So...there I was listening, and drifting on a sea of verb with islands of harmony to guide my way... and all of the sudden, "HELLO" ! I'm pulled out of my astral meandering and greeted by a smiling hirsute wizard with a Strat...lol Thanks for the sounds.

Dave I only use the first 3 channels on mine, they are called 1 Gary Moore heavy drive, 2 Rory Gallagher heavy blues and 3 Jeff Healey intense blues. I created those 3 presets, the stock presets are horrible and these 3 cover my needs. For keep the missus happy quiet practice, the go is a winner. I use my Sony xm4 headphones in wired mode, none of the earbuds constantly falling out like you are experiencing.

Dave - I have bought and sold dozens of amps over the last 40 yrs including a Marshall JCM800 2x12 combo, JCM 900 SLX 100 head, JMP50 2x12Combo, Marshall DSL401 (EL84) combo, Marshall TSL 601 combo and oodles of Peaveys. The only amps I currently use are a Boss Katana 100MKii and a Marshall DSL 20CR combo with a Celstion V-Type speaker instead of the junk Seventy/80.
I love the Katana as it like owning every Marshall ever built in a convenient portable box plus the bonus of every effects pedal you could ever need. To think Boss have built all that into a matchbox sized box is incredible - I will be buying one thanks to your demo.

@@petergoddard1960 I understand that signal from DAW is not going through amp section of Katana. But I'm talking about signal incoming to DAW from Katana.. Am I able to send completely dry signal through Katana to DAW? So can I disable also amp section there? I can do that on my Nux MPP but I'm not sure about Katana Go. And yes I want to monitoring track where Katana will be a source. It doesn't necessarily have to be in a DAW, it can be a standalone application like Tonex or Nembrini apps. I just don't want to use any of Katana's effects or amps, just use it as a regular audio interface.

Also what would be best way to use my ipad pro i have in order to have the backing tracks play through the djs booth if you like ? or are they able to isolate the guitar bits anyway if i ask them and just have me play over them not sing btw 😅not for me just play? I think Boss missed a simple trick in not including a drum machine and metronome which the NUX Mighty Plug Pro.
The recharge life of the battery in the long term might be an issue. If it's anything like the NUY Mighty Plug you need to be careful of the fragility of the Jack assembly. Treat it gently.
It will still sell like hotcakes on the back to the success of the Katana amps.

My ears took a lot of abuse shooting off fireworks & firearms & working in industry annnnd, Yes listening to & playing loud music but I finally got tenitus by riding a motorcycle way too long without baffles & stupid me that day didn't wear earplugs. Now I've had a hissing in my ears for I reckon 20 or so years now & I'm the guy that used to talk to people about using at least some hearing protection. Thank goodness I don't have to have hearing aids yet & when tested have been told a few times after I passed when I asked about my results have been told I have a slight loss in the upper range but am still in pretty good shape. WOW!!! amazing. I still have to make myself turn down the jams or use some protection. Great review. Thanks man!👍

For me it was a toss up between these and the Line 6 Pod Express. In the end I went for the Pod, for two main reasons 1) I already have the boss WAZA Air headphones (which are great), 2) the looper built into the Pod, oh and 3) the tweakability of the Pod without needing an app. The pod does have some limitations and quirks, but hopefully they will be addressed by a future firmware update, which Line 6 are generally good at (unlike boss, it has to be said). The katana go does sound good though.

i think its a cool idea, until it snaps off from its connector...... i think these are great, but risky because its SO easy to snap it off its own connector.. idk, i think a physical redesign needs to happen so that the weight isnt just hanging off the jack the way it does and on the part that "rotates"...... i cannot recommend these because of their current physical design. i cant recommend any little output amp like these. i just cant. too risky, imo.

I'd likely already have one of these if they output to bluetooth. That would be a reason to get yet another Katana product.
Thanks for the review. Great playing, as always.
(Oh, as someone who wears headphones all day, as long as you control the volume, it's fine for most. Not everyone gets that fatigue. As an example, my wife does, but my son and I don't.)

These things are good except I absolutely hate playing with earbuds or headphones on...just distracting
