Yesterday I had an interview with a charter school for teacher assistant and got my job offer today. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your video. I watched your video 2 days before my interview and I got the job . I'm so blessed to have come across your video. May God bless you for what you do to help others. I'm so excited and can't wait to start. God Bless you🙏
Wow,congratulations mam! I am using also this video to help me in my soon application to land a teaching/assistant teaching job in US for a greener pasture. I believe also that by reading all the good comments here will boost my confidence and this video is a very reliable one.🙏So grateful and thankful that I have come across this video❤
Wish I had watched and used your video for interview prep sooner. After having multiple unsuccessful interviews I practiced video tapping myself answering your prep questions- next day I landed a teaching contract!!!! Thank you so much!
Before watching this video I definitely did most of the mistakes you’ve shown. I was terrible at the teaching interviews and didn’t get any offers. After practicing with this video all night yesterday…I actually got a job interview! I used the questions you gave in the end for closing and they were impressed!!!!!!! Thank you so much! You don’t how much this means to me! I really needed to start my career as a single mom and recent graduate. Thank you!
Aww @Fiona Joinville - This makes me so happy ❤️️❤️️❤️️. And I'm so glad to hear that you you're making a difference in the lives of kids and a difference in your life too. Best of luck and congrats!!
I swear the questions you suggested I should ask the interviewer worked out really well. I actually passed my interview. I've been to more than 5 interviews so far and this is the only interview which had a positive outcome. Thank you so much!
Just an update to my previous comment: I LANDED THE JOB OF A LIFETIME!!! Thank you so much for this video. Viewers: Pay attention. practice, take notes, practice again. Watch the second video. It was extremely helpful.
Fantastic @James Mase - I am so, so glad to hear that! I think it really helps to not go in cold. And the job of a lifetime?!? Whoo Hoo 🥳️👏👏👏🥳️!! Congratulations ❤️️!
I have a really potentially life changing interview today. This was really helpful to practice with, and i am grateful you made this video. Send good vibes,
Love, love your approach with the live "not what to do", could you please record your live responses to your 7 questions on "WHAT YOU SHOULD DO.." The text answers are helpful but think you speaking the answers , as if you were in the interview, would be even more insightful! Thanks!☺☺ Great video.
Hey @Ebbie! I had thought about filming responses, but it differs so much between grade levels, delivery model, and content taught. It would be hard to make a response that would work universally. I will have to mull over that one and see what I can put together! Thanks for the comment ❤️️
@@NoodleNook Are you still mulling? LOL! How about give a PK-1st response, a 2-3rd or 4th response, then a 5th grade response? Obviously I'm focused on elementary.
This video has been SO HELPFUL! I have an interview for a k-3rd grade SPED teaching position this week. This video is helping me prepare! I graduate college this May and this could be my very first teaching job at the school I’m interning at this semester. I want to nail this!
I find this Video so helpful! I have an interview for a Learning Support Worker position in 3 days time But even though it’s not a teaching position I find this video very helpful thank you
Thank you for creating a very informative video that was also funny as well. I spent 3 hours reviewing this video, practicing my interview questions, and writing my responses as well. Wish me luck!!
Great to hear @Jennifer - I have to ask, how did the interview go? Was the time you spent preparing helpful? And did you get the job? Comment readers are dying to know 😉!
Hey Noodle nook lol. first of all great name. Second of all, this video was phenomenal. I have my interview in 20 minutes for a special needs adult house manager position. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you so much for making this content.
@MS.E3 - And as an interviewer, the 'tell me something about yourself' questions is so much of your first impression... if you don't have some talking points ready (and fumble through that section), you will be digging yourself out of hole then entire rest of the interview. Best of luck on yours!
I think the conflict one might be the hardest 🤔 I love your voice and clear structure in this video! I didn’t have much interview experience (only about 2 or 3 times) and always secretly had this deep fear that all my words will stuck in my throat during the interview or I couldn’t find the right words/sentences to make a point. Most of my friends said that I am the talkative kind of person, but somehow I stammered in interviews 😞
@Yuchen - Interviews are so hard and super stressful! They are totally nightmare worthy IF you are not prepared. If you have some good talking points in your head and feel like you're prepared, you'll do great. Technology questions are starting to be right up there too, so prep for that as well. Best of Luck🍀!
Loved "of course I need to find out who the cool people are, and where the bathrooms are" 😂‼️. Don't we all actually want this info when we start at a new place? Thanks for all your great advice as well as your sense of humor.
The first question is always the hardest for me because the resume shows my experience, so do they want personal info like I'm a foodie and love to travel and enjoy giving back and meeting new people.
Thanks it was helpful for me. I am studying and practicing to apply next year in USA. I am not a native speaker. I like your videos because you speak faster than others videos. I appreciate your time and knowledge.
@rosesreels - Yes! And don't be surprised if they put a hard one at the end. Once you go through these practice ones, you'll be all good. 🤞 Best of luck!
What do you anticipate to be your biggest challenges your first year on campus? Thank you so much for your video. My interview is tomorrow! Wish me luck!
So nervous... I interview on Wednesday. Its been difficult getting an interview as an Intern, so finding this video could not have come at a better time. Any advice on how to sell myself when their are so many amazingly credentialed teachers out there?
You are amazing. Where were you when I was doing all those zoom interviews and forgetting everything I have learned and can share why the schools should hire me? Haha, just kidding
This is fantastic by the way thank you. There were 2 Questions I really got stuck on 1)Tell us a bit about yourself? 2) What will your biggest challenge be?
Hey Minga! Hope you were able to get your channel off the ground. The hardest part is getting them done... the tools are secondary. I use an old video camera (like 10 years old) and a lapel mic for good audio. I also use my sell phone for a lot of the videos too. Just remember, you can do it!❤️️
Question 5 “How do you resolve conflict within your teaching team.” Managing relationships with well intentions among your peers can be equally as difficult as managing a relationship with a challenging student.
@Adam - You totally got that right! It can be the adults more than the students that need managing too. So this question may also flag you that your future team is not a tight unit.
@Inge Slabbert - What do you think is the right way to go with that question? anyone out there have any suggestions? I'm glad there was one out there that was hard for you... If you can do that one, you can totally handle your interview 😉. Thanks for the comment.
Hey @NerdGeek! A well written philosophy can be helpful (and a great conversation piece), but be sure it's short and sweet. Too long can do the opposite and cause people to skim over it altogether. Best of Luck!
A rehearsed interview performance seems forced to me. I'd like to express my feelings about teaching and students, not thread needles to pass an interview.
Hello, I've really taken the liking to your highlighted points in the interveiw and I'm going to be doing my bachelor's, but I'm a bit confused What program should i take to become the SPED teacher? Is simple education alright?
Hey @Ridda Butt - no matter what, you'll need a bachelor's degree. With the critical shortages in education, you can master in nearly anything and then complete an alternative certification program after graduation. Otherwise, yes, as you do your education coursework, look for classes that support teaching in special ed or make that your targeted focus. Either way, we're glad you'll be joining the ranks!
Hey @Marus Chu - I would never disclose personal information about any health conditions in an interview UNLESS you think it will have a major impact on your ability to perform the job. I have known tons of teachers with ADHD who are perfectly capable of doing their jobs... so, unless asked directly (which would be weird), I wouldn't. -Good Luck 👍🏽
