really heard the lyrics when she sang this. Its her gift. Emotional honesty and telling the story.
There's nothing wrong to get teared up about her singing, it's just way it works. to forget all time and place. being in the moment and to forget everything else is a natural thing with her music.
the thing that really makes me happy about angelina, is that this is just the start. We see her grow up as a person and as an artist right infront of our eyes. What a journey this have been so far and just imagine what a journey it will become.

Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. The Melrose Gallery is in west Hollywood on Melrose Blvd. in the greater Los Angeles. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani.
She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The beautiful rendition of the song, and other tributes are in the leather outfit, Guitar and hair a tribute to Priscilla. 🔥🔥🔥♥👣

From the very first words, the warmth, tone, passion and sweetness that Angelina manages to instill in this mythical song are truly incredible, you just wish the song was much longer. Her phrasing, backed by her wonderful use of breath and her peculiar jazz tone, always fascinates me and gives me chills every time, I love this absolutely amazing, so personal rewrite of this iconic song, with so many Elvis tribute details. Now it's a different song, but it's also the same, it still has that harmony, but somehow (in a way only Angelina can process) it's even more emotional, it's slower, but it's so close to your soul flow that kidnaps you. 💛🧡❤

The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song.
The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aries (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family.
Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).

Oh, Steve, I forgot...not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but Angelina actually had the good fortune of meeting Priscilla Presley and Austin Butler, the actor who portrayed Elvis in the most recent movie about him, at a private screening of the movie. What is kind of interesting about Angelina and Elvis is that many people have said how similar they look. There was a rumor out there that she was the grand daughter of Elvis (which is not true). Still, a number of people have said that they do share some similarities...she even does the Elvis lip curl in one of her music videos, an original song called Now I'm The Fool, which is off her EP called Old Enough. She may not be related to Elvis, but her singing gets me much like The King himself. This young lady is the real deal!

Her sister Juliette was the older girl and the 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, Aires and Athena. 2- time Grammy winner Rob Christie is on piano once again. He is also the music director of Republic Records, the music company she is signed with. The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. The black suit and red guitar was a classic look for Elvis from his comeback concert. What a performance and homage to The King!

Angelina has made me cry a handful of times. Two times in particular, she made me totally break down *sobbing* - not because I had any special connection to the songs or the original artists (like you did here), or because they were especially emotional songs. It was because (both times) she was singing songs of Adele better, IMO, than Adele herself. Meaning not just that her voice, per se, sounded better, but that she "made the songs her own" in a way that I didn't get from Adele. (Which is ironic, of course, since Adele was _literally_ singing her own songs) This is actually something Angelina tends to do a lot. I have referred to it in the past as making her cover sound like the original, and the original sound like a cover. And this is largely independent of how much "production" has gone into Angelina's version. The second time I broke down, in fact, I was listening to a TikTok of her just sitting in her bedroom at home (at 15) singing into her cell phone. (The first time was a live-in-concert performance from two years earlier. To be more specific, the songs in question were "When We Were Young" [live at Prøysenhuset in 2019] and "Love Is a Game" [on TikTok in 2021].)
In any case, to finish my explanation: Adele is basically _exactly_ the kind of superstar singer that Angelina has dreamed of being at least since she was 5 or 6 (and probably for years before that). There are videos of Angelina singing Adele songs going back to when she was 5 (reportedly… I think she was actually already 6 in the particular video I'm alluding to, but that's beside the point). So, to see her, so to speak, "surpass one of her idols"… well, that's basically why it hit me so hard. It was as if she had already become that superstar she'd "always" wanted to be, and she just needed to wait for the rest of the world to catch up to that fact. (And now that I've put it that way for the first time, I'm not sure that wasn't already true a lot earlier. Whatever…)
BTW, this is not to say that Adele is the standard by which I think all singers must be compared. I have most of her albums, but I wouldn't call myself a "fan" of hers. It's just that Adele happened to be the originator of both songs that Angelina performed in a way that made me lose my sh-. It could have been Whitney instead or, probably more likely given my own preferences, Amy Winehouse. Angelina has covered them both multiple times, going back to when she was quite young (1½ and 8, respectively), and she has (since) "surpassed" both of them in my mind, in a similar way to Adele. (Although, interestingly, it took a couple of Angelina's originals, not any of her Amy covers, to finally bring me to the point where I could make the bald assertion that she is "better than Amy". In the past, I could say she's better in this way or that, but now I'm like, yeah, OK, she's better than Amy. Full stop. Funny enough, I don't even own _any_ Amy Winehouse albums.)
